Dipper: So we got shotguns and bombs. What the hell are we doing with 'em? Robbie: Well, every few weeks this guard caravan rides through town. I assume they're out looking for supplies. I mean, you'd be amazed at the shit they overlook. Anyway. Few months back, they were rolling through and they get overrun by this horde of infected. They were all over the truck. It plows right into the side of the high school. Still sitting there with the battery in it. Dipper: So we take that battery and put it in another car. Robbie: Bingo. I wanted to get it, but it seemed too dangerous with all the infected on that part of town. But, fuck it… Dipper needs a car. Dipper: What if it's damaged? Robbie: Nah. Those trucks are like tanks. It's just sittin' there. Dipper: Actually might work. [Robbie and Dipper walk over to Riley, still looking at Robbie's magazines.] Robbie: Kid, I swear to God… if you took anything- Riley: Hey, man. I don't need any of your shit. Trust me. Robbie: Dipper, you are keeping an eye on her, right? Dipper: Like a hawk.

Riley: Why don't you just take me back to Priscilla? Dipper: If she was up to the task, why'd she drop you off on us? Riley: Well, maybe she's better now. Dipper: Kid, I don't mean to upset you, but your friend's chances of survival weren't too high to begin with. Riley: She's a lot tougher than you think. Dipper: It don't matter. 'Cause I doubt I could get either one of us back into the city in one piece. Trust me, I wish there was some other option.

(Dipper slept, but frantically wakes up. Riley was sitting, watching at the window) Riley: You mumble in your sleep. I hate bad dreams. Dipper: Yeah, me too. Riley: You know, I've never been this close. To the outside. Look how dark it is. Can't be any worse out there. Can it? Dipper: What on earth do the Agencies want with you? Candy: Hey. Sorry it took so long. Guards fuckin' everywhere. Riley: How's Priscilla? Candy: She'll make it. I saw the merchandise. It's a lot. Wanna do this? Dipper: Yeah. Candy: Let's go.

Riley: How'd I do? Dipper: How 'bout something a... a little more your size. It's for emergencies only. (Dipper gives Riley a handgun) Riley: Okay. [Both Dipper and Riley nod at one another, and Dipper gives the signal to keep on moving, when walking there's something telling him in his heart]

Robbie: Well this goes on record as the worst fucking job you've ever taken. Dipper: Yeah, it's up there. Robbie: How in the hell is Candy okay with this suicide mission? Dipper: It's actually her idea. Robbie: Really? Well, then the broad's not as smart as I thought she was. But… screw her. Seriously, you gotta take that kid back to where ya found her. Dipper: Robbie, I can't just take her back. Robbie: Then send her packing, let her find her own way. Look, let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, I had somebody that I cared about. It was a partner. Somebody I had to look after. And in this world, that sort of shit's good for one thing: gettin' ya killed. So, you know what I did? I wisened the fuck up. And I realized it's gotta be just me. Dipper: Robbie, it ain't… it ain't like that. It's- Robbie: Bullshit. It is just like that- Hey! What did I say to you when we walked down the steps? What'd I say?! Riley: I'm just fixing your stupid pile! Robbie: Don't. Touch! [Riley scoffs and blows Robbie a raspberry.] Robbie: Goddammit. You keep babysitting long enough and eventually it's gonna blow up in your face. Dipper: Robbie. Can we please just get on with it? Robbie: Here. Let's get on with it!

Robbie: Well, here we are. You. Don't touch anything. And you close the door. [Dipper complies and closes the cellar doors. They walk into the dark basement as Robbie lights a nearby lamp.] Robbie: Let's gear up. Dipper: Uh-uh. Riley: What? I need a gun. Dipper: No you don't. Riley: Dipper, I can handle myself. Dipper: No. Just… stay here. Riley: Fine. I'll just wait around for you two to get me killed.

[Just as Dipper goes to follow them through the window, a clicker jumps on his back.] Riley: Dipper! Dipper: Shit. Robbie: All right, come on! [Robbie grabs Dipper and pulls him through the window, then kills the clicker with his shotgun.] Riley: Shit! That's not gonna hold. Dipper: Robbie, make it fast! Grab this. [The two barricade the main doors with a metal shelf and hold it in place as Robbie attempts to open the truck's hood.] Dipper: Please tell me you're done! Robbie: It's empty. Dipper: What?! [He moves to the truck, seeing it is empty.] Robbie: It's fuckin' empty! Riley: Guys! Dipper: Robbie, where to? Robbie: Uh. Dipper: Robbie, where?! Robbie: Anywhere but here. [Dipper runs to Riley and pulls her from the door.] Dipper: Get ready to haul ass. C'mon.

