I dunno, I'm trying to be respectful but seeing as most likely Krav Maga would attract (or is marketed towards) folks who don't have a alot of martial arts experience but want to learn some basic techniques for defense on the street that idea of trying to teach them a Muay Thai leg defense wouldn't be very practical as in the amount of time it would take to gain the athleticism, strength and speed to do it effectively would be way more costly than a much simpler solution that still allows them to reposition for counter attack. If a person is going to throw a straight kick at the groin instead of trying to do what you show, just circle to the outside or even inside and counter attack. The technique you show, blocking kick with shin looks awkward as heck and blocking a high kick the way you show looks awkward and non-intuitive as well. Do like Mr Miyagi say, best way block punch (or kick), no be there! Worst case is these students get confronted with a kicker and they get baited into that leg block then they get a simple round kick to their balance leg and wind up bouncing their tailbone on the concrete.

You're too stiff with your movements. Too blocky, too chunky like an angry old man. you gotta work on those glute muscles, stretching, and leg strength in order for the back kick to hit face correctly. They're three movements: turn back, chamber, and kick. This move is very possible and practical, actually. but it requires a ton of cardio conditioning, lower back/glutes, and proper technique to do it fast enough. Oh, and stretch stretch stretch! 😁 Oh yeah btw I found that doing abs/core work helps me with more agility and kicking more stable; It feels less like swinging my legs and more like correctly striking the target with power when I have enough core strength. Good luck and have fun kicking butt.

After the amount of knife attacks he took and the fact that the guy had a gun I think he was better off staying in that position tying to control the knife as that man could very easily turn and shoot him as he is already wounded from the knife and would struggle to flee quick enough However I am no expert it’s just my opinion that when your stabbed and struggling to run as it is fleeing from a man with a firearm could turn deadly quick
