Yes! Well said. I am very frustrated with their sales approach. I run a sales team and I also manage the admin and support resources for Salesforce. Salesforce has convinced the IT and support team that our sales team should be taking Trailblazer training. Maybe I am wrong but Trailblazer training seems suited for the support resources NOT the actual sales team. The sales team needs to sell. The have extremely high goals. We need the tool (Salesforce/Lightning) to do the CRM job we bought it to do. We don't need our Sales team to be distracted by technical training to develop the tool. And Oh by the Way, they are so high priced we are all feeling backed into a corner and if there is another option, people will jump on it.
Hey Robin, it's Adam. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. Unfortunately, your frustration with Salesforce's sales approach is not atypical. I know that might not make you feel any better but the vast majority of the companies I work with (small, medium, and large) are dealing with very common sales tactics like penetrating as many departments within the organization to ultimately achieve their objective of selling more product. This is not to say that Salesforce products aren't the right fit or a good solution for these companies, but Salesforce could certainly approach the sales process better. It all comes down to resetting the rules of engagement and knowing what a "good" deal (including price) looks like.
Hmmm...your Salesforce questions sound really similar to your Microsoft questions. I agree that your challenges are appropriate for any technology partner with a recurring revenue model. Thanks!
