עמותת שם ונר שמה לה למטרה להנציח את זיכרון השואה לדורות הבאים. זאת על ידי בניית מסורת של הדלקת נר זיכרון אישי בכל ערב יום זיכרון לשואה ולגבורה.
לצערנו, בעוד לא הרבה שנים אלה ששרדו את השואה לא יהיו עמנו. קיום מסורת של הדלקת נר זיכרון אישי במסגרת משפחתית או עם חברים, כפי שאנו מדליקים חנוכייה בחנוכה או קוראים את ההגדה בפסח, מבטיח שסיפור חייהם של הנספים ימשיך להישמע וזיכרונם יישמר לדורות הבאים.

The number of survivors are unfortunately aging rapidly, while the voice of the Holocaust deniers is growing stronger.
Our mission is to instill a family tradition of remembering the perished.
The tradition of a family gathering at home and lighting a personal candle in memory of family members or others who perished in the Shoah ensures that the voice of the Holocaust will continue to be heard and retain meaning for generations to come.
