4x4 Adventures Overland: Land Cruiser 80 series
Ever thought about visiting Morocco overland? This video shows the diverse beauty of Morocco when venturing off the beaten track and exploring the wonders it has too offer.
Our vehicle and home for this trip was our Land Cruiser 80 series before the conversion you see today in the other videos. The rood tent was a Maggiolina which served us well, this was the last trip we used the roof tent.
We travelled with a friend, using his 1994 Land Rover, making many memories along the way…. Good times!
I think 2025 is calling for a new trip, maybe Morocco, maybe the Stans….

Land Cruiser 80 Series conversion from 4x4 to overland ready!
Переглядів 1,3 тис.Місяць тому
Here is a complication of the transition from the original Land Cruiser 80 series to its current form with sleeping cab. The images and video were taken for personal use. Sadly we did not document the conversion to level we would have liked to with hindsight! The body was custom made in Germany and we collected it with a transit. Cutting the back of our much loved Land Cruiser was painful, but ...
Land Cruiser 80’s series overland build: wheel rack
Переглядів 581Місяць тому
Lou updates on the self build and conversion of our Toyota Land Cruiser 80’s series, this update looks at the construction of the wheel rack. This was constructed to accommodate the overland trips to Morocco and beyond. The construction went relatively smoothly, with only minor modifications to the finished design, it has been built to withstand the twisting movement of the cab and to accommoda...
Land Cruiser 80's Series - Overland ready!

Today I take you for a look around our recently modified Land Cruiser 80's series, which was built in 1991, but modified in 2020 to accomodate a sleeping cab. Our overall look was inspired by a Maltec and Tom’s Fahrzeugtechnik design, both of which are world leaders in 4x4 conversions. Our conversion continues to be an ongoing project, and certainly it is our passion for overland travel that co...

Descending across the plains of Morocco in our Land Cruiser 80's Series. Overland 4x4 driving into the Western Sahara, accompanied by a Land Rover Defender 300tdi. During this journey we were self sufficient, sleeping in a Magolina Safari rooftop tent. I wanted to share with you some of the stunning scenery we meet along the way. Morocco Overland 4x4

