The Anonymous Punter
Germany
Приєднався 9 січ 2007
A collection of Irish trad tunes and the occasional dj mix. I use this channel to refresh my mind on the tunes I have previously learned and to see how my progress is coming along year by year.

Thought I would give Drum & Bass a lash because I love that too.

So the punter has decided to learn how to make his own techno tracks. This is the third one. The sound of hopelessness pitifully seeping its way through the relentless pounding beat. That is what the punter likes.

The first set we played together, it’s always a great warm up for the the rest of the gig! This was at the Frankfurt Irish festival 2024 last Sunday. Cheers!
Tunes I played - Fleadh Cheoil Wexford 2024 (Senior Mouth Organ).

I just thought that I would share the tunes that I played when I got second place at the senior mouth organ comp this year. This was a big step up for me as it was my second time competing and last year I got third at the Munster Fleadh. It was great to meet some of the other players but unfortunately I had a bad hangover so I didn't stay long. Played on two Suzuki Humming in A and G. Jig: The ...

Another tune from The Trip to Cullenstown album!
Pete Bate's Hornpipe, Joe Kearn's Favourite - Mouth Organ.

This is a set of hornpipes from the album Trip To Cullenstown. I love these two tunes and the way they played the set. It's been unreal learning the tunes from that album and also great training, because I'm learning them from ear. Forgive the messy sound in the first tune at times, It was a bit tricky lining them up. Cheers!
Cold Frosty Morning - Mandolin & Harmonica.

After the last video I made I've been addicted to practicing playing the harmonica and something else at the same time. Still tricky but it's coming along.

A lovely jig that I learned from a piper at the session in Heidleberg. I've been recently learning to play some tunes with the harmonica rack and mandolin. Pretty tricky but its coming along!

Thanks for the update! The converter doesn't seem to work tough.
I’ll put a new link of the converter I use these days.

Paul got a tremelo in c only want it for ballad songs what way do you play compared to the diatonic cant seem to get thecnotes on it do I play 4 holes as one note and would I be better off with a d
@@gerardkinsella6034 hi man yea you cover 4 holes. Because it’s tremolo, each note has 2 reeds to give it that fuller tremolo sound. It also depends on which key the ballads you want to play are in. You could still play them on the C, only you might be playing them in a different key. I often play tunes that I would normally play on my g, d and a tremolo, on the c just for something different.
I love that most of what you share is Irish trad and then...stuff like this! 😀
@@ChristopherGronlund cheers man, I just happen to love techno too lol
Harvest Home indeed

Can’t stop listening to dis mix
Cheers man, it really is my new favourite genre!
Top notch playing. What make of mandolin is that? It has a really nice woody tone.
Thank you very much Christian! It’s a Siveen mandolin
I bought the book and would love to learn to play this…is it possible to share the tab version of the music please!
Hey man, so the best thing you can do for tab is go to www.thesession.org and find the tune you want a tab for. Copy the abc of the tune and paste it in here michaeleskin.com/abctools/abctools.html. That way you can get mandolin, guitar and all sorts of other tabs for the tunes you want. I do all of this because I can’t read notes..
Hi, Wonderful. What make of mandolin are you playing? Thank you
Hi Sally. That was an old Levin mandolin I found at a second hand shop on Sweden.
❤
Great !
Thank you very much!
Mando and mouth harp the perfect play in your combo !
Scu on Gazza 👏 💯 🎶 🎵
Great triplets 🥳
Cheers Dave!
my favourite track from Stronghold! Kudos for tabs, I'm starting to learn to play mandolin!
Appreciate the feature guys!
No problem at all, I love your music!
My Da used to sit us on his knee when we were babies and sing this to me and my siblings. Never knew what it was called but found it just now by accident at the age of 53. Thanks for this. X
That’s really nice man, thanks for letting me know! It’s a lovely tune alright
I play guitar in a band called The Divine Comedy. Give me a shout the next time we.re playing near you in Germany and I'll sort you for guest list. It's not traditional Irish music. But it's good! Take care and keep up the great work.
@@stereolad7031 Serious?? I would be honoured man... Thanks very much, you too!
Super!
what's the problems at 2:54 and 4:15 called.

Inspirational mate. What key?
Hi man, same one. It's a Tombo 3121 in G.
oo ta@@TheAnonymousPunter
Nicely done can I ask what key your mouthie is in?
Cheers man, it's tombo 3121 in G.
In Paddy's original version, he switches the high F to an F sharp in the first part, as it's not fully in G minor. Lovely playing ❤
Thanks very much!
Perfeito. Parabéns.
Thanks very much. I see now that I could have tuned up a bit better haha.
Masterful, nice work!
Cheers man, that’s very kind
Lovely tune. Thanks and best wishes from Perth Western Australia
Thanks very much Noel! Ah Perth is a nice spot, I spent some time there a few years ago now.
Lovely expressive and sensitive playing! It's called Behind the Haystack.
Thanks very much Joe! I’ll update that name now!
Well done, sounds great!
Thanks Chris!
Excellent!
Thanks very much Rex. I must say, your videos on vamping really helped me when I was first learning the technique. Cheers!

Compelling!
Class, lovely tune.
Thanks man. How u getting on??
@@TheAnonymousPunter good thanks! Enjoying the sun at last!
Oh man it’s unreal isn’t it… finally. That was a long winter
Always my favourite x
Very clever! X
Sounds amazing as always x
Another fire mix from the Punter.
Cheers my friend. Much love
nice song choices
Sound out
That is amazing.
I’m always amazed at how fast and disciplined you are to get TB and vamping up to speed! That’s amazing and sounds so much better than puckering.
dope
Nice one
Cheers Shane
Nice one, I just bought a jaw harp recently, this has inspired me! Thanks for sharing!!
Class man, I love them. I got one in D and one in G just for playing along with some tunes
Love these tunes! The Murphy brother's style jaw flicks are deadly man, well done! Ever tried jaw flicking while tongue blocking? Works just as easy and ya can vamp or accompany yourself as an accordion or melodeon. TBH sometimes I just prefer to play the melody and focus on the melody and forget about vamping. Nice one!!
