A very nice video. Enjoyed. I am looking at the 2020 or 2021 model. Will see how things will go. Drop by bro, you may like my content. Cheers.

@@YBWhooby thank you so much for the support.
I am on my second ADV bike after owning many different types of street motorycles and a few dual sports. I have taken 10 day trips which combined highway travel with dirt road travels. It IS hard work, and riding a heavy bike offroad with all the extra gear and bags to camp, etc makes it even more challenging. Every time I start off on an adventure I question myself. BUT, at the end of every adventure trip... the feeling and joy is indescribable. I know not every adv owner will experience this, and many will never travel off the beaten path but those that accept the challenge are usually rewarded.
@@chas4life last weekend me and my friend we done 205 miles, most of it inside a national forest and we where getting in some trails very challenging, and in that moment like you said, I was wondering wtf I'm doing, why I'm getting myself into this. And I can tell you that im ready to go back there and try again 😆 It's just an adventure
BMW GS is over engineered and overpriced bike.
@pawelwis7215 The new ones are made for rish people. I can't afford one
The heavier the bike the bigger the adventure
This is the new way of the dumb. Don’t do research, don’t live and learn. Just blame social media for your absolutely shocking level of idiocy. If you think adventure motorcycles are easy and clean when off-roading for thousands of miles ?? You’re just a moron.
My brother was part of the 2013 BMW R1200gs foto and video shoot to launch the new liquid cooled models, it took 65 takes to shoot the desert stunt riding, and they destroyed 3 bikes, so yeah never fall for those "adventure" advertisements you see, those riders are the best stunt riders money can buy, and the advertisement budget is in the millions, if you want to ride offroad buy a enduro offroad bike, if you like touring, buy a tourer
@rustytanks thanks for sharing . Yes, a light dualsport is always it's the best choice for the rough terrain .
1. They look dumb. 2. They look dumb. 3. Riding one makes you look dumb.
I gave up my apartment, bought a van, built it into a camper and live in it full time. I bought a Tenere 700 this year, the culmination of a two year plan to travel Mexico by motorcycle. I have been saving money for the past 6 months and I'm about ready to take off on my trip. I'm tired of the rat race, working just to survive, etc. I'm ready to see the world after 44 years of working just to pay the landlord, phone bill, and all the other stuff that comes from being a "good consumer." Life is too short to die in your hometown never seeing the world.
@BernieRunns life is too short. We better enjoy it as we are still here. Go and travel and see the world. There's so much to see on this beautiful planet. I want the t7. Is a great adv motorcycle
I’m a 20+ yeah veteran biker. I bought a Tiger 900 as a touring bike. The worst it’s ever seen or likely to see is some washed out and rutted dirt roads. If I’m doing anything more I’m on a much lighter 300L.
@TheMotoShaman if I had money, I would add other dualsport in the garage, crf 300L rally is great. It just needs a better suspension
+1 I cannot believe that so many BMW GS "World's Best Adventure Bike" were sold because people watched The Long Way Round & ignored the fact that "The World's Best Adventure Bike" BROKE THEIR FRAMES being used in a way they were supposed to do. No, they weren't "Overloaded", a passenger on the back would've been far heavier than the luggage they carried. Now people are finally waking up to the fact that the painfully expensive BMW GS they bought is just about useless off road, unless you are an expert. Otherwise you're going to learn how embarassing it is when the guy on the old, $2,500 KLR650 gets past you.....& he can pick his bike up when he drops it, you'll need help with your lump of a GS.
@dumptrump3788 you are absolutely right. There's no need to spend that much money to have an adventure ride. 2 years ago, I bought this super tenere in the used market for $5.5k, had 20k miles , now has over 40k miles, and is still going like a tank. I had to spend some money on gear and accessories, but it's still cheaper than the Gs
And how much have you road a BMW? I have a 2024 Tenere 700 and a 2023 GS 1250. Both have there strengths and weaknesses it really comes down to what your gonna do with it. My tenere will stomp any KLR into the dirt but im not gonna put my wife on the back of it and travel across the county on it. The GS is hands down the best 2 up touring bike there is on the market i don’t care what anyone says. If they say different it’s because of there lack of experience riding one. I have been 25 motorcycles and have owned hundreds others over 35 years of riding experience. So trust me I’m not just shooting from the hip because I own only one bike and think it’s the best thing on planet earth. I speak from a lot of experience as well as running a business repairing and restoring vintage bikes.
A KLR 650 is one of the most too heavy massive pigs you can buy. But ok.
Keep making the videos 👍 the subs will come! Nice super ten btw!
@@ComfyDadShoes thank you so much
Who TF is like...yeah Ima buy a bike and go on a 3,000 mile ride? That is a bit extreme for even a seasoned rider.
@brentharrington9235 😆 The pandemic has changed the world, lol. Some stories will make you think, if some people got a brain inside them heads or it's empty 🤣

