Thanks for recommending the Literary Salon to me! I read Juno's book The Gender Games as I started to teach myself about other people's lived experiences. This was amazing and I have added a couple of her fiction books to my shelves to try :)

'Mama's Boy' is by far the most meaningful book I have ever read. I bought it a good two years ago and haven't really put it down since - I take it with me pretty much everywhere I go and reread the bits I love the most. Lance and his authentic, insightful and empowering stories have changed my life for good. In fact, I didn't even approve of homosexuality a few years ago, and now I'm trying to bring up the courage to stand up for them whenever I'm in a situation where gay people are being discriminated against (which is still happening far too often in the conservative area I live in). I hope that Lance can recognize how much good he's doing to the world. He really does move the needle, for even if it's just in some individuals it still makes a difference.

Inspirational.. probably, the best book i have ever read, and Lancers generosity in sharing his moms story. I always thought that Lance was lucky marrying Tom. I now really see who the lucky one was.

Love that humor..." Completely uninsurable." Gotta read it. No one wants to believe youngsters are living in a very civilized and immodestly dangerous world....

I read the book Mama's Boy and I found it insightful to a special family nd how they relate to each other. The relation between Lance and his mother was an eye opener and what made Lance the man that he is today. The book is very good and worth the time to read. This was a great bridge to help people understand each other. Kiddos to you Lance and thanks to your mom for her love for her boys and the acceptance of who each of sons were and the men they became.

Kerry Hudson's book, "Lowborn," is more than just her story but everyone in every town born not to privilege. I hope you can take the time to listen to her read a portion of her book, her life. Having taught children at risk in the Orlando, Florida area this touched me and I revisited children in my mind with great challenges wondering where they are and how they have gone on. Kerry's words are rich and paint a visual of the living, growing up, the leaving, and the now! It reflects a modern, "Charles Dickens." God Bless and happy listening and maybe getting her book. ~Deb A.
