Palomar Mountains East Grade Road is an excellent companion to the infamous South Grade Road. Great views, super smooth pavement, and not as technically challenging. Now relegated to 40mph with increased patrols on the mountain, it is best to seek alternative routes for spirited riding.

Once the premiere motorcycling destination in the San Diego area, Palomar Mountains South Grade Road is now relegated to 30mph with increased patrols on the mountain. Riders are now forced to seek other routes in the area; none of which can deliver an experience quite like South Grade Road.