[ Dipper jumps out of the hotel window and onto a scaffolding above ground. He looks over and sees a corpse, with a rifle in hand, sitting in a couch. Dipper grabs the rifle. He peers over the edge of the scaffolding, seeing several hunters in the distance.] Hunter #1: They haven't gotten back yet. Dipper: Oh shit! Hunter #2: What the hell is taking 'em so long? Hunter #1: I don't know, they went to check on 'em. For now, we wait. Dipper: Come here. Keep your head down. All right now... I'm gonna jump down there and I'm gonna clear us a path. Riley: What about me? Dipper: You stay here. Riley: This is so stupid. We'd have more a fucking chance if you'd let me help-- Dipper: I am! Now you seem to know your way around a gun. You reckon you can handle that? ( Dipper handled Riley a rifle) Riley: Well, uh, I sorta shot a rifle before. But it was at rats. Dipper: Rats? Riley: With BB's. Dipper: Well, its the same basic concept. Lift it up. All right now, you're gonna wanna lean right into that stock, 'cause that is gonna kick a hell of a lot more than any BB rifle. Riley: Okay. Dipper: Go ahead and pull that bolt back. Grab it right there. Just tug it. There you go. Now as soon as you fire, you're gonna want to get another round in there quick. Listen to me--if I get into trouble down there, you make every shot count. Yeah? Riley: I got this. I won't let you down. Dipper: All right. And just so we're clear about back there... It was either him or me. (Before Dipper jumps, he felt bad for Riley for his attitude with her) Dipper: And Riley... Thank you for saving me. Riley: You're welcome...

Dipper: [Looking up] All right they're gone. Candy: Look-what was the plan? Let's say that we deliver you to the Agencies, what then? Riley: Priscilla … she said that they have their own little quarantine zone, with doctors there still trying to find a cure. Dipper: Yeah, we've heard that before, huh, Candy? Riley: And that… whatever happened to me is the key to finding the vaccine. Dipper: [Annoyed] Oh, Jesus. Riley: It's what she said. Dipper: Oh, I'm sure she did. Riley: Hey, damn you, man! I didn't ask for this. Dipper: Me neither. Candy, what the hell are we doing here? Candy: What if it's true? Dipper: I can't believe- Candy: What if, Dipper? I mean we've come this far, let's just finish it. Dipper: Do I need to remind you what is out there? Candy: I get it.

Dipper: [Inhales sharply.] Well, now what? Candy: We go get our merchandise back. Dipper: [Disbelief.] How? Candy: I don't know. We… explain it to them. Look, let's… let's go find an Agent. Priscilla: You won't have to look very far. [Candy and Dipper are startled and look to see where the voice is coming from. Priscilla walks out of the shadows, holding her bloody side.] Dipper: There you go, Queen Agent. Priscilla: Why are you here? Candy: Business. You aren't looking so hot. Priscilla: Where's Robert? [Candy walks to the side to reveal his bloody corpse by her feet.] Priscilla: I needed him alive. Candy: The guns he gave you? They weren't his to sell, and I want them back. Priscilla: Doesn't work like that, Candy. Candy: The hell it doesn't. Priscilla: I paid for those guns. You want 'em back? You're gonna have to earn 'em. Candy: How many cards are we talkin' about? Priscilla: I don't give a damn about ration cards. I need something smuggled out of the city. You do that - I'll give you your guns back and then some. Dipper: How do we know you got 'em? Way I hear it, the security's been wiping you guys out. Priscilla: You're right about that. I'll show you the weapons. Male guard 1: [Over radio] Search the area. Male guard 2: [Voice] Yes, sir. Priscilla: I gotta move. What's it gonna be? [Eases back.] Candy: I wanna see those guns. Priscilla: Follow me.

