Monster Hunter Rise: Comprehensive Bowgun Tutorial
Переглядів 100 тис.2 роки тому
With Monster Hunter Rise releasing on PC in seven hours, I have decided to create a video featuring every single thought about the bowgun my brain has ever produced. Aimed for beginners, those new to the franchise, or for people who just haven't ever tried the bowgun before, I'll walk you through the basics of the weapon and show you the behind-the-scenes math that goes into trying to figure ou...
How to Play Nier: Automata - Combat Basics
Переглядів 279 тис.7 років тому
Saw a lot of people looking for a basic gameplay breakdown so here you go. If you're already experienced with the game, skip to 11:50 to skip over the basics and get to some more in-depth info you might actually not know. Sorry for the occasional broadcast stuttering, I recorded this live directly from the PS4
Come on man why Free Meal catching strays 😭😭😭 lord knows how much I love Free Meal Secret
Holy bitrate Batman! (there is none)
Bro it’s 2025 and if you look up NieR combate this is the first one that pops up. Crazy great video. Just started the game after all these years. It’s great!
i came here for the guide and then realized that i can glide with the pod 🙂. anyway, awesome video dude 👍
Blessed I know this is you! Where you at yo? Come back! 😅
How does he shoot off a slashing projectile when he attacks with his sword? I cant do that 😢
I respect that homie just makes high quality long ass videos and then dips from life for awhile. Probably gonna sub just so i can get jumpscared later
Best Nier fighting tutorial. Its been frustrating not knowing how I got those knocks into the air. Intro hint: look to minimise damage taken, not maximise cash rewards. Spend money on the healing potions. I've just finished my first run with 2b and I have to say... get that storage and get those chips in. Also, contract and pipe with repeated ground slams is inelegant but very effective against groups. Round them up then blow them apart. If you set 9s to aggressive, he'll effectively tank for you. We'll see what happens at harder settings.
"Beat the game with a different weapon first so you can make all the meta builds" is really lame advice.
The reasoning isn’t so you can jump straight to the meta builds, it’s so you have enough resources to ease the time spent on the least interesting part of the games management system, which is farming for cash and points so you can buy and craft ammo. At the beginning of the game, you have very limited access to the tools to get enough ammo to sustain yourself on hunts. You absolutely can beat the game all the way through with the bowgun, but the problem you’ll run into is that you’re going to quickly run out of money you need for armor and ammo, requiring you to do more hunts…which are now significantly harder that you don’t have access to your good ammo anymore. If you swap over later in the game once the argosy is fully upgraded and you have access to the much more lucrative missions, it’s way easier to keep yourself afloat
This game came out 7 years agoooo? I just downloaded it PC couple months ago wow. Didn't know it was that old
"imagine a souls game where you only have about 40% health" soooo...full hollow on dark souls 2? great guide though this knowledge can transfer to other monster hunter games too! so don't be afraid to try the series out as a whole.
49:03 To clarify, the shield is up while walking with the HBG with or without aiming. The shield is down while the firing, recoil and reload animations. The shield has a certain range of angles from which it cannot block like your 6 and so on.
What are these 'Goblins' I keep hearing about? I'm only familiar with Golbins. Good video though, hope you figure out how to stay awake for 400 hours straight to optimise this run better
the ammo crafting is annoying this is why i don't play this
100% true, that's why I dont recommend doing guns until postgame. Rise has definitely made it the easiest it's ever been and a lot of guns you can run with zero crafting, but yeah things like the Argosy are things I totally wouldn't mind seeing phased out
The fact that you can set up auto-craft for most of your base ammo makes this kind of a ridiculous objection. You can pre-map your radial menus to quickly recover other stock during or between skirmishes. This is my first Monster Hunter game and I absolutely love maining the HBG because of all the tactical options. Loved the video learned a lot! I'm a newbie, but I couldn't help but disagree about the charge shots being useless, particularly with a shield equipped as you're safe until you pull the trigger; roll to cancel. Charged sticky head shots FTW. I think if you enjoy playing tactically, you'll really enjoy using bowguns in general. Each to their own I suppose. I'm glad there are so many weapon types, something for everyone.
"i recommend playing through the game at least once before picking up a bowgun because you take 40% more damage" nah man m rawdogging this, let's go
There ist also a Bonus mechanic when you Dodge and instantly Attack with heay Combi with a heavy sword
Seems simple enough for an casual ARPG player like me.
