Yes it is.. some people have very real fears and phobias of animals b/c of their unpredictable nature. I'm scared of bugs, clowns, porcelain dolls, etc.. it's not something we can help. You should try to be more understanding. My psychology professor could faint if a bird landed near him. It's just a fear and it can't be helped. Fears of different things are very extremely normal.

That's easy for you to say, but for the person with the fear it's not that easy. I'm scared to death of bugs, clowns, and porcelain dolls. To you, it's nothing, to us, it's a very real fear. Why does anyone like or dislike anything, why are some afraid and some are not? There's no answer. You just gotta respect that when someone tells you they're afraid that they mean it and you should respect their boundary and their fear and help ease their mind. If I were ever cornered by a cicada, clown, or porcelain doll I'd pass out. It is what it is and we just ask for understanding. It's funny to ya'll and hell, some of this was funny to me, but I understood his fear. He has his, I have mine, lol.

Just b/c you have no problem doesn't mean someone else won't. I'll straight up pass out if cornered by a cicada, clown, or porcelain doll. It's not funny. It is to someone else who isn't afraid, but to the person with the fear, it's absolutely horrifying.

Because he knows his dogs, he doesn't know this one. I've had it happen to me that someone else's dog attacked me AFTER I was told, don't worry, they won't bite, they're just a big loveable teddy bear. Well, I was attacked by that animal. You don't know what animals is going to attack and when or why. He's alright to be afraid of a strange dog.

Easy to say when you don't have that fear. I'm scared to death of bugs, particularly cicadas. I'm afraid of clowns and porcelain dolls. I might even pass out if ever cornered by em. Just b/c YOU don't have the fear doesn't mean that someone else doesn't have a very real fear. Respect it, understand it, and don't force it. You can traumatize someone. I think I'd probably even go as far as to have a heart attack if a clown touched me. I'd straight up have a heart attack and die.

Just because YOU don't have a fear of insects and animals, it doesn't mean that someone else won't. Your "schtick" is someone else's very real, very valid fear. To you, it's nothing. To me, I'd fall over dead of a heart attack if every touched by ANY of one of those things. Just b/c you're not afraid doesn't mean someone else isn't or that they shouldn't be.

@mrswilliamstoyou3325 There are things one should be afraid of: lions, and tigers, and bears, falling from heights, drowning, car crashes, etc. These are normal things rational people should fear. That being said, if you wanna spend your life in abject fear of absolutely harmless things (porcelain dolls??) have at it. But you're never gonna convince me to accept your pathology as "normal," especially when there are ways to deal with phobias. For example: you probably have a traumatic event in your past which has become associated with dolls. The adult and rational thing to do is enter into therapy to work that out and grow in the process. It's NOT to just say, "oh well, guess i'll be freaked out by dolls till i die," and then expect the world to accommodate your phobia. So no, I don't have to respect any such nonsense.

What's annoying is that some people don't understand the very real fear some people have of certain things. He's scared of insects and animals. I'm scared of insects (cicadas in particular) as well as clowns and porcelain dolls. To you, it's nothing. To him, to me, it's horrifying. It is what it is. Understand and respect that some people have very real fears regardless of how irrational it is to you.

I'm afraid of bugs, too. I'm also afraid of clowns and porcelain dolls. Just b/c you're not afraid doesn't mean someone else won't be. Bugs are creepy crawly and animals are unpredictable. I don't blame him. I don't judge him. Everyone has something they're afraid of. Just b/c it's irrational to you doesn't mean it's not absolutely horrifying for others to be faced with the things they fear the most.

Not true. I'm a teacher. And I've had plenty of students run away screaming from a butterfly. Or a fly. A cricket. A spider. Everything.