Candy: Well, hello, Robert. Robert: Candy. Dipper. No hard feelings, right? Candy: [Clicks teeth] None at all. [Reaches down for a steel pipe.] Robert: [Briefly puts hands up in defense.] All right… [Robert tries to run and Candy bashes his leg with the pipe, causing him to trip and fall to the ground.] Robert: [Groans in pain] Ah… Goddammit! Candy: [Drops pipe] We missed you. Robert: Look, whatever it is you heard, it ain't true, okay? I-I just want to say- Candy: The guns. You wanna tell us where the guns are? Robert: [Gulps] Yeah, sure, but… i-it's complicated, all right? [Candy looks over at Dipper who pushes off from the wall and walks over to Robert.] Robert: Look, all right, just hear me out on this. I got- Ah, fuck! Ah, stop! Stop! Stop! Candy: [Draws handgun] Quit your squirming. You were saying? Robert: [Breathing heavily] I sold 'em… Candy: Excuse me? Robert: I didn't have much of a choice. I owed someone. Candy: You owed us! I'd say you bet on the wrong horse. Robert: I just need more time. Just gimme a week. Candy: You know, I might've done that if you hadn't tried to fucking kill me. Robert: C'mon, it wasn't like- Candy: Who has our guns?! Robert: [Hesitates] I can't… [Dipper and Candy look at one another.] Robert: Look, just give me a couple of da- [Dipper breaks Robert's arm. Robert screams and rolls on his side in agony.] Robert: Fucking… Candy: Who. Has. Our guns? Robert: It's the Agencies. I owed the Agencies! Candy: What? Robert: Look. They're basically all dead. W-we can just-just go in there, finish 'em off. We get the guns! What do ya say? C'mon! Fuck those Agencies! Let's go get 'em! Candy: That is a stupid idea. (Candy shoots Robert)

Riley: Hey, wait. [Dipper stops, turning to face Riley.] Riley: Back in Boston-back when I was bitten-I wasn't alone. My best friend was there. And she got bit too. We didn't know what to do. So… She says, "Let's just wait it out. Y'know, we can be all poetic and just lose our minds together." I'm still waiting for my turn. Dipper: Riley - Riley: Her name was Beth and she was the first to die. And then it was Candy. And then Craz. Dipper: None of that is on you. Riley: No, you don't understand. Dipper: I struggled for a long time with survivin'. And you- No matter what, you keep finding something to fight for. Now, I know that's not what you want to hear right now, but it's- Riley: Swear to me, dad. Swear to me that everything that you said about the Agencies is true. Dipper: I swear. Riley: Okay.

[He climbs up to the ledge above and turns to Riley. He kneels and extends his hand out to her, offering to help her up.] Dipper: Here. I got you. [Riley climbs onto the log and jumps up, grabbing Dipper's hand.]

(Dipper and Riley arrived in Oregon city) Dipper: Well… Looks like we're walking. [Riley stands up from the driver's seat and shuts the door. Dipper walks ahead, a road sign in front of him reading "Oregon City, next right".] Dipper: Should be a straight shot through here. Riley: [Follows] All right. [Dipper approaches a barbed wire fence off the left side of the road.] Dipper: Actually kinda pretty, ain't it? Riley: Yeah. [Dipper props open an opening in between the fence, allowing Riley to pass through.] Dipper: [Riley ducks through the fence] Now watch your head going through. [Riley props open the fence in a similar manner from the other side.] Riley: Here… Got it. Dipper: [Ducks through] Oh… Feelin' my age now. Hmpf. [She lets go of the fence. On the other side, the two of them enter a wooded area. Riley continues to follow Dipper.] Dipper: I don't think I've ever told you, but, uh, Jacklin and I used to take hikes like this. I think, uh… I think the two of you would've been-would've been good sisters. Think you really woulda liked her. I know she would've liked you. Riley: I bet I would've.

(Dipper drives, Riley woke up) Riley: What the hell am I wearing? Dipper: Just take it easy… drugs are still wearing off. Riley: [Rubs her eye] What happened? Dipper: We found the Agencies. Turns out, there's a whole lot more like you, Riley. People that are immune. It's dozens actually. Ain't done a damn bit of good neither. They've actually st-they've stopped looking for a cure. I'm taking us home. I'm sorry.

(Dipper shot her in abdomen, he placed Riley in SUV) Priscilla: Wait! Let me go. Please. Dipper: You'd just come after her. Stay away from my daughter! [Dipper raises his pistol and shoots Priscilla point blank in the head, killing her.]

Priscilla: You can't save her. Even if you get out of here, then what? How long before she's torn to pieces by a pack of clickers? That is if she hasn't been raped and murdered first. Dipper: That ain't for you to decide. Priscilla: It's what she'd want. And you know it. Look… You can still do the right thing here. She won't feel anything.

