Good for you for exploring truck camping. I have followed a man called MAV. He initially built out a full bed storage unit. But it didn't work for sitting up. So he built out a raised platform for half the truck for his bed and used some of the other side of the truck for his equipment. He left some open space in between the bed and the other side of the truck so we can sit up. That's been the best build that I've seen for your kind of truck set up. I hope this is helpful to you to get some ideas for what you might like

if you lower the bad you will loose valuable storage space. if you can sit on your cooler or some other thingy then you can use your bed as a table. There is so many variations. I like the simplicity of the folding bed. Done! Get out and enjoy.

What I did when I went out in my truck was I made a simple box screwed to the floor. Inside it was a section that held my cooler, beside it storage then covered with hinged boards which I slept on. Across was a small table that held my stove at the front of the box close to the slider for ventilation / heat / cooking. Having a raised topper will save a lot of neck and back pain having to craw out of your sleeping bag, and leaving enough room between the bed so that you can kneel while you open the lid to the cooler / storage with out hitting the stove. I loved it and so did my dog, but add a wife, and things did not work out so now I have a small trailer.

Get a Cattle Guard on front for engine protection

Wonder if you could cut the legs then use a strong PVC Pipe to cover and for Couple bucks for easy cheap fix for Now Strength 😁

I was a little confused by your idea for the tire and stuff, wondering why you wouldn't just fix the most likely rusted cable and keep it there? You started to lose me at the sardines but I was holding hope. The you said you'd never had an RC Cola and I about lost it. It's like pb&j....they just go together! Use a good olive oil for frying the fish. Afterwards, sprinkle the fish with some salt to taste while it is still hot.

It's great that you got the engine running again. As it is currently not running smoothly, a little tip. When you open the housing, there is a small screw directly above the fuel line that goes into the engine. With small turns you can adjust the air-fuel mixture so that it runs optimally again at idle speed.

Bro if you're going to torture test some knives really put effort into it man like come on you're barely stabbing the knives into the wood you're barely putting any real Force when you're trying to baton
