Working with Jig to Advance on the track. using a few pieces of meat to keep her motivated to move in a forward motion. accidently laid the track near a rotten dead baby bird, took steps to avoid it since we are still working with basic commands and obedience. she is 16 weeks old, about 50 yards/ 15 minute age. I am trying a few different techniques with her, since she has a completely differen...

5 month old Blue Lacy "Hawk" completes a 5 Hour, 633 yard practice track. First part of video was erased, (phone ran out of memory) This was the last 75-100 yards. He did well, one overshot when we transitioned from woods to a small open sand-pit, he worked it out without correction from handler in about 10 minutes. Weather 45 degrees overcast, misty rain.

A review for Dog Bone Game Recovery System training aid. 4 month old bloodhound Indiana does an approximate 500-600 yd track using the provided deer hide and 20 drops of training scent (made with real deer blood and other fluids/scents you will come across during a real recovery). I use VERY little of the liquid scent provided in the kit. I dragged and bounced the deer hide drag to simulate a w...

They work their own way and it works! Love the Lacy’s. Did probably 20 real world tracks on lead and had the realization I was the weak point lol. Let him off lead and he’s lights out. And watching him work off lead has helped me be a better on lead handler for when we need to be.

How does your dog do In the field with actual wounded animals? Do you find they make the transition well?

Some one should create a channel with police videos using bloodhounds to find missing children or criminals or elderly or my missing keys.

I'm interest in the breed. But I'm from wisconsin. I know they are breed to handle the warm weather. So the big question is. How is he handling the cold?

Takes me at least three years of training before I let a dog work off lead even during training. If you don't take all the rt steps you will have a deer chaser/hunter instead of a deer tracker.or hog, fox, armadillo, coyote,,skunk, squirrel,raccoon,mouse,etc...chaser/hunter

Beautiful pup! Interesting how different handlers train their dogs,i train lacies completely different, than other breeds, and completely different than your method. But if the result nets you what you want, then you should be a happy camper. On a different topic certain lines of lacies have better noses than people think our oldest successful track last season was 71 hours old.

Thank You!! I have 2 lacy, my first one is out of Scott Lopez and Chris Morris. He found 17 his first year. I am working on my 2nd Lacy, who is out of Johnathan Wright of Texas. We must track on lead, and have very small parcels to work with during hunting season. I realize this breed thrives off-lead, so I try to incorporate an off lead feel as much as I can. I train them on the Garmin as well...... as I do let my first run fox from time to time.

I try to upload most of my training videos so I can learn myself from them. watch for clues, reactions from the dogs, etc. Its nice to watch my struggles and victories and learn from them. I enjoy your videos and only dream of what it might be like to run off lead!!

Great dog , I use a dachshund in michigan here and have recovered a couple deer after a mile of tracking. These dogs are a must in my opinion, even on a good shot they make the job easy and fast . Just subscribed.

Very nice video. I enjoyed watching and your dog did great. I'm lucky and have had access to real hooves and hide along with deer blood and was wondering how the Dog Bone Game Recovery System would work. Looks like you did well with it. Like you, I started training using blood and have now switched to only using hooves and hide. My partner and I did 56 real tracks for hunters last season and found 25 deer. Thanks for sharing the nice video.

Thank you for the review, been looking at this product as a stand in for some training until I can get some fresh skins and blood. Think I might pick it up.
