How long did it last ? Just had my blood drawn and I have a bruise that size too. Only been 12 hours though for me thus far.

If u have a noise problem and need to install a mfj noise reducer box.this antenna would be acceptable as the second antenna.however using it as primary transmit and receive ant. would not yield good results.a good old 1/4l ground plane would be much better.these antennas resonate the feed line i believe do their small length.🙂

Yes I eat the mic... Wired to my ft891 its awsome... My fave mic of all time.. Got the original as you say.. Nearly as old as me.. Came in a bad state but gave her some love and she rocks now... Peace out bro..

The antenna is actually decent on 450-470. It's just that the supplied Coaxial cable loses a lot of signal along that 50 feet, you replace it with RG11 quad shield, like that really stiff stuff they use in satellite tv installs and it's pretty great. Still some loss but greatly minimized, you can minimize more by using less feedline if you can get the radio closer to the mast. Installing a preamp on the mast just below the antenna on the other hand completely mitigates that but I like the normal receive without one.

Nice. I have this one too. Get some the nice aftermarket antennas for it, the recently appearing HYS ones are great. I got a 16 inch flex whip for more portable use and then a 51 inch telescopic for more output.

I have one of these radios, I purchased from eBay. A good friend of mine helped me get one after one of my neighbors traded a radio for mine and i ended up with a radio that the key up was very low volume. I got in touch with him, and he sent me another one. I am grateful he helped me get one back. And it works very good. Very stable online. I will never get rid of my Radio Shack 19-1210. Thank you Joe for the Blue Pot adjustment to bring to 5 watts. I will make sure mine is set right. I have a good SWR meter that has the power option. It will help me tune it right on the mark. I am happy I have this radio now. It works fine!
