Cost and Performance Considerations when ingesting data into Microsoft Fabric
Hello, Please what if i wanted to do a count. I.e as long as the last stock was not blank or zero, i want a count
Very nice, thanks for posting. I will definitely use it now I know how it works!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video
4:10 "We didnt see any growth" brother u just sjipped over the 4 year recovery of the us from the GLOBAL ECONOMY COLLAPSE IN 2008! The only reaso. The economy looked good during bush is CUZ of the fraud and bs going on with morgages and loans in the US. The fact that we bounced back within Obamas first term was a miracle and how effectice his legislative plan was. U summing up his entire first term as "dont count, we were in the red" is insame, look at th3 slope in the graph compared between trump and obama. Sure trumps number is literally higher. But his slope over 4 yeads is pitiful. Even with consideration for covid. Which he CHOSE to not respond to for months, only making the issue worse for the economy, EVEN IF! his numbers are lack luster and he simply just spent a lot and didnt even start new programs. He just made the rich richer and the poor pooerer. Those who ciulsnt get a home DEFINETLY cant now, and the tarrifs are inly going to raise the bottom dollar of US corps, not the average worker. Idk man, it seems like u had all the tools in this presentstion and simply chose to not use actual statistics snd just went on feel.
Im having the exact same issue... Im using wait commands in my pipelines to give that sync job time to finish, but sometimes it keeps failing. Can you please share the code?
Great video, I really enjoyed! Have you done a video on how an end user would use this tool? Does there need to be a custom front end built for users to ask questions?
its really useful, but i wanted to change the starting position name and the ending position name dynamically. could you please help me how can we do that?
I tried your code, but the synchronization still fails. After carefully reviewing the situation, I found that during synchronization, there are unfinished endpoint queries. If certain deletion commands are executed in the Lakehouse at this time, these queries may get stuck for hours. During this period, all synchronizations will fail. Therefore, I believe your code needs to include logic to kill all running endpoint queries.
This is awesome, thank you for sharing these videos :)
Why it is not working in service
Please share that code sir
You said this was a Microsoft visual - but its by Inforiver
It is part of Microsoft app source. Sorry if that caused any confusion.
Good stuff, I am not able to find your visual from the PowerBI visuals window. Tried a couple different variations.
Try this link to app source - appsource.microsoft.com/sr-latn-rs/product/power-bi-visuals/xviz.inforiver-superfilter?tab=overview
Congratulations for your channel. I am trying to do a waterfall chart in Power BI with subtotals, is there a way? Can you make a video explain it? Thank you very much.
Perfect solution. Thanks
thank you for sharing your knowledge, this was very helpful! Also, do you know if there's any way to order the "impact" columns with this new logic you created? The way it is atm, they are ordered by value (greatest to lowest), but I wanted them to stay in a fixed order
Exactly what I was looking for.. step by step explanation of the whole code and the purpose behind the code.. basically to get the wholesome idea
Is it possible to access on-premises database systems using Fabric notebooks?
No. It doesn't
Thanks you so much for sharing, this is absolute GOLD! I've been looking for a way to do this programmatically call this refresh for a while as we are seeing very long delays which are hard to predict and work with. I was at the Fabric Conference in Stockholm in September and this was the number 1 issue folks were complaining about. Microsoft has not solution other the recommendation to raise a ticket! Really appreciate you sharing the code here!
Hello, your videos are really great. I have a question because I see that the power bi profile in your course only considers one product revenue, but in this video you seem to be able to forecast for multiple products from Prod 0001 to Prod 0126. How to do it? Thank you in advance.
Awesome video, This helps a lot to create navigation button in BI, Any idea if we can make similar button for bookmark ?
While I was trying with excel files it says fast copy is not supported please help me with an answer. TIA
can you please share template with data plugged in.
Hi there, can you please share your script for us to learn, evaluate and run?
I am trying to reproduce this, but i don't have to create a category table, my categories is a dimension that already exists -> Region I am trying to create a waterfall to explain how the Delta Actual 2024 to Budget 2024 breakdowns by regions. As measures I have : Sales 2024 Budget 2024 Delta = Sales - Budget As dimension I have : Region could you help me?
Actually I used my brain and Managed : Delta = Switch(selectedvalue(Waterfall[Walksort]), 1, Switch(SELECTEDVALUE('MD IMP Customer (Sales View)'[Region]), "EMEA",-1*[Delta to Budget 2024 abs.], "APAC",-1*[Delta to Budget 2024 abs.], "North America",-1*[Delta to Budget 2024 abs.], "LATAM",-1*[Delta to Budget 2024 abs.], [Budget Sales 2024 CHF] ), 2, Switch(Selectedvalue('MD IMP Customer (Sales View)'[Region]), "EMEA",0, "APAC",0, "North America",0, "LATAM",0, [Actual Sales CHF 2024] ) ) Thanks a lot for your video
Thank you for this video, it helped me with my charts, but do you know how I can manually sort the x axis? I noticed that the declines are always on the right hand side and I want my x axis to be manually sorted
This is great. I'm wondering if it is possible to also generate a YTD measure that calculated the cumulative sum of the forecast measure so companies can determine if they will meet their end of year targets based on the forecast. I've been trying but keep running into issues and errors. Any suggestions?
