Yeah I really didn't like Vanillary. I didn't get any vanilla from it, just a weird soort of floral essential oil bouquet.

I live in the tropics and this is a winner for me. It smells so clean and fresh without having a screechy citrus.

How has the bag been holding up? Is it durable?

I have 2 vintages, one from the 1950s and 1960s. Vintage is much more gorgeous and natural smelling, has lost some of the top notes but doesn't last. Current version is horribly synthetic and strong alcohol in the opening but gets better and more similar to the original in the basenotes and lasts much much longer. It's a total trade off.

Do you have any pics with it on? I just got mine but like you said, its difficult to find reviews on this size 😊

I got the knock-off (Kalolary) on Amazon for about $130, which is less than half the price of the Beautifect, but still very high quality. If I traveled at least every 2-3 months, or had more use for it, I would have purchased the Beautifect instead, but I only travel maybe 3 times a year which would not justify the price of a Beautifet. Plus, I use my vanity for daily makeup application, so no need for the Beautifect. The differences between the Kalolary and the Beautifect is Kalolary case is only 3 cm (a little over one inch) less wide than the Beautifect, but it's just as long and just as deep as th Beautifect. Also the Kalolary, only has one button to adjust the lighting, whereas the Beautifect has three, but you still get the full range of light options like the Beautifect. Also the Kalolary has a circular magnifying mirror versus a square one in the Beautifect. Hope this helps someone who is on a budget or doesn't need to spend that much for a case that they won't use much. However, yes, in the future, I plan on buying the Beautifect just for the experience, and maybe some of its accessories (traveling brushes and beauty sponge). FOr now, I LOVE the Kalolary, it's not too heavy, fun, very practical and pretty!

I recently found out that ALL Jean Patou scents have been discontinued aka killed off. Also, I read how the original Joy formula or scent first changed way back in the 80's and then changed every single time the company got bought out. Very unfortunate either way, mainly because this is or was my mother's favorite perfume along with Deneuve which has long since been discontinued.

Your nails look lovely but like you said I'm not sure if it looks anything extra, especiallygiven the price point. Funny enough i looked at mine this morning and apart from Boots a glass nail file & nail oil i don't have anything to glam them up a bit; I like the wax and buff my local salon uses💅

I was just gifted a bottle of Joy Parfum by Jean Patou today by a very kind volunteer at a thrift store that supports victims of domestic violence. In the display case was a bottle of this iconic perfume with a price tag of $30. Unfortunately it was over my budget. After I paid for my items, I told them the following true story. When I was married to my first husband in 1987, he came home from work and said, “I bought you the most expensive perfume in the world. I bought you Joy perfume. Then he hands me the box. Well right on the front it says‘Version of Joy’. At the bottom was the price tag for $10.50. I was very upset for two reasons. 1 because he could have afforded the real thing. 2 because he must have thought I was too stupid to notice the difference. After I told them that story, one of the volunteers says hold on, I’m going to give you something. Then she opens a drawer and takes out a small box and hands it to me. 37 years later and I finally have the real thing. I am so overjoyed right now.

Alot of people have been saying you can't really fit the bigger brushes in, and that the thing is a bit heavy - considering it's supposed to be for travel purposes.

I know it's been a while since you posted it and you may not have the bag any more, but I wanted to ask you something about the colour as I can't quite work out what it is. I love light blue, but there are so many shades of it and one particular shade - cornflower or denim or even periwinkle blue (with a distinct gray hue) - has been particularly trendy in the past few years. Unfortunately, I really don't like that specific blue and already bought a Furla bag online that turned out to be exactly what I was hoping it wouldn't be! Would you say this Coash Prairie in sage is cornflower blue? I've watched your video on several different screens (iPhone, laptop, deskotop) and it looks different on each one! Any help you can offer will be invaluable and much appreciated! Thanks anyway! x

I love his one my favourite and I save it for special occasions but I think they have now changed the scent the bottle is slightly darker in colour and smells less fruity and more musky the other one I’ve had for around a year and picked this one up yesterday
