Excerpt from "James Paul McCartney" 1973 TV special. Members of the public, who are hilariously bad singers, crucify some Beatles hits.

A great demo with a Who-ish opening salvo. Iveys / Badfinger true musical pioneers in many respects though.
They are NOT "engineers", they are "technicians" (or "technical operatives"). One might ask what type of technician, they are "engineering technicians", or an "electronics/communications technician". In the same way dental technicians are completely different to dentists. An engineer is a professional person like a doctor, lawyer, dentist etc., and requires about 8 years formation including an honors degree (now to Master's level) over 4 or 5 years before professionally supervised work. Equipment is designed by engineers, it is not installed or repaired by them! Every country in the world understands this but some people in Britain/England keep referring to anybody with a screwdriver in this incorrect way.
this has to be the most boring post ever
@mrcuttingcrew Coming from you, I take that as a compliment, you have committed crimes against music. (it wasn't intended to be 'interesting' to liven up dull people).
Ahead of its time
A hard rockin' song!!
I couldn't remember this song title and started bumming out! I just kept thinking & finally some of the lyrics came to me. I NEEDED to hear this omg!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Any idea what date this was please? Thank you for this rare track newhaw .hero!!
Who knows what Ray Davies thinks...😄😄😄
My all-time favorite band.
Esquire Club, Sheffield ‘65?
I'm pretty sure James Williamson of the Stooges was listening to that guitar solo. Raw Power
Miss this band so much. Great tribute, what did you think Steve ?
I'm just listening to the Mal Evans biography. Mal persuaded Apple to sign The Iveys but only after a lot of apathy from The Beatles, Neil Aspinall and Peter Asher. They had signed James Taylor and Mary Hopkins and didn't think The Iveys were strong enough. Mal kept getting The Iveys to record more demos, and this was the 4th one. It sounds pretty rough, even for a demo, but it got them in the door.
The fleur de Lys version is so much better.
A cover version of a controversial Who B side. Introduction by your old mate the late Brian Matthew.
I love this band! Underrated band!
Simply splendid. RIP Pete,Tommy and Gary.
Finsbury Park (above some pub) 1965/6 'ish. Quite a band.
Good track. They were at their best doing pop songs, rather than extended jams.
Barbara Ruskin never released this song herself . But Marilyn Powell did and it was the B side of - Please Go Away / Where Did I Go Wrong? on Fontana - TF 526 in Jan 1965. Marilyn's version is a fantastic version and copies sell for good money.
Que buen cantante💯
The picture you show with the song is incorrect. Jimmy Page did not play on this track it was Paul Samwell-Smith Page came later and played bass first then lead after Beck left in November 1966.. If you listen to this live version Jeff Beck misses at least two intros.
This version has better guitar tone then the original !
Que voz del gran Alexis Korner, el verdadero padre del blues británico🇬🇧 junto al padrino de este género musical John Mayall🇬🇧 QEPD Leyendas (1928-1984) (1933-2024)
Every team talk we would get beat over the head with TRC, Like working for a debt collector
yep it used to get on my nerves I was pair proving for years and went in the queues weekends but was still expected to hit the TRC targets
Man, Dave's guitar sound, mnnnnnnnnnnnn
Hilariously penny-pinching video
Brian Mattews 📻🎙️🇬🇧 Bsdfinger 🍏🇬🇧🎸
Merci.
how do you call a call centre to report a fault with your phone?😂
Is that Mr. Long John Baldry?

occasionally a girl surprises me when she turns out to be you
My main job working for Bt, what is a pole tester but when privilege-on came a long bt we’re worried about losing customers to the composition so they want to be seen to be the best so for a few years us pole testers were put on faults luckily I spent sum time with great falls people so I was pretty good it most of the time it wold be an out side fault but some times in the customers home most of the time it was were and tear but some times in was down to the costumer we use to pick up are faults up from the control by finding a call box and phone up with a special number a write it down the controller would only tell us that the phone was not now working so I never change anyone after all they paid my wages so I want them to be an happy customer we were taking off faults because the health and safety people were complaining about the Pole test cycle getting behind😊
Lyrics: I had a dream last night that scared me Upon a strange and distant shore Although I feel inside it can't be I know that I've been there before I’ve never been there in the daytime I might have been there in the night Although I know it was no playtime In fact I’ve never known such fright I know that I have been there once before Although it’s in the future I am sure They fly by in their tight formation Each model dwarfs the ones before Metallic birds in their migration I know a few will fly no more A supersonic flying delta A flying fortress at its side Spectators flee in holy terror As they watch the two collide I know that I have been there once before Although it’s in the future I am sure A day long second and they’re falling A plume of smoke, a sheet of flame I hear the sound of voices calling , calling
Everbody clap your hand right now . . . .😎
My favorite jam
Saw them several times at Bluesville, Ipswich. Presented by Nanda and Ron Lesley.
No way this happened! Well, yes way, when you put the pieces together. But before web, this would still be lost. Incredible
A great cover of The Shadows 🎵 🎶 0:57
This song easily could have been a 1960’s “anthem” song. This is a rough cut gem. Great structure and 1960’s psychedelic sonics. Great time signature transitions. Really a massive song.
Came to this song thru the Jam .
Love it
Wow!!! Tommy's ever adaptable voice!!!❤
Moonie is God of the drums
Feedback before Jimi.
Poor BT. This why BT are still so institutionalised even today. I deal with them every working day and they’re so bureaucratic.
Jeez. I did this song with my 60s band. Forgot a lot of it. Great song!
The Greatest!
Hell yeah, what an awesome rough n' ready version of an already weird song in their catalogue.
Rockin'!
top of the morning to you!😊