Most of the time im fighting cameras and not enemies
Got 2h in game but i didnt know what am i doing, so im here ;D
I'm gonna put some control advice to avoid having to use claw grip here just in case someone gets to this game late like me, watches this video AND reads a lot of the comments. You don't need to use claw grip or give up being able to use the camera. Bind light and heavy attacks to R1 and R2, dodge to L1 and fire to L2. Special pod attack can go on square, and lock on on triangle if you're playing on easy or normal, otherwise it's just a free button without much use. That way you can always attack, fire, and dodge however you want while being able to control the camera. This made hard mode so much better for me.
Probably the most in-depth bowgun guide I've ever seen. Long, but worth the watch!
I just smash the button
keyboard and mouse controls are so brutty i wish the game would enable toggling buttons.
Shrapnel is interseting in the moshpit of rampages at least. Like whre they land. Surprising amount of hits.
Mhrise is the first time i bothered to try bowgun because of the wirebug mobility 🙏🙏 Thank you for the breakdown
Watched this video and was set for my first 100 hours an year ago, watching it now for my next. You are an absolute gem of a person.
Masterpiece
fun fact for those who are trying to progress with LBG you can fanning manouver and fire off an immediate cluster shot then reload quickly , absolutely worthless in end game but early game it looks cool as hell and can help a bit with damage also never sleep on exhaust ammo, if you can shoot a monster in mid air and it's exhaust threshold hits to where they would be staggered, they're knocked to the ground instead not something you can build around but always handy to know, a good example is Rajang's jumping spin if you can get his exhaust threshold high enough by just shooting exhuast then he'll fall to the ground
How to bowgun: be a little baby who wants easy mode, aim, shoot
drawing a picture of you saying this but depicted as the seething coal locomotive and myself saying "yes" as the sleek FDR bullet train
@@razzledazzlehour honestly, please do, I would love to see that lol
funniest shit ive ever read in my life@@razzledazzlehour
@@razzledazzlehoursuch a funny reply
good vid thanks
Bro, make some more videos. Nice detailed info guide. Aces💯
Absolute legend. Exactly what i was looking for mate. Thank you🙏 so many useless videos on this out there, this one spot on
How do u get those air slashes
Thanks Bro, really enlightening... I was having trouble dealing with Yorha mobs... Thanks!
27:36 It took me 6 years to learn how to counter in this game.
trust me, sprinting is faster 2 minutes later spams dodge to the desert.
14:55 9S knocks into the air with a light attack though
14:00 i thought everybody knew that
Bye for another 6 years
The game that is giving me trouble and actually making my brain consume juices
My god... I'm 25 mins in and I seriously underestimated the amount of detail in bowguns, great video so far!
hard to get into combat when im sprinting constantly on hills with 2B
Thankyou I could not survive the damn tutorial. Hahaha
33:25 The funniest part of the video lmao. Big Ups! Thank you for the info. I co-mained HBG in World and was looking to try out LBG in Sunbreak. Thanks again.
Only one Point to disagre because you Lose the Fun Point. Not Every one is a Speed runner und dont Forget the Points FRIENDS. I like the Over had Jump specially for Spleps and the Unlicky no all your Mine explode. And then dont Forget other player can trigger the Mine, put it on the Head and let the Hammer do the Work. But yeahrs its weaker and only realy good with Pierce Ammo at the End
The mine isnt bad because you cant detonate it, the hitbox on the mines is super forgiving, its that jumping over an enemy is mega finicky because vertical hitboxes are way bigger than you would expect and its a million times safer to just dodge sideways. And yeah, the guide doesn't take "fun factor" into consideration because it's instructional. People develop their own playstyles and preferences as they play and gain experience with the game, but for a new player, explaining which weapons and skills are the most likely to make them succeed is much more useful for the intended audience of "people willing to sit through an hour-long advice video"
What language is this?
thanks this is very helpful
Heavy Attack + Jump = Enemies float in the air.
Two arguments to your thoughts on heavy bow gun. Wyvern heart is higher DPS in the right situation. Like setting up reload after you put down a trap so you can start unloading right when they get trapped. Also i disagree with not using charging. If you use the switch skill that speeds up charging you get a lot of value and slightly more DPS during that up time.
I agree, and with Focus 3 you not only speed up your charge times (which stacks with Counter Charger switch skill) but it also passively charges your Wyvernsnipe gauge quicker which already recharges way faster than Wyvernheart; so you get a more frequent uptime. You're very vulnerable with either special ammo loaded, but I feel it's easier to plan a quick sucker shot and get on with your life than trying to unload an entire clip. I prefer the pierce and stun ability of Wyvernsnipe, it has more utility especially if you don't run sticky ammo on your gun.
Hey man, missed double and triple specials on pods. When you charge pod special attack and select pod 2 or 3. As such you can have 3x blades swinging around you with 3x dps aaaand it stacks with combos givin outright insane dps. Ah and you can have 3 hammers or other specials.
