Janet marvellous as always. The real surprise to me is Patricia Kern. I always knew her only from the recording of Merrie England by German where she sings a role that really doesn't show off her voice. But here... she got it all. What a wonderful mezzo-soprano.

The tempo in "Il brando invitto" is a bit odd. They seem to be battling and can't decide on the tempi.

Martine Dupuy is a revelation in this recording. I thought she was quite meh in Adalaide di Borgogna. But here wonderful.

Reyes’s Sigurd is a great opera, sadly there are no complete recordings - it should be staged more! I’ll be seeing it in Marseille in April 2025 …

Ho scoperto da pochissimo il compositore Auber, e le sue opere che ho ascoltato sono tutte molto interessanti, ma questa è quella che mi è piaciuta di più! Auber è secondo me il Rossini francese ! 😊🎉😂

Ho scoperto da pochissimo Auber, e le sue opere mi sono piaciute tantissimo, per la coloratura intensa e vivace, la freschezza e la luminosità che emanano. Quest'opera andrebbe rappresentata più spesso, mentre invece si parla solo della Manon Lescaut di Puccini. 😢💯🌹🎼

Could you please give more information about the singers of the 2007 Benini's recording? I found on internet that in the year 2007 there's a recording with Benini but it is in French, not in Italian...

What’s the point of posting this? Gedda is in late career mode, a bad night. I have bad performance of Corelli, Pavarotti, Tebaldi, Milnes and many more and they will NEVER see the light of day. Nobody will ever hear them. It’s insulting to the legacy’s of these great artists. Gedda has just one bad performance, and you have to post it for likes. Pathetic.

Ich habe die Feen in meinen anderen Aufnahmen schon häufig gehört. Aber es fällt mir jetzt erst auf, das Arindals Lied vor Adas Statue bereits leichte Anklänge an Tannhäusers Bitte an Venus im Tannhäuser hat. Klingt zwar auch noch stark nach Weber oder Marschner, statt Wagner, aber an der Stelle zeichnet sich erstaunlicherweise bereits der Tannhäuser ab.
