Pillow fight day?? I am Hungarian and I never heard about it... Maaaan, like minimum 100+ other more interesting facts about the country and Hungarians... for example János Neumann (John von Neumann) - One of the most brilliant mathematicians of the 20th century, von Neumann made substantial contributions to many fields, including the development of the modern computer. He laid the groundwork for the architecture of today’s computers with his concept of a stored-program computer. Dénes Gábor - Awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1971, Gábor invented holography in 1947, the technique for generating three-dimensional images, leading to numerous applications ranging from security to entertainment. Albert Szent-Györgyi - He won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1937 for his discoveries concerning the biological combustion processes with special reference to vitamin C and the catalysis of fumaric acid. His work led to the isolation of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Kálmán Kandó - A pioneer of electric railway traction, Kandó developed the first successful electric railway locomotives, which were used widely in Hungary. His innovations also laid the groundwork for the electrification of railway systems around the world. Leó Szilárd - A physicist who conceived the nuclear chain reaction and the nuclear reactor, Szilárd was instrumental in the development of atomic energy. He was also a key figure in the beginning stages of the Manhattan Project. Edward Teller - Often referred to as "the father of the hydrogen bomb," Teller was a key figure in the development of nuclear weapons. His work was pivotal during the Cold War era. András Gróf (Andrew Grove) - A pioneer in the semiconductor industry, Grove was a founder and CEO of Intel Corporation. He played a crucial role in the development of integrated circuits and microprocessor technologies that propelled the growth of personal computers. Theodore Kármán - A mathematician, aerospace engineer, and physicist who was instrumental in the development of aerodynamics in aviation. He is renowned for his work on the mathematics of fluid flow, turbulence, and aerodynamic stability. His theories have foundational applications in modern aerospace engineering. Ányos Jedlik - One of the unsung pioneers of the electrical motor, Jedlik invented the first rotary machine with electromagnets. He created a device in 1828, which used a simple commutator, that is considered the prototype of the dynamo and the electric motor. Kálmán Tihanyi - An influential figure in the development of electronic television, Tihanyi invented the charge-storage principle and the charge-storage tube in the 1920s. These inventions were critical components that contributed to the development of fully electronic television. Zoltán Bay - A physicist who made significant contributions to radar technology. Bay was credited with inventing a form of microwave radar in 1936. He also led a team that detected radar reflections from the Moon in 1946, predating the American and Soviet lunar radar experiments. István Horváth - A chemist who developed a method for producing a biodegradable plastic. Horváth's contributions are significant in the field of environmentally friendly plastics, providing an alternative to traditional plastics and helping to reduce pollution and waste.

The restoration of the Great Synanogue was financially aided by the late Tony Curtis, who was born as Bernard Schwartz to Hungarian immigrant parents in the Bronx. He did not speak English until he was 6 and went to school also, and still could speak Hungarian fluently in his older years. He visited Hungary several times as did his daughter, Jamie Lee.

After my 40 years this is the first time I ever heard this pillow fight. Not a realy important or known thing. There are better things like Hungarian-Polish freindship day 23. march, or 15. march the national revolotion day, and many others. By the way this is a very informative and good video. Respect!

I am living in Slovakia (former Northern Hungary for more than 1000 years) in a town near Hungarian border and I never heard of the pillow fight, too. 😂Instead of this idiotism you could have mentioned dozens of more substantial and important things - Hungarian engineer Kálmán Kandó built the first railway in Italy with electric traction in 1902 - Valtellina. And he also designed the first Hungarian electric locomotive with alternative current when this type of electric traction did not yet exist in Europe... and so on.....