The camels passed by our camp for the evening and a wonderful, welcome sight they were! This trip saw us head down into the Western Sahara, it was a 3 week trip travelling from the UK, via Spain and into Morocco. Wild camping all the way through Morocco and being self sufficient. This is a trip we aim to do annually, and given the opportunity, we would stay longer and explore further. Our overl...
Overland Landcruiser 80 series
Переглядів 4384 роки тому
This is our first trip in our Toyota Landcruiser 80 series since we altered the original vehicle to incorporate a sleeping cab. This is also my first ever You Tube video - learning my way around the whole scene. We normally travel into the Sahara, but changes to our vehicle and global lockdown measures mean local trips to test the vehicle are our only option for now. Please like and subscribe, ...
Hi This box look perfect Please what is the internal and external dimensions for that box?
I love Blackpool , you should have got a shot of the tower in the background.
Looking back on this trip with ‘Bruiser’ The Land Cruiser set up as he was, really reminds me of the importance of just planning your trip, or even your destination and timing and just do it! Too many people ponder over the what if’s and then achieve their dream. Previous trips had been meticulously planned out on a daily basis. This trip had been planned partly, we had ship crossings to make and a time to enter and leave Morocco, but the rest was winging it on a daily basis and this lack of planning was perfect, as the weather changed, the rains washed out roads and car parts needed changing; the flexibility of not having any concrete plans made these ‘unplanned’ events less stressful. The emptiness in the South of Morocco is the perfect tonic to the craziness of the Western world. These last 5 years have cemented the idealism of this escapism, as far away from others and technology is a great place to be and trips such as this allow you to recharge and see the beauty of the natural world. I long for our next trip away…
Too busy there for me
It’s the escapism, away from everything that we love so much, it recharges your body and mind. Putting this c]video together and looking back at photos and videos made me hanker for our next trip!
Amazing
@@BigJace001 Thank you
Welcome back hun, looking forward to some excellent content 😊
Incredible transformation 😅
@@juliehordern8330 Thank you
spectacular!!! love it
Thank you, it such a shame that during the build we didn’t even consider documenting it for others to see. I know there is a lot of interest in turning Land Cruisers and other vehicles into campers or overland vehicles and this project would have been a great opportunity to show others that it is possible with limited skills (mine).
@@organicallypure1737 exactly the same as me with my van projects,,, you’re just too fixated on the build
Sadly these images and videos are all that we have of our conversion to an overland vehicle. Our inspiration for the build came from Tom’s Fahrzeugtechnik, Maltec, and a visit to Bad Kissingen 4x4 show. The conversion is not complete and there are still things we would like to make, but also changes we would like to make to projects we have ‘finished’. If there is anything particular you would like me to talk about or show you more of, pop it in the comments 👍
Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell, welcome back to YT. When is your next adventure?
We are hoping to head to Morocco next year, plans are afoot! 🎉
Hi Lou does the vehicle still have the original engine?
It does have the original engine, Hubby has maintained it meticulously over the years and it runs beautifully 👍
That’s a very interesting video Lou, glad you’re over that blip in your health. Hubby is very talented clearly,,,, a great natural edit on this video Lou,,,,,great to see you back! keep em coming
Thanks @STTC, it’s fair to say this video is ‘raw’ 😂 but there is always up from here 👍 Hubby is very talented, and underestimates his ability, he has re-built bruiser in one form or another and is now a very old, much loved part of the family.
This is my first video for a long while, bear with me with the camera angles and editing, it’s a work in progress. Our Land Cruiser has been a slow, rebuild over many years and in truth, along the way it’s purpose has probably changed from the original plan, this is down to the changing world and life’s hurdles. It may be that parts need to be deconstructed and reconstructed in the future to better suit our needs. Plans on the table include swapping over the solar panels, adding on an additional fuel tank, change the mattress for improved comfort and re-look at storage solutions.
We had an overnight stay in #ergchebbi #morocco and were blessed to see these beautiful camels stride past us. We were just setting up camp and preparing our evening meal, this topped off our wonderful day exploring.
Apologies to everyone wanting to see more from me and our #Landcruiser I have had a few health setbacks backs that required my attention. However, all is good now and I will start to put out new content in October 2024 with updates of the changes and additions we have made to ‘Bruiser’
Apologies to those keen to see more from me. I have had a few health set backs, which required my attention. I plan to start putting new videos out from October 2024.
who is the manufacturer of the conversion ?
We did the conversion ourselves, it was very scary doing the initial cut, but once started, there was no turning back.
What an amazing rig. Would love to have something like that here in Colorado. Thank you so much for sharing. :)
What is the color code of that gray?
The colour is Skoda meteor grey. It certainly is a head turner, we teamed it with black and orange accents, to lift the grey.
What is your tire size
Tyre size 285/75 16 Cooper discoverer stt mud terrain
Please update an interior walk around
Love your rig,how much would a box like yours cost for the back of my fj62?
35.000€
The empty box with pop top roof and 3 windows was €15,000, not fitted. We fitted the box ourselves and built the interior ourselves.
Great looking rig, very keen to see the inside
Thank you, I will be updating this video this week.
Due to having binned the TV licence over two years ago we here watch loads of youtube stuff including vlogs, real people doing real, and in many cases, ordinary things but without complicated set ups which makes a refreshing change from the over produced rubbish on TV. Good on you for giving it a go. Camper's looking good.
My favourite adventurers!
Great vlog keep them coming. Where will your adventures take you next.........
Julie Hordern We were hoping to head to Morocco, but due to lock down that isn’t an option right now, so we will continue to do more local trips, really just to finish our snagging list on the Land Cruiser, it is an ongoing project. This is the first of many posts I will be doing about the vehicle itself, our journeys and our lifestyle. Hopefully, my ability to film will improve as I learn. 👍🏼 you can also visit my website www.organicallypure.co.uk and comment on the natural lifestyle I promote.
Excellent look forward to seeing more