Dipper: Come on, baby girl. I gotcha… I gotcha… [He pulls Riley off the bed and starts carrying her. Agencies move towards the door, their flashlights beaming into the room.] Oh shit. [He rushes through the emergency exit and runs away from the approaching Agencies.] Get back! Male Agent 1: He's carrying her towards pediatrics! Get up here, now! Male Agent 2: Come on, man. We just want the girl. [Numerous Agencies begin cutting off the various exits as Dipper runs through various rooms, searching for a way out.] Dipper: Shit. Male Agent 3: He's over here! Dipper: I'm getting you outta here, sweetie. I got you. I got you. Male Agent 4: Cover the exits! Dipper: Come on. [Dipper turns a corner and finds Agencies closing in from in front of him.] Dipper: Goddamnit, which way? Male Agent 5: You got nowhere to go. [Dipper runs through a locker room to the right.] Male Agent 6: Go around to the other side! Dipper: [To Riley] We're okay. We're okay… We're okay. We'll get through this, okay? I got you… I got you. [The Agencies corner Dipper in a long corridor.] Male Agent 7: This is your last chance. Drop her, now! [They force Dipper towards an elevator at the end of the hall.] Male Agent 8: I got him in my sights. Dipper: I said get back! [The Agencies start shooting at Dipper, bullets rushing past him as he makes it into the elevator safely.] Dipper: [Presses the ground floor button] C'mon, c'mon. Male Agent 9: Hey! Stop! [The doors close just as the Agencies reach the elevator. The lift starts descending.] Dipper: Oh, God.

[Dipper reaches the surgery prep room at the end of the hallway. He enters to see Riley unconscious on the bed, with three surgeons around her.] Dipper: Sweet Jesus. [The three doctors turn to face him. The head surgeon, Jerry, moves towards Dipper.] Kari: [To Jerry] Doctor? Jerry: What're you doing in here? I won't let you take her. This is our future. Think of all the lives we'll save. Don't come any closer. I mean it. [Dipper grimaces at the surgeon then walks forward, forcing the scalpel from his hand and uses it to stab him in the throat, killing him.] Kari: No! You fucking animal! Male doctor: Kari, shut the hell up! (Dipper looking at them angrily) Dipper: If you lay one finger on my daughter... Male doctor: Okay, okay. Just take the girl and leave!

(Dipper sees through the window and sees the surgery.) Dipper: Yeah, that's it. [Breathes shakily] I'm comin', sweetie. [He backs away.]

Ethan: Get up. [Aims his pistol at Dipper] I said get up. [Dipper slowly gets to his feet.] Go on. Move. [Dipper walks to the door as Ethan trains his gun at him from behind. Dipper slows down.] Ethan: I said move. [He pushes Dipper forwards. Dipper slowly gets angry and turns his head.] Gimme an excuse. Dipper: Which way? [Ethan gestures his gun to the left. Dipper turns and walks that way as Ethan follows. Midway down the hall, Dipper notices his backpack on a counter. He stops just in front of it.] Ethan: What the fuck are you doin'? Keep walking. [Ethan shoves his pistol into Dipper's back.] I said keep walking. [Dipper elbows the gun upwards as Ethan fires a shot. The bullet misses. Dipper grabs him and shoves him against the wall. Dipper takes the gun and hits him in the face with it. He then forces the gun into Ethan's abdomen as he holds him against the wall.] Dipper: Where is the operating room? [Ethan remains silent.] I ain't got time for this. [Dipper shoots Ethan in the abdomen. Demanding] Where? [Dipper fires again. Roaring] Where?! Ethan: [Struggling] Top floor. The far end. [Dipper him go. Ethan slumps to his knees and Dipper shoots him in the head. Ethan collapses to the floor as Dipper holsters the gun and proceeds to pick up his bag.]

[Dipper snarls at Priscilla. He then sits up.] Dipper: Yeah, you keep telling yourself that bullshit. Priscilla: [To Ethan] March him outta here. He tries anything, shoot him. Don't waste this gift, Dipper.

Priscilla: Welcome to the Agencies. Sorry about the… They didn't know who you were. Dipper: And Riley? Priscilla: She's all right. They brought her back. You came all this way… How'd you do it? Dipper: It was her. She fought like hell to get here. Maybe it was meant to be. Priscilla: I lost most of my crew, crossing the country. I pretty much lost everything. And then you show up and somehow we find you just in time to save her. Maybe it was meant to be. Dipper: Take me to her. Priscilla: You don't have to worry about her anymore. We'll take care of- Dipper: I worry. Just let me see her, please. Priscilla: You can't. She's being prepped for surgery. Dipper: The hell you mean, surgery? Priscilla: The doctors tell me that the Cordyceps, the growth inside her, has somehow mutated. It's why she's immune. Once they remove it, they'll be able to reverse engineer a vaccine. A vaccine. Dipper: But it grows all over the brain. Priscilla: It does. Dipper: Find someone else. Marlene: There is no one else. Dipper: Listen, you are gonna show me where- [Ethan comes forward, striking Dipper in the leg and pushing him to the floor. He draws his pistol.] Priscilla: Stop. I get it. But whatever it is you think you're going through right now is nothing to what I have been through. I knew her since she was born. I promised her mother that I would look after her. Dipper: Leave my wife alone! Why are you letting this happen? Priscilla: Because this isn't about me. Or even her. There is no other choice here.

