i got a 73 1120 as well i cant seem to down shift it at all what is the trick? nice rebuild btw !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mine is a 73 1120 diesel with jd 143 loader!

i hope one i get to o the same to mine! ... i own a 1973 1120 diesel same as you with 143 loader!..... is your serial number 1120b? if its b its a 73! also thats not the original tach ... original tack is a yellow neddle and the 540 pto rpm spec is green

One advantage of ( among several ) would be the smoothness of the Detroit compared to the jerky operation of any two cylinder. Fergieman

We used 1968 2510 as the main tractor on the farm for many years , and we loved it and pulled with it , It did well,in spite lack of weights on the tractor,because it was well balance.

Our 2520 and my 720 were our powerhouses on this farm. We had the farm sale in ‘86 and sold the 720. I really regret that.
