My name is Dan Essaf and I am here because I am passionate about music and I want to share that passion with you! I have been playing music for over twenty years alongside writing music and picking up other instruments along the way. What I am going to teach you is how to play guitar, ukulele, piano, music theory, the blues, music software, songwriting tips, soloing, riffs, cover songs, and more!

This is great quality content. Shocked you have only 73 subs at time of posting this. If I could offer some advice in the form of a request: please try ducking the background music when you are instructing or actively playing, or try just using it for intro/outro. Thanks for the exercise, and I look forward to more videos!
Thanks a lot! I've only been posting since January so a lot of trying new things with videos. UA-cam is a slow build sometimes for sure. I definitely tried higher volume for music in this one to experiment and the comment clearly shows not to do that haha. Thanks for the constructive criticism! I definitely have more videos on the way!

Start on an acoustic and the strength of your fingers will cause your fingers to bend an electrics strings all over, start on an electric and you won’t have the strength to play an acoustic. Over time you can play both.

Accurate exept if you want the most authentic fell you need to only play downstrokes like Johnny (Yes i know your wrist will be sore)
I agree 100% you want that bassy sound with those downstrokes (would be how I would play it live). However I would say for beginners it’s easier to keep that rhythm and length of playing going with alternating strums.