Dipper: C'mon. [He begins to give her CPR.] C'mon… C'mon. [He stops to check her airway.] C'mon. C'mon… [He continues applying chest compressions.] C'mon. [Two Agent guards approach, their rifles trained on Dipper. The lead one, Ethan, walks steadily towards Dipper and Riley.] Ethan: Hands in the air. Dipper: [Still applying CPR, he looks at Ethan and back at Riley.] She's not breathing. Ethan: Hands in the fucking air! Dipper: [Growing desperate] Come on, Riley. (Ethan strikes Dipper with the rifle)

Dipper: Woah! Riley: Oh shit. Dipper: Riley -Riley, move! [She climbs onto the platform across as Dipper sprints towards her. He attempts to climb onto it as well but it breaks, causing Dipper to lose his grip and fall back on the bus. He starts drifting away with the bus as the current pulls it. Riley runs on the platform alongside him.] Dipper: Oh shit! Riley: Dad?! [Reaches her hand out] Here, c'mon! Dipper: [Slowly climbs to his feet] I got it. [The bus shifts again, causing Dipper to lose balance and fall inside.] Riley: Dad! [Dipper grabs onto a pole, but the forceful currents cause him to lose his grip.] Dipper: Son of a bitch! [He gets pulled further back into the bus until he grabs onto a handrail to his right. He uses each handrail to pull himself forward against the current. He grabs the last rail but it breaks, causing him to get swept away the entire length of the bus and slams his back into the rear. Riley jumps onto the bus to Dipper's rescue, attempting to pry the door above his head.] Dipper: Riley! [Starts prying the door with her.] Riley: I made it. I fucking made it! Okay! [Struggles] Open you piece of shit! [She kicks the door open, which hits Dipper on the head in the process. He briefly gets knocked into water before resurfacing, where Riley is reaching her hand out.] Riley: Here we go! C'mon, let's get you- [Riley is interrupted by the bus crashing into something. She desperately holds onto the door as the bus slowly overturns.] Riley: Oh shit, shit. Dad! Dipper: [Dipper desperately tries to reach for Riley.] Riley! Riley, gimme your hand! Gimme your hand before I- [The bus churns, pulling the pair underwater and the current launches Riley away. Dipper manages to collect himself and swims out of the bus to see Riley's motionless body in the distance. He swims to her and grabs her, carrying her towards the surface]

Riley: Hey, Dad. I got something for you. Riley: Here. Mermando showed this to me and I, uh… I stole it. I hope you don't mind. [She holds out a photo of Dipper and his daughter Jacklin. Dipper takes it and inspects it before storing it in his backpack.] Dipper: [tearfully] Well, no matter how hard you try, I guess you can't escape your past. Thank you, sweetie. (Dipper and Riley hugged) Riley: Mom loved you. It's a main thing. (Dipper smiles and remembers how he and Wendy being a good couple)

Dipper: Well, this place takes me back. Riley: How so? Dipper: It was right after everything went down. I ended up in a triage just like this. Man, everywhere you looked, you just… saw families torn apart. Whole damn world seemed to have turned upside down in a blink. Riley: Is that after you lost Jacklin? Dipper: Yes, it was. Riley: I… can't imagine losing someone you love like that. Losing everything that you know. I'm sorry, Dad. Dipper: That's okay, Riley.

Mabel: Uh… I got something for you. Last year I went back to Piedmont. Back home. Most of our stuff was long gone. Most of it. Mabel: Here. [Hands Dipper a photo of him and Jacklin.] Mabel: It's a little faded but it still looks pretty good. (Dipper looked sadly at this photo) Dipper: [Briefly inspects the photo] I'm good. [He hands it back to Mabel as he avoids looking at it.] Mabel: You sure? I mean… Dipper: I said I'm good. Mabel: Okay. Well, I'll hold onto it for you. Dipper: Mabel, I… I need to talk to you. Privately.

