The RC T-28 FMS Trojan low flying: Flight Five
The RC T-28 Trojan has a 1400 mm wingspan. Powered by a 6400mAh 4S lipo.
Flight Review:
In this flight, I taxied south, then took off north, pulling up just as I cleared the tarmac! With a recalculated flight time, I knew I could fly for at least 6 minutes and land with ~40% battery. I kept it low and practiced smooth maneuvers to get a feel for the rates and overall handling. Did a touch-and-go followed by a full-stop landing-both successful on the tarmac!

The RC T-28 FMS Trojan: Flight Four

The RC T-28 Trojan has a 1400 mm wingspan. Powered by a 6400mAh 4S lipo. Flight Review: The aircraft taxied smoothly to the runway's south end for a wind-aided takeoff. A conservative throttle application ensured a smooth climb to altitude immediately after departing the tarmac, following the previous flight's belly landing. My objective was to operate cautiously, verifying the absence of any u...
RC T6 Harvard (AKA the Texan): Flight Eleven
Переглядів 3017 годин тому
The T-6 is propelled by a single electric motor powered by a 6400mAh 4S LiPo battery. The new motor was upgraded from 1000kv to 820kv. Flight Review: The motor combination is really successful! I've enjoyed flying this with more power - smooth flight, gentle turns, a couple of stall turns, inverted leg, touch and go, and a decent tarmac landing which only got out of controlat the very end. This...

The RC T-28 Trojan has a 1400 mm wingspan. Powered by a 5000mAh 4S lipo. #RCplane Flight Review: This was my second flight of the day. After takeoff, I performed a quick systems check to ensure level flight, then we switched pilots after landing. The landing was quite fast; I didn't realise my speed until touchdown. It doesn't appear as fast in the GoPro footage, but I assure you, my approach w...

The RC T-28 Trojan has a 1400 mm wingspan. Powered by a 5000mAh 4S lipo. #RCplane Flight Review: The previous flight unfortunately resulted in an accident. Following the incident, the cockpit sustained significant damage, and the nose section separated from the aircraft. I experienced a delay of over a month awaiting a replacement propeller. As a temporary measure, I substituted a 13x8 two-blad...
RC P51-D Mustangs: Flight Twenty-Five

Aircraft Details: This Mustang is equipped with a 1000kv E-flite motor and a 45-amp ESC. Its power supply relies on a 2200mAh 4S lipo battery. Flight Review: In this flight, you see the hand launch of the other Mustang. The cross wind was so much that I managed to take off across the width of the tarmac. Blustery conditions made it extremely difficult to get in behind the other Mustang. Most of...

The P-40 Warhawk model is propelled by an 850kv Dualsky motor and a 13x8 propeller, powered by a 5000mAh 4S LiPo battery. Flight Review: The model aeroplane smoothly accelerated down the runway, exhibiting a slight leftward drift. A gentle elevator input initiated a graceful climb once sufficient speed was achieved. Considering a previous flight resulted in an overheated ESC, I cautiously avoid...
RC Bush Mule Twin Engine FPV: Flight Twelve

A flight was conducted in a stormy environment. This aircraft is the avios bush mule, which is powered by a 3000 mAh 4S LiPo battery. Flight Review: The flight commenced across a field, achieving lift-off just before encountering rough terrain. Given the twin motors, I was interested in observing the flight duration with the 3400 mAh LiPo battery. Upon landing, the battery indicated 33% charge ...
Flying the Mustang in absolute Rc trainer app!
Переглядів 8512 годин тому
Before I got back into flying RC, I used the "Absolute RC flight simulator" to give me a chance to get my bearings back. This video is just a quick explanation of how to fly a plane in the simulator. The physics seem to be quite accurate and a great way to practice on the go or even explore which time of plane you'd like to fly in real life.

    The wing is a trapezoid wing. Measure your wing root chord and wing chord tip. Add your wing root chord and wing chord tip together and divide it by 2 and it will give you the mid wing chord. Then your cg will be at 25-30% of your mid chord from the leading edge. Assuming your mid wing chord is 10cm. 10cm÷100×25= 2.5cm. To 10cm÷100×30=3cm. Your cg will be at 2cm to 3cm.

  • @slappyjoe6782
    @slappyjoe6782 2 місяці тому

    The manual will tell you exactly where the CG is. With most of my builds, there are no manuals. The CG should be right behind the leading edge of the wing. Generally, depending on the size of plane it's anywhere from 1 - 3 inches from the leading edge. A nose heavy plane is easier to fly than a tail heavy one.

    • @HarrysHobbies
      @HarrysHobbies 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for the tips. I've always preferred nose heavy planes myself, too. I was gifted this balancer and wanted to try and find that perfect balance, between good speed and precision without affecting the ground handling and landings.

  • @__Gus_

    Two fingers under the wing where the CG supposed to be and done i dont need all the fancy equipment 😉

  • @stankeychankey69
    @stankeychankey69 2 місяці тому

    Mark the wing at the location indicated in the manual. With the airplane facing towards you, place an index finger on each wing exactly where you made the marks. Gently raise the airplane. When your RC airplane is perfectly balanced it will sit level on your fingertips with the nose just slightly downward.

    Use tire weights flat ones with the adhesive back. Once you get the correct ounces you need epoxy them with some 5min mix. You don't want them coming loose when In flight. Your builders manual should tell you where the weight should be placed you could remove the wings and stick them behind the fuselage eventually spaced.

    To find the center of gravity (CG) on an RC plane, you can use a balancing method where you place the plane on a support point, typically a thin rod or dowel, and adjust the position of the battery or other weights until the plane balances perfectly level, indicating the CG is directly over the support point; most importantly, consult your plane's manual for the recommended CG range. Key steps: Identify the reference point: Most RC planes have a marked "datum line" on the fuselage which serves as a reference point for measuring CG position. Balancing method: Support point: Place the plane on a thin rod or dowel, ensuring it is positioned at the recommended CG location according to the manual. Adjust weight distribution: If the plane tips forward, move the battery or other weights slightly backwards; if it tips backwards, move the weights slightly forward. Fine-tune: Once the plane balances perfectly level, mark the position of the battery or weights to maintain the correct CG. Important considerations: Manufacturer's recommendations: Always consult your RC plane's manual for the specified CG range, as this is crucial for stable flight. Weight distribution: Consider the weight of all components like the motor, battery, servos, and any added accessories when adjusting CG. Flying characteristics: If your plane is not flying as expected, slightly adjust the CG within the recommended range to achieve better stability. Alternative methods (less common): CG calculator: Some online tools allow you to calculate the CG based on the weight and position of individual components. Scale method: You can use a scale to measure the weight distribution of your plane and calculate the CG mathematically.

    This is what is called a foam lump. Its not a real model plane. A real model plane starts as paper plans or plans in a box of wood and involves an entire winter to build. That is an rc plane that gets "maiden" flights. This lump of chinese foam is not real. If you want to be a real rc pilot then show the maiden of your plane that you built. ARF's dont count.

    • @HarrysHobbies
      @HarrysHobbies 3 місяці тому

      @Thenheals That's funny, especially because it is a balsa model. I see a maiden as a first flight for any new plane to me. The front cowling is a combination of plastic, hand carved foam, and modge podge. Painted with hobby grade acrylics. I'm glad to hear from a passionate builder keep up the good work.
