I relate. I had a lifestyle habit of drinking wine very night 👀😅 Day 200 off alcohol today 😊 Ive had 2-3 times in there (ie my daughters graduation lunch) where I had a little wine and enjoyed, but none in a while. Time is on our side in terms of it gets easier. I want to experience my 60's as a non drinker. Be an example for my kids (walk the walk) who are 19 and 22. They are proud of me. I'd say the scariest drunk moment I had was a few years ago, I went on a vacation with my brother and a friend to Las Vegas and I got blacked out drunk. All I remember was that I snapped out of it and realized I was peeing in a bush by the hotel's swimming pool. I don't know how I got there, I didn't know what time it was, I freaked out, ran back to my room, (I'm surprised I even remember where my room was.) Banged on the door and my brother let me in. So stupid now that I think about it.

I know! Right?! My dog got stung by a bee a couple Saturday evenings ago. And I thought about that as I was driving her to the emergency vet at 9pm as she was going into anaphylactic shock. I wouldn’t have been able to save her life (or it would’ve taken a lot longer to get her to the vet), if I was still drinking. I’m so happy to alcohol FREE! There are just so many positives and great things about being alcohol-free.

Still sober! I went out with some friends last Sunday, I drank a coke and my tab was $2. My friends had a few drinks and their tab was $25, they only had 2 drinks. There’s an old saying if you hang out at a barber shop you’re going to get a haircut. I don’t put myself in slippery situations like parties where alcohol is the main focus or bars but if I am in a social situation where alcohol is present I can choose a mock tail option but generally speaking I don’t go to places where alcohol is at. I totally relate I am alcohol free today and I have made a decision to be completely AF for the rest of my life here on earth. I’ll be 54 in September. What I've noticed is watching these videos about not drinking makes alcohol advertising pop up. What is up with that?? I find that very very strange 🤔 throwing temptation in our faces

Forgiveness has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with oneself. Who forgives reaps the benefit of the forgiveness. I had a terrible depression for 8 years to the point of wanting to kill myself. The first step in healing myself was forgiveness. I forgave all those who had disappointed me and put me into huge financial problems. I forgave all of them whether they deserved the forgiveness or not. Lack of forgiveness is like shooting yourself in the head in order for your enemies or offenders to die. I drank whiskey nearly daily for 22 years. It was like medicine for me, although it wasn't. I stopped in 2022. Nothing can make me drink alcohol again. I am the one keeping drinks for my association. Al though there are bottles of whiskey among the drinks, nothing, absolute nothing can make me go back to alcohol. The alcohol spirit has died and decayed. I am very proud of myself for stopping the very dangerous habit. My decision to stop drinking alcohol is not just a mere decision. It is a very strong oath between me and myself. That oath is like a guardian Angel. It stays with me and strengthens, guards and guides me all the time. This I tell all of you who genuinely want to stop drinking alcohol. Take the decision as an oath which you should never break, no matter the circumstance in which you may find yourself. I watched pornographic films daily for 13 years. I stopped watching the films since 2013. That same year, I stopped adding sugar to anything I drink. I stopped drinking and eating anything that has sugar. If you can stop one important thing in your life, you could stop any other bad habit.

I don’t agree with the Eastern philosophy of soul contract, because it blames the victim for being victimized. It also doesn’t solve the individuals very real current problems. I believe delving in the past too much keeps many people stuck. I believe teaching people to move forward in their present life regardless of their circumstances should be pushed more, that’s Adler’s philosophy.

Ha ha, you certainly can’t judge a book by its cover. The last thing I would imagine when looking at this pretty and demure appearing woman is her driving her Harley drunk at 90 miles an hour. I’ve had similar experiences, and somehow survived, but I’ve lost my father at a very young age to drunk driving, and saw my best friend go to prison for vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. I finally smartened up in my 50s, but it took a potentially catastrophic sequence of events for me to come to grips with reality. I’m down to an occasional beer at this point, but I’m realizing that there’s no need for that. It’s time to just put alcohol away for good. Even if you’re not getting intoxicated, it’s just plain unhealthy. This type of content is very helpful.

Whoever decides to stop drinking alcohol, unknowing takes an oath between him and himself. Don't break the oath. Remember these words ! So I stopped drinking alcohol since 2022. I will never break the oath. Be proud of yourself each day you abide with the oath. Tide and time come and go. So shall your alcohol consumption come and go. Take an oath today.

That's INSANE how our childhood traumas affect us! Im 40 now, my mother died a year ago from drinking, and she never admitted how much she was hurting me when i was a child. I have been drinking for the last 10 years because of those traumas that i couldn't forget.... That's crazy, but just one conversation between us would have been enough, but she never agreed to discuss it. So now... im trying to quit and im determined to quit. Because i can't live like this anymore, im just going down the hill. God please give me power this time, ive tried so many times... i didn’t get married, didn't have kids, drank...ALL because of my childhood.
