How about i use it on braided line? Will it damage it?

They're called Waggler floats in te UK, and there are many styles. Some are made for current, some for still water. To get them out they are used with very long Match Fishing Rods.

I, too, am a newbie. I got a Pelican Mode 110 because the cost was right, it fits into the back of my truck and was available from my local TSC store. The learning curve is slightly steeper than I had anticipated, but I'll get there. I'm in Michigan and there are so many smaller lakes in my area that I cannot put my bass boat into. So, I'll be able to explore next Spring when I return from Texas. I like your setup and I hope it works well for you. The massive amount of UA-cam videos was, for the most part, helpful once I sorted out what was best for me. Best of luck next year!

Technically couldn't you strip down a rod and reconfigure it? Re glue the reel seat and guides on the opposite side? Im thinking of buying bass pros micro lite spinning rod but want to turn it into a bfs rod... Theres no reason once you strip a rod down to a bare blank, it can't be swapped? Is there? Aren't all blanks the same until you configure the components which makes it one or the other? Or am I wrong?

I didn't know that the eye hook nearest to the handle is for holding the hook. Instead I used it to channel my fishing wire through. So no wonder I was unable to cast well. Now I know what that eye hook is for. Thanks

Thanks. I recovered an Abu Garcia closed face reel while scuba diving. I've got it cleaned up and the rear line release button pulls the line catch pin into the bell, but when I turn the handle I cant get the line catch pin to extend back out of the bell. Not sure what mechanism triggers it.

Using weights like that on the main line will weaken and probably break it, they are meant to be attached below the hook on a separate piece of line so you can change depth quickly if needed.

There’s gonna be some people confused so to those that say “oh it’s a snakehead kill it” it’s just a bowfin, a small one. I caught 1 while fishing with my ultra light it was around 8 pounds I thought I was gonna break the rod

Bowfin can grow quite big. This is still a baby. Also known as dogfish, I believe.

Hi and thank you for your great informational videos. You mentioned that you generally do not buy a reel with less then 4+1 bearing system. In an earlier video you mentioned that you were very familiar with the Pflueger reels, do like those reals as they have a 10 bearing system? If so which would you recommend?
