the audio was too quiet for me
"The loveliest lies of all" always sounded so insidious to me, but the way you explained it made it seem so much kinder. Thank you.
Keep going! You're doing great!!
why do u have 100 followers
Honestly my friend convinced me to watch this as a marathon on Halloween of last year. I was hesitant cuz I wasn't aware how long this series was and how long each episode was since I had to work the next day. But after explaining to me that the episodes are only about 10 minutes each and there are a total of 10 episodes I said "sure let's do it". I never regretted that decision. This mini series was so much fun and I absolutely fell in love with the fall atmosphere and design of the whole thing. I like exploring the creepy and spooky side of America like Colonial times a la Sleepy hollow. This series has stuck with me for months and I hope to watch it again for Halloween this year
You have an asmr voice
You just did a plot synopsis. There was no explaining to be done.
That's actually one of the best videos dedicated to over the garden wall. Good job!
Soooooo lm confused on you point but here are my responses If you say that there is no feminist ideology in the show: I love you If you say that there is feminist ideology in this show then: fuck you
why do i have more subs then you? your channel is great!
Repent and become Orthodox bro
I love this it is a short video yet I'm so engrossed that I feel like I couldn binge this like 30 minute videos
gross
I did not understand a single thing that you said.
This show is bad for kids same with loud house.
Nah dude
wow i think i caught a homophobe
Didn't Rebecca Sugar outright state she uses Fusion as a sex metaphor? It's introduced like that when Pearl doesn't want Steven to see Amethyst and Garnet fuse like seeing it might mess him up. Makes it messed up anything Steven fuses.
Fusion is relationships in general. They can represent sex, but also they can represent all other types of relationships.
Like the previous comment says it symbolizes an relationship. It can be platonic, parental but also romantic (or even intimate). Either way its not sexual because they are sexless creatures therefore can´t have sex (but can have romantic relationships). Pearl doesn´t want Steven to see becase fusion ist still innapropriate for Gems for various reasons (but not sexual cause it can´t be). Herself wants only to fusion when it´s absolutely nessesary so it´s more of her opinion only.
@@effiek.8897 Pretty sure that is a post-hoc justifucation. Keep in mind what Rebecca said about Stevonnie's debut and it being a metaphor for puberty growth spurts. Being a child suddenly thrust into a maturing body. The Gems may be sexless beings but the symbolism and metaphor is very sexual. Then take the example of Jasper coercing Lapis into fusing. Her rape face and saying "just say yes!" no not help it look any less sexual.
Steven universe is dumb
:(
Your mom’s dumb
Is Rose trans cause she changed her sex(gem type). Did Greg have babies with a trans rose quartz. if you feel like a rose quartz can you just be one. What if garnet felt like a topaz.
@nebulousgardens thanks yes I get where my ignorance was showing
This is a ok video. I am confused on what your point was, but I probably will be making a video on some of the charachters sexuality's.
I haven't got a clue what you were on about. And I feel like you missed the point of the show and the characters. Or you got it and used words and phrases that only makes sense to people already versed in Queer Theory. All this agender and presenting as female stuff seems muddied. You appear to ignore that gems can only be as masculine or feminine as their gem type allows, and not much further. Fluid is the very last thing you could describe the genders in this show. All Pearls are pretty. All Quarts are tough. All Rubies are short. However the show does make it clear that no matter how alike these characters may seem to others of their type, everyone is who they make themselves to be. Pearl being such a renegade badass genius is the best example. But this feels more relatable to body types or even race. Gender is included but it doesn't look to be teh focus. Pearl is at her core still a Pearl and acts like one. She does not reject who she was made as. She just chooses to be more than that. This goes against a lot of feminism which shames women who are "too womanly" and paints men as enemies. And that's another thing. Gender is all but ignored in the show. Masculinity and femininity are shown to only ever be personal things. No-one ever uses these traits to insult or judge others. Not even the villains do this. Not even against Steven the only male gem. The show's message is that gender does not matter, and that's fantastic. Unlike in feminism where gender is more important than your name. Whilst celebrating who you are, and encouraging you to strive to be more than that, SU also tackles relationships. This is a part that is so huge I shouldn't even try to describe it all in this comment. That is a topic for a video. One that's already been done, and pretty well. Not saying gender isn't a good topic too, just, it's easier. And talking about feminism especially is easy, cause the entire show is extremely anti-feminist. Anyway dunno if you were confused, or I was not the target audience. I managed to get nothing from this video sadly.
Feminist are about equality and a femine Nazi are the ones that think that woman are good and men are enemies
Nah bud, YOU didn't get the video, nor the show, like, at all...
Boys dressing like girls or two girls fusing to make a cool person or every character being a women and the show being made by a lesbian are all great examples of how this show promotes gay lifestyles
I am not a fan of your video. I think Steaven Universe is disgusting. I also think you look like a serial killer. I hope you continue to make more videos dispite my disagreement of your opinion.
Lmao. Weak boi
Shoot, Amanda! You got me. It was a pretty lame insult. To Nerd's Eye, I never was a big fan of Steaven Universe because I really did not like Pearl, Steaven, and the purple one, I cannot spell her name off the top of my head. I really only like Rebecca Sugar's forgive and forget attitude for the villians. I dislike Steavan U less as of now. There are more important things to be concern in this world. Thanks you for the reply and have a good day to both of you.
Nerd' s eye view it’s less that the lack of gender is a nuanced thought experiment and more that it is a great way to get around censorship. It’s why the gems present as female so that you can associate them as being woman but keep the backstory such that censorship boards can’t complain. Doing this allows them to introduce concepts like non heterosexual and non monogamous relationships to a younger audience but allow them to get around censorship guidelines. This is similar to how the 90s Spider-Man wasn’t allowed to punch so all fights focused on him incapacitating opponents in other ways. Pulling a wall down on them or webbing them up. You’re allowed to believe what you will I’m just stating what has been said by animators and creators.
Best animated show ever?? Great video, you deserve more views!
You have an extremely nice and calming voice : )
I really enjoyed this! Thanks.
To me, Stevannie is a chick or at the very least a hermaphrodite/futanari & I only use that "they/them" bullshit to shut everyone up.
remember when we had courage the cowardly dog, ed, edd, n eddy, invader zim. now we got tumblr shit like this.
Fuck you
The good ole days
sofacus Cowardly dog was good but StevenUniverse is great to (in my opinion)
Nah... those were good... but this show teaches many lessons and helps with problems
sofacus Agree
But I thought there were only two genders.
Nope, there's at least 19.
You are right tbh
I'm a progressive liberal, BTW. I'm not attacking anyone, just kidding.
Yokai I never really meant to seem like I was attacking. I am more into the science of it and not feelings. Genderfluid is okay but honestly everything else is kinda weird to me (besides trans but that isn't a gender).
life is confusing
<3 Keep it going
keep it up tjomi :)
I was thinking, "Why does this guy only have 7 subscribers?" and then I saw that you just started on UA-cam lol. Welcome to the community friend! Hope to see more from you.