Dipper: We don't have to do this. You know that, right? Riley: What's the other option? Dipper: Go back to Mabel's. Just… be done with this whole damn thing. Riley: After all we've been through. Everything that I've, It can't be for nothing. (Dipper and Riley going down the stairs) Riley: Look, I know you mean well… but there's no halfway with this. Once we're done, we'll go wherever you want. Okay? Dipper: Well, I ain't leavin' without ya, so let's go wrap this up.

(Riley tried to get stairs for Dipper, but suddenly she saw something and dropped the stairs) Dipper: Riley? Riley; Dad! Look! (Dipper reaches) Dipper: What is it? Riley: Look! Dipper: Oh. (Riley running to the giraffes) Dipper: Heh heh, slow down. (Dipper and Riley met the giraffe and they petted him) Dipper: Go on, pet it Riley: Hey, buddy (Riley petted, then they reached the roof to see other giraffes) Riley: Oh, man… Wow. Look at those things. [She leans against the parapet as she watches the giraffes walk through the field.] Dipper: So… this everything you were hoping for? Riley: It's got its ups and downs. But… you can't deny the view though.

Dipper: [Muffled] Riley. [Louder] Riley! [The audio returns to normal. He yells even louder.] Riley! [Riley turns around as the camera cuts to reveal Dipper. They are on an overgrown highway, a sign above them reads "Salt Lake City".] Dipper: Did you hear me? Riley: No. What? Dipper: [Points to a sign reading "Hospital"] Look. Hospital. This is where we get off. Let's go, sweetie. [The pair start to walk down the highway, and Dipper strikes up a conversation.] Dipper: Heh. You feel that breeze, huh? I tell you, on a day like this, I'd just sit on my porch, pick away at my six-string. Yeah, once we're done with this whole thing, I'm gonna teach you how to play a guitar. Yeah, I reckon you'd really like that. Whaddya say, huh? Riley: That sounds great, dad!

Gideon: I knew you had heart. Y'know, it's okay to give up. Ain't no shame in it. I guess not. Just not your style, is it? You can try beggin'. Riley: Fuck you. Gideon: You think you know me? Huh? Well, let me tell you somethin'. You have no idea what I'm capable of. [Gideon begins to choke Riley, she reaches for his machete, slashing his arm with it. Gideon rolls off of her; Riley then gets on top of him. Gideon cries out as Riley hacks him several times in the face. After several hits, Dipper runs up to her and pulls her off.] Dipper: Riley! Stop. Stop. Riley: No, don't fucking touch me! Dipper: It's okay. It's me. It's me. It's me. Look. Look. It's me... Riley: He tried to- [Riley breaks down in tears. Dipper pulls Riley towards him, cradling her, he starts crying] Dipper: Oh, baby girl... My sweetie. It's okay. It's okay. (Dipper hugging her, comforting her, kissing her) Riley: Daddy... Dipper: It's okay now. [Dipper had a flashback how he hugged Jacklin. The sound of their voices fade as the music grows. Dipper pulls Riley's head away, saying that he will never leaves her and never give up to her and he will always love her that she nods in response to before helping her to her feet and leading her out of the restaurant]

(Riley stabbed him, but he knocked her out) Gideon: That was good, kid. It's gonna be all right. [Puts his revolver away and takes out a machete.] Gideon: You know, you keep surprising me. It's a shame you wouldn't come around. Give up now and I promise to be quick. Promise.

(Riley ran outside, got to the restaurant, tried to exit, but ambushed by Gideon) Gideon: You're easy to track. [They struggle, with Gideon knocking over a lit lamp, which causes the front tables to catch fire. He manages to takes Riley's revolver and knocks her down. He aims the gun at her.] Gideon: How did you do it? [The fire in the background expands, setting the wall ablaze. The fire distracts Gideon, allowing Riley to hide. Gideon takes out a set of keys and locks the door.] Gideon: That's all right. There's nowhere to go! You want out? You're gonna have to come get these keys. I know you're not infected. No one who's infected fights this hard to stay alive. So what is it, Riley? I gotta admit, you had me back there. For a second, you shook my faith. But only for a second. Oh, hey, Riley? I'm sorry about your horse. I truly am. I hope you take comfort in knowing we won't waste any part of him.