The wind is louder than your voice
@javierc2726 sorry about that. Still learning
What a chore, riding a huge, heavy, upright, basically a sportbike on knobbies, through rough terrain as an excursion vehicle. Bring me the jeep please
@Audfile or a small dualsport 😆 So far, I'm still pushing with this big tank. When I have money, I will add a small dual sport for technical stuff.
@@ADVDad-hw9ls hope your ankles are OK, doesnt sound like a good time. I'd rather ride something like a scrambler, something low slung like a cruiser on knobbies with more suspension. Way more comfortable, less perilous.
@Audfile my ankles are fine. I have changed the foot pegs. This yamaha is very comfortable for long trips. There's an after-market seat and does highways like a piece of cake. It's a handful in technical off-roading. I love scramblers, too, they look awesome
@@ADVDad-hw9ls I have to admit something to you, funny enough we are talking about sportbikes and offroading... I have currently 2 bikes, one a mechanics queen perpetually in the shop Harley and a recent buy, brand new SV650. Just past break in. One route I take goes deep into the woods and strangely has a section near the end that is just a valley of gravel, then paved again. Relatively deep gravel, about 70 feet of it. Cross it pretty daintily on this thing first pass. Anyway, I'm a pretty decent sport rider and on the way back I saw a 25 mph sign come up, which, if it had been paved, would have been no problem. I thought the sign was signifying a turn, but it was a poorly chosen warning that the valley of gravel was coming up. I had no time to slow down, did the best I could, then relaxed and let it happen. Bike tore through the gravel, bars kind of wiggled slightly near the end, then blasted up and onto the tarmac. So, SV could definitely do that full time with the right setup. Lol.
@Audfile 😆 I hope you didn't get hurt. Any mounded gravel on the sides can suck you in, while loose gravel can cause you slide off the road and into a slough. Riding on gravel sometimes feels like going over ice 😆
Well this ended way differently than I thought it would, but I hope this gets a lot of views. Too many people are obsessed with the fallacy of instagram and the fantasy of "world travel" and stuff. Even with unlimited "influencer funds" most people really don't want to go through the process for extended motorcycle travel. Probably not even a 3-5 day camping trip. You're right about the outdoor vs indoor type person for sure. I really thought this was gonna be about buying a used Tenere instead of a new GS. Liked and subbed.
Oh thank you so much! I've made a video about the yamaha super tenere, and already said how much I love this bike. I don't know if you seen it . It's one of my first videos
@@hicostlocost ua-cam.com/video/pcCEigCUFAQ/v-deo.htmlsi=W5ulfWpFObyNdjnB
@@ADVDad-hw9ls Watching now. I've taken my tenere all over the country and through Atlantic Canada. It's a fantastic road bike and rarely needs a dirt nap. I wouldn't try to do any actual off-roading, but fire roads and what not are great. This is restricted by my skill level, of course.
@hicostlocost today I think I pushed the limit with the ST , I've being hanging with a friend who has ktm890 adventure, and today he took me to some crazy trails. I will be uploading videos from this ride next weekend

@@americandude3825 thank you
I don't think you'll learn much offroad on such a big bike. You'll probably drop it 10 times, you'll then be exhausted and conclude this is not a good match. The "big adventure" bikes, in the hands of most riders, are fine for highway, gravel roads and maybe flat dry dirt. They are great touring bikes though.
@balladofbalfe8914 I've dropped it over 10 times already 😆. I did ride small dirt bikes and mountain bikes. And I might get another dirt bike to practice some more. I've posted some videos of the tip of rides I do with this bike if you want to watch them. Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend
Goats. Yummy. Were they out of the fence? 😂
@americandude3825 According to the locals, these goats they are free-ranging, but I'm sure they most have somewhere safe to spend the night, or they would be eaten by the predators.
@@ADVDad-hw9ls nice! Pretty neat!
Nice video, I love my ST
Thank you. I love this bike too
Is that an ABS switch on the left side of the gauge cluster? I'm thinking about doing that to my super Tenere pretty soon!
That is for the fog light. I'm thinking about doing the same.
I think what you see in the video it's a heated grips switch.
Fwew. Road not for tall vehicles. Hahaha
Lol needs a special vehicle . Something with knobby tires 😆
Thanks for the info in your review, my S10 has the same givi box mount fitted so I now know it will fit, size looks good on bike and is the closest match to the Bumot defender panniers that came with my bike.
You are very welcome. They are a good quality product.
I have a 390 adventure and I’m having trouble selling it, no because no one will buy it, I just can’t part with it, 70mph on the road great on no maintenance roads and it fits in the bed of my Nissan frontier, and if I lay it down I’m not out 12000 bucks lol
If you got a truck, then you don't need a big bike. Big bike is good for multi-day trips with a passenger and some load. If you want the bike just for fun. Then a small one is better

That's more than one snake!
2 or 3. And I don't know how many are hiding over there 😆
How many? Just the one? Rat snakes eat other snakes and are harmless to humans, but not good for chickens. And when they are that big, I don’t want them around.
There's more than one. They keep getting in the chickens coop and steal eggs .

I'm looking forward to a big trail trip this fall. I'm concerned it may be too technical. Your trail doesn't look bad at all, I'm hoping mine is like that!
It's a lot of fun. If the trail is technical , take a friend or two. Because it's a pain to be lifting that bike by yourself. This trail had a couple of sections they were a little bit technical .
