Guidelines and Expectations at Skelly Build
Every plumbing house should have someone like this to explain stuff to homeowners. Clear, precise, and yet in layman's terms anyone can understand. Well done.
Cast iron known to last 60-100 years when properly installed and maintained. PVC tends to fails after about 20-30 years. Glue joints go out and pvc get brittle and cracks
Not true. Cast builds up rust and corrosion always clog and rust
@@MichaelSmith-uy4uihe’s correct. I own houses built in 1890s-1940s and all but one have cast and I haven’t had any issues.
Very good speaking skills. This was created with minimal takes due to your ability to keep thoughts logically flowing in sequence.
American homes are not built tough enough...
Yes of course you did all of that…
Well, Cast Iron is commonly used up to today. Nothing is wrong with Cast Iron.
That’s a big NO on that concrete tear out!
Hi great job as a homeowner understanding the weaknesses of cast iron but I will correct you respectfully on a few things cast iron is still Largely used today for different reasons one of them being it’s strength as you mentioned before buried underground these bell and hub connections can shift and not crush under weight of the dirt and not crack as easy as plastic also cast iron is used indoors sometimes in large buildings because it is quite when water runs through it it’s also used today still because it’s resistant to extremely high temperatures that may be dumped down a drain in industrial applications it’s also resistant to certain chemicals. Also not all companies need to jackhammer the floor like my company we have Trenchless options like pipe liners and pipe bursting
We are gonna have to do something soon even though we can’t really afford $30,000 (my estimate) for replacing old cast iron pipe in slab 1,200 sq ft home. Is the pipe liner really worth it? I’ve heard they fail… what’s your take… and what is the other “bursting” ?
Excellent vid!
I would think descale and coat the pipes would be cost effective and less disruptive. Keep the cast iron in the bathroom, plastic pipes are noisy and will drive you nuts with every flush.
Wow. Okay. Well done.
How do you delete an old builder from app I'm a sub contractor
How long is the stack pipe?
Senseless to destroy the integrity of the slab and foundation . Go with cipp lining . It’s a no brained ! It’s typically Trenchless and be completed in 3 to 4 days ! No destruction of flooring or concrete slab also you don’t dissect your slab and foundation that would weaken the integrity of both !
very attracive
So good. Well done 👍! Thanks for the visuals :)
very nice.
That cast iron isn’t gonna remove itself LoL just sell the house LoL
Lose the nose ring
Lmao, little school girl who doesn’t t know her ass from a whole in the ground ass far as cast iron or plumbing in general goes for that matter is suppose to be “schooling” the homeowners on why it’s bad and should be replaced with pvc. This is gunna be a nightmare. FYI though schoolgirl, since you really don’t know shit and just taking your information off google I’ll let you know as a REAL plumber we still use cast iron for certain installs and always use cast iron for our soil stacks as it’s much more quiet than pvc.
get 2 work women lol
you can also use ABS pipe depending on your local codes
Isn't ABS much stronger than PVC?
Must be a good money charged for its a lot work
What giant waste of time. When we are already busy as shit in this industry. Just leaches 500.00 a month to add little animations and colors to our calendar and notepads. We write our bids on 2x4s if we have to. Same with a to do list. That I can access 100x faster than waiting for your shit to upload. We don't care if it looks fancy and hi tech. THIS IS A SCAM. Just another waste of space company like realtors sucking off our industry.
I’ve been trying enormously to find a video that will lead me to hands on on repiping my house, and get anything but a bunch of theory instead of the process,
Don’t even try reliving your house, guarantee you fuck something up and will have to pay three times the amount instead of you just let a professional like me do it
@@jeffdinkleburg4773 wrong.. u ain't doing anything special that a mechanically inclined person can't do.. only difference is u might be able to do it faster..
What should be an educational guestimate for replacing castiron with ABS / PVC for an under 2000 sq feet house with 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets, (House is built on crowling space, so I assume easy access to all pipes down to the yard, before meeting city's outflow)? Just curious and please if you know the answer or have any kind of the figure in your mind, do not run away from saying it because... Thx
In Austin, $20,000+
It really depends on the crawl space the 18’’ min is often ignored, if you have a clear 24’’ front to back it’s going to cost 1/2 as much as a 12’’ to 18’’ crawl. Also the main under the house may dive a bit under ground, if it’s buried it’s going to have to be dug up w a coffee can more or less. Often it’s no back filled and goes through/under the foundation around. 12’’ to 18’’. This is alway the case. A clean crawl space, with no cat mess makes a difference too.
* not always
Can you create scopes of work with this?
You provided a very clear explanation and the visuals are self explanatory as to why a homeowner might want to replace the cast iron in stages. Thank-you.
This is amazing software. But dude... 500 a month... Geesh. Seems over the top and some. I think 500 a year is probably fair.
Actually Hydrojetting is too much stress on a deteriorating cast iron drain pipe..
cap still have cast iron on the lavatory drain
wow. what a renovation! i've heard of tearing down to the studs but I never imagined tearing out trenches in the slab to replace piping. how can this possibly be cost effective? how is the foundation tied back together? is it stable? for how long? i've seen reroutes done with underground trenches, but this is extreme. how can this be cheaper than tear down and rebuild?
Wtf are you taking about dude? It’s all tied back together when the floor is poured back in. People do this all the time? There is nothing extreme about it your just a simpleton
Remodeling is many times much cheaper than tearing down. The permitting process, alone, will take many months to tear down and rebuild.
Did you replace the water lines that are underground, they also will go bad.
so helpful. Thanks Victor!
what's up Victor!
Is this any good for non-home building construction? We build underground fuel tanks and they want me to adapt buildertrend for our company. How customizable is it?
I would imagine it could be used for any construction. The pre-set features are for home building (even through we didn't use the pre-set feature, we created them ourselfs).
Excellent video, Im about to work with this software, do you have more tutorials ?
The estimate is created in BuilderTrend. Alternatively, you can import an estimate if you already use another program.
Great video! Watching to learn more about the software. I was wondering if the estimate shown in the end of the video was completed in buildertrend software or if it was imported from another program? Is there an option to estimate in buildertrend?