Ghost Eyes: Wake-y, wake-y. Come on. Riley: [Wakes up, resisting.] Let go! [Seeing Ghost Eyes struggling, Gideon jumps in, grabbing Riley's shoulder.] Riley: Stop! [She bites Gideon's hand] [Gideon winces. He then knees her in the stomach before grabbing and tossing her onto a table with Ghost Eyes's help. James holds down Riley's left arm as Gideon does likewise with her right arm. Gideon then picks up a meat cleaver and raises it.] Gideon: I warned you. Riley: [breathlessly.] I'm infected! I'm infected! Gideon: [Amused.] Really! Riley: And so are you. [Tugging her right arm.] Right there. Roll up my sleeve. [Demanding.] Look at it! Gideon: I'll play along. [He stabs the cleaver into the table, just away from Riley's head. He then rolls up her sleeve, seeing her healed bite mark. He looks shocked as Ghost Eyes stares at him, visibly shaken.] Riley: What'd you say? Everything happens for a reason right? [Ghost Eyes lets go of Riley's left arm, shakily pointing at her bite.] Ghost Eyes: What the hell is that? Gideon: She would've turned by now. It can't be real. Ghost Eyes: Looks pretty fucking real to me! [Seizing the moment, Riley grabs the meat cleaver and hacks it into Ghost Eyes's neck. She then rolls off the table as Gideon draws his revolver and fires, missing her. Riley lands on the floor as Ghost Eyes collapses, bleeding to death. She runs towards the doorway, pushing a hacked animal corpse as she does. Gideon fires again, but misses. Riley hides next to the doorway. Gideon begins to creep towards the door as Ghost Eyes dies. Riley spies her switchblade on a shelf. She takes it.] Riley: Okay.

(Dipper interrogating cannibals, he tied one cannibal in the chair, while he's beating the second one in anger) Cannibal #1: What do you want? What the fuck? [Dipper hits him again, then stops, clutching his torso.] Dipper: You wait here. Now... The girl... is she alive? Cannibal #2: What girl? I don't know no girl. [Dipper stabs Cannibal 2 in the knee.] Cannibal #2: Fuck! Dipper: Focus right here. Right here. Or I'll pop your goddamn knee off. The girl. Cannibal #2: She's alive. She's Gideon's newest pet. Dipper: Gideon. Where? [Dipper twists the knife in Cannibal #2's knee, causing him to cry out once more.] Cannibal #2: In the town. In the town. [Dipper forces the knife from Cannibal #2's knee then shoves the hilt into his mouth. He takes out a map of the area, holding it up to the man's face.] Dipper: Now you're gonna mark it on the map. And it better be the same exact spot your buddy points too. Mark. Cannibal 2: It's right there. You can verify it. Go ask him. Go on. He'll tell ya. I ain't lyin'. I ain't lyin'. [Dipper grabs Cannibal #2, putting him in a choke hold, beginning to choke him out. After several seconds, he snaps his neck, killing him. He lets go, allowing the chair to fall backwards onto the floor. Cannibal #1 has been watching the whole scene. He looks up to Dipper.] Cannibal #1: Fuck you, man. He told you what you wanted. I ain't telling you shit. Dipper: That's all right. I believe him. Cannibal #1: No, wait! [Dipper raises the pipe, smashing it into Cannibal #1's face]

Cannibal #1: Gotcha, asshole. Finish him off! Cannibal #2: [Approaches with a shiv.] Hold him still! Cannibal #1: Oh shit! [Dipper kicks Cannibal #2 in the groin then headbutts Cannibal #1.] Cannibal #1: Son of a bitch! [Dipper breaks free then turns around and slams the other man into the wall. The man collapses, heavily dazed.] Dipper: You come with me. Come on... Cannibal #1: Let me go. I'll...fuck you up...

[Gideon exits the room, leaving Riley on the floor, alone. The scene cuts to Dipper, who awakes in the cellar of a house with a sharp gasp. He grunts, slowly picking himself up to a kneeling position. He spies round the room.] Dipper: Riley?

Riley: Oh... Gideon: How are you feeling? Riley: Super. Gideon: Here. You should eat. I know you're hungry -- been out for quite some time. Riley: What is it? Gideon: It's deer. Riley: With some human helping on the side? Gideon: No. No, I promise. It's... just the deer meat. Riley: You're a fucking animal. [Riley bends down and starts eating the food.]

(Riley ran to the cabin, at the exit, she was strangled by Gideon) Gideon: Relax... Keeping you alive here. There you go. There you go.

