And most people in Manipur understands it. And it's also fine that she doesn't cook during her periods cos it's part of a hygiene and we Manipuris don't allow women to cook during that period. It is a tradition since then. I agree with ur awareness stuff but u don't need to sweep the tradition and give a bad name of it. I have mother sisters and when they need sometime I go to shops to buy pads for them and there is nothing wrong in that. U should also know the place where u r speaking at!!!