what I have done for this is to create a measure that uses SUMX over the values of the future weeks (or months, depending on the granularity of your analysis) up to end of year. That will give you the cumulative total of the forecast. Hope this makes sense
thing is when i change the values the soting is always from top breakdown to bottom by value how to avoid that? like breakdown A=100 is always before (to the left) breakdown B=50 i would like them to have places on axis i choose
Hello, ty for your video. But I already saw the impacts calculate by another form. Instead consider Price and Volume LY, they consider TY. Like this: Price Impact = Delta P x Vty Volume Impact = Delta V x Pty Mix Impact = - Delta P x Delta V Do you know why? And there is another way to calculate the mix imapact and volume impact that I didnt understand very well, do you know this form? Mix impact = ((Volume Unit. TY / Volume Total TY) - (Volume Unit. LY / Volume Total lY)) x (Price Unit LY - Avarege Total Price LY) x Volume Unit TY please help me.
Best video on this topic on YT!
Hello, I am currently one of the owners of a subscription, I created a Fabric Capacity in Azure, I started the capacity in a new Workspace. However, after uploading folders to my Lakehouse, I noticed that ""Manage Data Access"" option does not appear. Am I doing something wrong, or should I enable something that I don't know?
This was very helpful; I appreciate the point of view of a seasoned developer such as you.
Can you share the calculations used to determine cost impact?
Thanks for the video I keep seeing references to direct lake "automatically refreshing when the data changes" Can the Direct Lake connection mode replace Direct Query for live/real-time data reporting? Or are these updates only visible when hitting the refresh button/reloading the report/webpage?
so the query to PBI semantic model is essentially SQL query to tables, how about the measure, calculation, relationships between tables, and the metadata?
Is the GO button necessary? Anyway to do this with just one click each time?
Much appreciated. I’m running into an issue where the sequence of the market basket is not always the same despite containing the same products. For example 243-345 vs 345-243. I tried to add a sort step on Product ID in power query but does not seem to remedy the DAX Logic. Any thoughts on how to output a consistent market basket sequence would be appreciated.
Well done for finding the solution and thank you for sharing it. Could you please explain why it is so tricky and how did you find that out?
Great video! Would it be possible to get the PBIX file you used? I'd love to explore it further!
Try yourself.
this is nice, learned this a few years back. perhaps you can add to this the positives and negatives of continuous vs categorical. and does it matter if you use start or end of month? i use end. And is there user education needed when you hover over data points? I struggle with making dynamic charts that will correspond to the date range selected. ie I have book marks for All Years, CY , CY-1, Last Month Current Month, Last 10 days. Each trys to display chart and matrix for that matter in correct manner. ie Last 10 days, CM and LM drill down to day level. All Years show continuous, CY shows my month
Nice video.I assume page and page navigation tables are disconnected tables which control the behaviour of page navigation and not filtering the data.
DO YOU NEED SEO EXPERT FOR YOUR CHANNEL IT WILL HELP YOU TO GROW YOUR CHANNLE
One thing to be aware of as well: on small capacities you are very limited in concurrent spark sessions, so a long running notebook will block other notebooks or Lakehouses.
Great point!
Thank you for putting together the course. where can I find the code/file?
There is a link in the description of the video, but I will also share it here:www.obvience.com/time-series-forecasting There if you go through the lesson, you will find the link to the PowerBI Desktop models for the start and the end of the exercise
I wish You explained it more deeply to understand why it works
Hi, I just wanted to say "Thanks" for taking the time to make this Hands-on Course & share the Data Model. It took me a while to figure, why your Seasonality Dax code was not working in my model: Your "Revenue Data" is already grouped by "Start of Week" Date and not on a daily basis. Might be helpful for others too.
You are very welcome.. the data in the fact table is at the week grain, but if you have a week start date in the date dimension, then you just drag that into your chart and the rest of the calc should work in any scenario, having a month start date and week start date attributes in your Date dimensions come in very handy
@@KnowledgeBankPro Ok. I will check. But as far as my Dax knowledge goes, it is not so easy to sum up the"Sales Forecast" Results on monthly or quarterly base (because both measures are calculated on weekly base) Or am I mistaking here?
@@Frentzenable the only dependency is what is the grain of your Actuals. As long as it's daily, you can easily make it weekly or monthly, but just dragging WeekStartDate or MonthStartDate from the Date dimension, that will convert your actuals to Weekly or Monthly and then you can use my logic for forecast
Not exactly what I was looking for. However, it did help me a great deal. I am trying to replicate pipeline created by data engineer couple of years ago (they have left since then). In place of arm template deployment, they are using Copy Files to X location and then Publish Artifact. Not sure, how that works but your video helped me understood other things around that.
