I used a new editing software on this so it took awhile. I added music which I normally don't do. I took over 6 hours of footage from 2 cameras and pretty much picked clips at random, so I don't show many catches.

    My father gave me one of these.very bad ass.Unfotunetly it disappeared in my early 20's.Kershaw claims if you crashed in a helicopter door down it would cut through the wall to make an exit.I wanted to get a pole threaded to screw in the back,and have multiple lenghts threaded for different lengths.I would imagine the saw blade being able to cut through a helicopter is why its not ideal for wood.The saw is two rows side by side apx 1/4" inch high spaced apx 1/8" apart.Its very durable

    Great looking lake John. I have the German-made Bushbox XL folding stove. It's not a 'gasifier' but I love it. I tried to identify those berries... I think they're Arrowwood Viburnums. Hard to tell without studying the leaves, stems and flowers before they fruit.You have to be careful of what you eat.

    • @67wing
      @67wing 7 років тому

      The lake is Slipper lake, about a ten minute walk from my house. I love the stove but it's a bit difficult to assemble. Thanks for possibly identifying the berries. Nobody that I've talked to could tell me anything.

    • @MuskratJim
      @MuskratJim 7 років тому

      It's spring now so if you get a chance, take a close up of the flower head, and also the leaves and how they connect to the stalk. Nice close-ups and email them to me at jim@muskratsurvival.com. I already know what the berries look like in both their ripened and unripened states, but those other details will help me identify the plant. My Bushbox XL is all hinged and folds flat into a pouch similar to yours. The hinged design is perfect for a one-handed guy like me. I won the Bushbox XL in a contest a couple of years ago, from Craig Whitlock @ ForestWalker111, another Ontario UA-camr. If you aren't yet subbed to his channel, tell him Muskrat Jim sent you :)

    • @67wing
      @67wing 7 років тому

      Every year they wander ours streets. I think this is why they've reinstated the spring bear hunt

    • @MuskratJim
      @MuskratJim 7 років тому

      We have bear hunting here in NB. They rummage through our neighbors trash, crapped in my yard, and I've even seen a small one in my back yard during the day. I've made at least two videos about it. I've also pointed out bear droppings and scratchings in several other video too.

    • @67wing
      @67wing 7 років тому

      I myself enjoy seeing them. Unfortunately, a lot of people see them as a nuisance or are terrified of them, o the bears end up killed (they don't relocate them here). I plan on doing a bear hunt this fall and probably won't have to go very far to do it.

    • @MuskratJim

    I have one that I bought new back around 89 I think. I've used it a lot over the years and it has never failed me, including batoning. If you unscrew the pommel and look at the threaded end you will see it has a high polish finish to use as a signal mirror. I replaced the fishing kit with wax soaked cotton balls (each will burn for about 8 minutes and they are waterproof) and a ferro rod, which will light the cotton balls if you crush them a little first. The back grind on the top of the tip will cut through metal and tin cans if you flip the knife so the blade side is up, thus protecting the cutting edge of the knife. This was handy back in the day before everything came with a pull top. It cuts deadwood faster than what you experienced in this video. I've never tried it on bone but I'm sure it could cut through with little difficulty. I did stab through and saw some metal roofing with it once just to see if it could. IIRC that was kind of a struggle but I cut a hole nonetheless. The blade is made from a decent metal and takes and holds an edge well. It serves as a backup to my BK2 now but I never leave it behind. I turned this into my scouting kit by adding some paracord and a small pouch to the sheath that carries some food, a water filter, a mylar blanket, and emergency whistle. I have been really happy with this knife over the years and can't see ever parting with it. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks for the insight. I have never really used mine. I fell in love with it when I first laid eyes on it. It's definitely built tough and has a lot of great features. It's easy to see why it is desirable to collectors. Thanks for watching
