Remember that Ritchie Blackmore was only 24 or 25 when he did this which was nothing short of incredible. Amazing guitarist.

Generally overlooked are every note, tone, accent & choice that Bill Bruford makes on drums and percussion. His interactive clever imagination is so crucial to & intertwined with every complex section & arrangement here throughout! Cinematically the song is clearly brilliantly arranged to pull & take you on an adventure whether you wanted to or not! Sonically before even analyzing how, YES sucks you in to each unexpected transition so abruptly yet so seamlessly with excellent pacing through perfectly timed fluid mood changes without any sensation of feeling arbitrary or unnecessary. GENIUS that I can delight in listening to a thousand times and still find some undiscovered magic within each time! So what's up MORE 70's YES REACTION?

I've had the pleasure of seeing them live twice. My favorite BOC song and always will be. The beginning of Stephen King's "The Stand" (1994 and best version) features this at the beginning. Some folks back when this was on the radio every day thought it was encouraging suicide but deep down it's a love song. "The love of two is one". Another band with this kind of vibe and depth you need to check out if you haven't already is Kansas. Fun fact: Before they were Blue Oyster Cult, they were The Great White Underbelly.

Welcome aboard my fellow Space Trooper.....I was lucky to have a big hippy brother who turned me on to YES in `68 and when the band members changed with RICK & Steve joining for the Yes album, they really took off....Jon said they used to checkout Pink Floyd one time and new they had to practice more to match their skills and they did....Now my grand kids have become Space Troopers and started using Grandpa`s hand me down drums and guitar who knows you might even catch the itch, arreviderci Trooper Hart