(Riley heard the voices, she looked at the window and saw Gideon's men) Riley: Oh, fuck. They tracked me. I'm gonna draw them away from here. I'll come back for you, dad. I promise. (Riley kisses Dipper on his cheek)

Riley: Dipper? [Dipper breathes.] Riley: Oh... I only managed to get a little bit of food. But... I did get this. [Riley puts back Dipper's blanket.] Riley: Move your arm. [He does so and she pulls up his t-shirt, revealing his stitched up wound on him torso.] Riley: Oh... Here we go. [She injects it into him, causing him to grunt in pain. She removes the needle.] Riley: Sorry. All done. [She puts the syringe away and pulls Dipper's blanket back over him. She lays down beside him as he shivers intensely, she smiled at him, crying for protecting her and caring about her. She accepted that she is his daughter. ] Riley: You're gonna make it, dad. I'm sorry about all this. I love you. [She rests her head on her bag and goes to sleep.]

Gideon: You handled yourself pretty nicely back there. Ha, whew. I'd say we make a pretty good team. Riley: [Warming her hands on the growing fire.] Psshh. We got lucky. Gideon: Lucky? No, no... No such thing as luck. No you see I believe that everything happens for a reason. Riley: [Mocking tone.] Sure. Gideon: I do. And I can prove it to you. Now, this winter has been especially cruel. A few weeks back, I ah... sent a group of men out - nearby town to look for food. Only a few came back. They said that the others had been ah, slaughtered by my nemesis. And get this, he's - a crazy man traveling, with a little girl. You see? Everything happens for a reason. [Riley reaches for the rifle, picks it up and stands away from Gideon, aiming the rifle at him. Gideon dismisses it, tending to the fire again. Ghost Eyes enters the doorway, having heard the conversation. The others haven't noticed him. He draws his pistol and aims it at Riley.] Gideon: Now don't get upset. It's not your fault. You're just a kid. Ghost Eyes, lower the gun! Ghost Eyes: No way, Gideon. I'm not gonna let her go. Gideon: [Insistent.] Lower the gun. Now give her the medicine. Ghost Eyes: The others won't be happy about this. Gideon: Yeah, well that's not your concern. [Riley reaches down and picks the bag up, still aiming at Ghost Eyes. She begins edging towards the door.] Riley: Move the fuck out of the way. Gideon: You won't survive long out there. I can protect you. Riley: No thanks.

(Riley and Gideon killed all the infected) Gideon: Hey, kid! Riley: Yeah? Gideon: You know, I think we did it. Riley: Like we killed all of 'em? Gideon: Don't sound so disappointed. Riley: More like disbelief. Gideon: I'll check the bridge. [They go to the bridge.] Gideon: Listen. Riley: No infected. Gideon: No infected. What'd I tell ya? All right. Let's head on back, check on that buck of ours.

Gideon: There. You know, you really shouldn't be out here all on your own. Riley: I don't like company. Gideon: I see. What's your name? Riley: Why? Gideon: Look, I understand it's not easy to trust a couple of strangers. Whoever's hurt, you clearly care about them. I'm sure it's gonna be just fine. Riley: We'll see.

[In the snow, Riley runs towards the dead deer, still impaled with her arrow. She observes it only to turn around and aim her arrow at a tree.] Riley: Who's there? Come out! [Two men come out from behind a tree, Gideon and Ghost Eyes. Gideon, carrying a rifle on his back, holds out his hand.] Gideon: Hello... we just want to talk. Riley: Any sudden moves and I put one right between your eyes. Ditto for buddy-boy over there. What do you want? Gideon: Name's Gideon, this here's my friend, Ghost Eyes. We're from a larger group - women, children - we're all very, very hungry. Riley: So am I - women and children - all very hungry too. Gideon: Well, maybe we could, ah, trade you for some of that meat there. What do you need? Weapons, ammo, clothes - Riley: Medicine! Do you have any antibiotics? Gideon: We do. Back at the camp. You're welcome to follow us- Riley: I'm not following you anywhere. Buddy-boy can go get it. He comes back with what I need, the deer is all yours. Anyone else shows up- Gideon: You put one right between my eyes. Riley: That's right Gideon: Two bottle of the penicillin and a syringe. Make it fast. [Riley points her at his friend, Ghost Eyes] Go. Riley: I'll take that rifle. Gideon: Of course. Riley: Back up. Gideon: He's probably gonna be a while. You ah, mind is we take some shelter from the cold? Riley: [Gesturing to the deer.] Bring him with us.

Riley: I think we're safe. Dipper? [Riley looks at Dipper, who falls from the horse, losing consciousness.] Riley: Dipper. Ah, shit, Dipper here. Get up, get up, get up... You gotta tell me what to do. Come on... you gotta get up. Dipper?

Riley: Come on. Dipper: Just... get the horse. Riley: All right... Can you get on? [Dipper slowly climbs on to Callus. Riley jumps on the back.] Dipper: [To Callus.] Go.
