What's life like in retirement?
Well, for me, I do what I've had a long-time interest in....woodworking!
This plus a little golf for fresh air, exercise and hanging out with my buddies!
That's basically the reason for most uploads on this channel.
So pls 'smash' those Like & Subscribe buttons and I hope to get 10k subscribers by year end! 😜
More Kumiko projects coming your way! (spoiler alert?)
Cheers & Peace!

Jon what course is this?
Just a local 9H public course in my hometown, Johor Bahru.
I know I'm about a year behind, but do you sell plans on how to make this? I would really like to know the measurements and step-by-step! 😊
Hi @loligney1976 , I'm sorry I don't have the plans for this build anymore. However here's the basic size of the lamp, if it can be of any help. Lamp face itself is 50cm X 50cm. Depth is 12cm. The Kasagi is carved from a 10mm plank measuring 72cm X 7cm. Frame is made from 20mm Sq wood rods. I made the front and 2 sides of kumiko panels after making the frame to get a good fit to assemble without having to use nails or screws or glue. Add on LED strips and u r done! You can slow down the speed of my video to check out my step-by-step biuld. Hope this helps!🤓
Jon did you build from scratch or was the frame pre-cut/ a kit?
Build from scratch. i.e. 20X20 (verticals) & 10X10 (horizontals) wood bought from local hardware stores. As always d 2nd time round seem easier bc u know wat to expect! Only hav to improv on design of shoji panels.
Nice work Jon!
Can i have one too, Kor?? 🙏
Very nice! Thank you 🐝
Naise!!! 🤎
I would enjoy your video much more if you would not use so much fast motion, please.
Very nice! I usually like to fast forward through longer videos. This was so peaceful and relaxing to watch all the way through.
Beautiful work, Jon.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

cold you speed it a bit
You can speed it up yourself via the video player settings.
I would like to see his dreamscape....
Beautiful! Are there plans to make this?
Thx for yr comment, Joe. I dont really follow a specific plan as I don't mass-produce. But the basic is tat the main frame is made up of 20X20 (verticals) & 10X10 (horizontals). length of vertical is 300mm. The plan tat u see at 2:50 is for the kumiko panels (4 on sides) Depending on wat size of wood strips available to u, I draw the panel to size with external measurements to fit wat measurements u got after u assembled the main frame. I use 5X12 strips. Hope tis helps.😉
+ my panel size to fit the main frame opening is 135 X 200 (ish).
Thank you!
nice project, good job!
Well done!❤️
Jon WOW Mighty fine craftsmanship. Those saws! A pleasure to watch!
Cheers Tom. Glad u like it.😊
