Making Leather Holsters.
Making A Leather Holster
This is how I make my custom leather holsters. In this video you will see each step of my holster making process. I cut the leather, dye it, stitch it, wet mold it, and apply a finish.

lo siento, no lo hago. (I do not.)
Amigo por casualidad no vendes patrones de esas funda
Hey you need to make more videos, this is great
Thanks, I'm working on it.
What size leather do you use
5-6 oz. with 4-5 oz. liner. If the holster is unlined I use 10 oz.
You will get a better black if you do one brown first. and suede holds dirt which is rough on the finish of the gun. That is really nice work picked up several good tips thanks
They did come out really black after the second coat dried. I personally prefer a leather lining, but some customers do prefer suede. With suede you do have to keep it clean. Thanks for the comments, I do appreciate them.
What thickness leather do you want for gun holster.
If your asking, what thickness do I use. I use 9/10 oz. leather for unlined holsters and 5/6 oz. leather with 4/5 oz. leather or suede lining for lined holsters.
Where did you find templates
I made them.
Great work.
What kind of glue do you use,
I use Barge cement.
@@trierleatherworks2638 thanks , is it contact cement?
Yes. It's been used in the shoe industry for decades.
Are these templates available for purchase?
No. I purchased the material and had access to a laser cutter.
What size are the belt slots ? Looks good.
The standard size is 5/8" wide x 1 3/4" long. I can accommodate custom sizes upon request.
You sir are a true artist! What a beautiful design and superb workmanship!
Thanks a lot I appreciate your comments.
Better put that end cap on the bobbin shuttle. Hurts if you ever get your finger in there, lol.
Why did the pattern say M&P Shield but you shaped it with a glock blank?
If you notice in the begining of the video, I'm making two holsters. One for a Glock and one for a Shield. I was trying not to make the video too long and still show the entire process, so I cut in and out between holsters. I didn't show the template for the Glock, sorry about that.
were did you get the templets
What size and brand punch do you use for the belt holes?
1/2" x 1 5/8" I make my own.
Nice, congratulations
How am I able to contact you? I am interested in a leather holster.
Just go to trierleatherworks.com then go to the holsters page and select the model and options you would like. If the model you want isn't listed, select other models at the top and discribe your firearm model and contact details and I will get back with you for further details.
were did you get the templets
What size leather do you use for ur holsters?
Josh, thanks for your question. I typically use 4 to 5 oz. Hermann Oak leather, and 3 to 4 oz. leather or suede for the lining. On some of the larger handguns I may use 5 to 6 oz. leather. The holster in the video was made with 4 to 5 oz. Thank you.
Do you use shoulders or backs?
Where did you get the patterns?
Sorry for the delay, I have access to a laser, after I design a pattern I use it to cut them out.
Trier Leather Works do you sell patterns?
Why would you ask someone to sell their livelihood?
