DCS F14 Carrier Landing Attempt 3 (3 Wire)
Переглядів 3922 місяці тому
Continuing with the previous videos, I am just posting my progress with the F14 in CASE I after a long break from DCS. This time I am landing on the USS Forrestal. Deviated pretty far right, but I was able to correct and still grab a 3-wire surprisingly. 0:00 Downwind 1st Attempt 1:30 Own Waveoff 4:25 Bolter 6:00 Final Landing (3 Wire)
Was The Admiral Watching on That?

I realized at the last minute my DLC flaps stowed themselves, once redeployed, "landed" on the carrier deck and even got a 3-Wire!

My second carrier landing attempt after returning to DCS after a long hiatus. This CASE I landing attempt is on the Syria Map.
DCS F14 Carrier Landing Attempt 1-Very Hard Landing
Переглядів 14 тис.2 місяці тому
Putting a little bit of a beating on the Tomcat's landing gear. First carrier landing in months. A little bit a slam down on deck. This carrier landing is on the Persian Gulf map in DCS.
Can you spell simulator?
Any landing is a good landing! Kinda like throwing a NFL pass on 2 things can happen and only one is good!!!
Been trying to learn landings too. Have not even gone to proper case 1 pattern yet though! My videos are on my channel, I’m playing VTOL VR. Keep at it and good luck!
Did you use TrackIR?
@@19sebi88 Yes, I use TrackIR when I fly
u need toi use the direct lift control(DLC) its a spting loaded wheel on the left side of the stick you use with your right thumb.
super realista el video felicitaciones,,, prety realistic i love it
If you need help learning the Tomcat....Hit me up.
@@daviddatcrazydude9744 Definitely! Yeah, I was saying this to a few other people too, but I think the 3.5 G abeam of the carrier is what gets me I definitely need to practice that some more. I can reliably get it on the boat, but it ain’t pretty lol.
Do you provise f14?
Hey, a 2-wire is pretty solid man, good job.
Appreciate it!
Use your velocity vector and your AoA bracket to aim at your touch down point on the carrier. Keep your velocity vector inside the E bracket and no greater than 750 feet a minute decent l descent.
I think what got me in this "landing" was that the DLC got stowed at some point lol. I avoid using the hud for the most part since (as per the real Tomcat) it has a very low refresh rate I mostly try to use the AoA indicator and the vertical velocity indicator with the nav screen. It's been easier said than done finding the groove I think the part that screws me up usually is the 3.5 G break into the downwind. I definitely need more practice in the F14.
@@Grandad1232 the 3.5G break can be a little difficult to master. especially without forced feedback. keep practicing and you'll get better. big thing is developing those good habits now. easier to develop good habits now than to break bad habits later.
@ Yeah, I was getting decent at it (wouldn’t say good at it lol) last winter when I was last getting into DCS again. Definitely a perishable skill. I feel like I’m seeing improvements in just the past week I’ve been flying again.
@@Grandad1232 it certainly is. keep at it.
just get right speed....a bit trim out and easy landing also with ils 🥳
That was a rough one~
Did you hit the back?
@@PebbleCat_Studios Yeah, I smacked the gear on the back of the deck. For some reason the DLC flaps stowed while in the final turn and by the time I noticed and put them back out it was too late. I pulled them out put them full forward and it just put me into a stall onto the deck when I gunned the throttle.
@@Grandad1232 that would explain your E-bracket dropping like that. still a landing you'd walk away from.
Looks like you were high on initial. 800ft at the break, 600ft abeam. You were also high abeam, which put you high in the groove. TTLLIG [HX] LULX LULIM LULIC OC --- 2 Wire. Keep it up!
@@miyagi404gaming Thanks! Yeah I’m a bit rusty on it I really feel like I need to work on my flat turns in the break it feels like when I pull the full 3.5G’s into the break the jet wants to go to the moon lol
ball needs to be near the center u were very high lol
Oh, I know lol Like I said giving that landing gear a beating lol
bit of a hard landing, i guess DCS cant waive him off
@@sgtnasty It can, I’m not sure why the LSO wasn’t speaking on that one it seems sort of hit or miss at times. I was mostly doing it just for fun. First landing on a carrier deck in a long time, and I wanted to see how much of a beating the gear could take lol. Hope you enjoyed the video!
Well the balls on your chin
Nice landing man. :3
Thanks!
