The only matcha I can find here is a 100g bag for 7 bucks. Barely green, almost brown, but tastes fine. I whisk it with a frappe hand mixer with hot water not boiling and add honey and soy milk. I can’t describe the taste but it’s tasty. The end product is a pale green drink. The box says it’s imported from Japan so whatever

In my experience, cheap matcha tastes fishy somehow, but quality matcha has a rich earthy herbal taste, it’s not exactly for everyone but i enjoy it

Yep, we need to mix it with hot or warm milk. Or whisk the matcha powder with a lil bit of warm water first then add the rest of the milk

Dairy for Matcha late? Buaahh, a no go! I always use almond Milk and also make Matcha Tea with warm water and then add the almond milk to it. Never use just Milk and Matcha only it doesn‘t taste as good by itself.

The best way I’ve found to remove clumps without using a sifter is to turn the matcha into a paste first. Use a back-and-forth motion until it’s fully dissolved, then add water on top. It froths so much more that way! I learned this technique from a Japanese friend.

I must say the British/modern Chinese brewing method is way superior. The Chinese ditched the matcha method around 1300 for a reason.

Not quite, during the W and N motion you are trying to get the matcha to a much creamier texture, during which you create bubbles. At the same time, you should be trying to 'cut' the big bubbles away, leaving only the small bubbles, then finishing with the circular motion around the bowl and ending in the center (as shown in the clip). In this demonstration, there was one big bubble remaining, and the matcha is not creamy enough, which means the whisking wasn't done for a long enough duration.
Tastes too much like Kratom. Matcha can taste very foul.
