Im trying to find a Kenmore bagless because I miss Sears the most. This most be the smaller kenmore bagless canister here.
That's a very nice Fantom Domestic 11 Amp with white accents in the video. I do have both of the Fantom Fury and Thunder how to videos.
Are you planning on selling these units? I have that unit from 93 or 94. I keep it maintained and it runs like a champ! Need new wands though too. Looking for good suggestions on replacement wands.
@@brentelliott2026 this one is currently not for sale. It’s the only one I have. As for wands, many portable and central vacuums used the wands those have. Something like this should work: www.ebay.com/itm/303102538662?_skw=metal+vacuum+wands&itmmeta=01J8TKX2R1HVVW5VZ9NAVPJD02&hash=item469251b3a6:g:9PoAAOxyLN9Shiup&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKm8n3AONiosWRlBesoXE1CPiyAsOONROtExq3mUc49xi4xRTRpkSVnrZJNwH0RA49CDrJgEkT2Wa8V31kQa7P8gIr97lDB%2F499WYnhG%2BDlOXFiuy3asfUSGgiaFBEulvOzHAXLmYOXGOz4RUwUF1zBCtW3fn38q6brn4xkgzNhyuVIWZfL2rIs5yTTG9hbdVzH6parrfSR%2BpRlWQO8%2BC21HIKqy2zb5qGJhWEaLNO0zXY6OhAR%2FDaWqBt%2B9ehU9g%2FxOWYqeocHOMNB9G2r9SLkeZUeG8nWmLKQwOLn0NJ6MlQ%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4ys9NPGZA
I seriously love those.

how old is the silver king ae canister vacuum
@@anoukvaneijck probably was made sometime in the 1960’s
Hi Mitchell, I have the same exact vacuum, I bought my parents house in 1996 and they left me the vacuum and I still have it today, it’s in perfect condition and actually the same exact color , you mentioned that they came out in 1999, is it possible they could have came out earlier because I know that this was left behind when I bought the house in 1996 ? I’m not trying to say your wrong , you know a heck of a lot more about vacuums than me, I’m just wondering if they had very similar models prior to 1999… thanks
@@johnmellyn2700the Kenmore logo present on this machine didn’t come out until 1997. There was another machine that looked similar to this but with the old logo. The old logo was just the name “Kenmore” no special insignia around it. I verified the date since it’s stamped on the motor. But this basic design of Kenmore was sold for a long time, from about 1988-1989 to about 2001.
@@mitchellfox1998 thanks brother !
I just bought one of these Hoover model 2040 slimline canister vacuum cleaners from the original owner/seller on eBay. They sent me a video of the motor running & switching it off. In the video, it sounds good. One of the back wheels looks like it started disintegrating. But that's ok, I may just use it for parts, as I also have the lime green model 2017, that I bought in memory of my late aunt, who had a model 2017 when I was little. 😊
Got any leads for filters for this one?
@@CEG3RD unfortunately not. If I see any I’ll let you know
My parents have a tristar. It would be the next up model from this. Bought it 20 yrs ago. Still work amazing.
Nice vacuum cleaner how many are in the collection i wonder

Is it hard to hear the music while vacuuming
@@markrich7693 not really from what I remember it’s an old video
I recently dropped mine and i cant figure out how to open it to fix it, i know it has something to do with the slides, but i cant figure them out. Any advice?
@@akawildfire1043 I don’t have any unfortunately. I never took it apart and I no longer have this machine.
I started working at a vac shop towards the tail end of when these were produced. We still had the bucket of sand and the clear disc. I sold a few and ordered the commercial model 4150 for myself. These were great units and I always thought the burgundy Master Dealer ones were gorgeous (we couldn't get those). The handle control models like the one shown in this video were neater than the last versions with the speed control and main power switch on the body.
@@owenperkins great info! They were neater, I think they did that hose revision because of the problems with the hoses shorting out the wands, they often burned out the plugs.
Any idea if anyone repairs them?
My question is what was Hoover thinking using bottom fill design with this.
What bag did you use in place of the D bag?
@@tmmaston Kenmore U hepa bag with electrical tape wrapped around the intake to make a tighter seal
This was also my childhood vacuum. Too bad they don’t make them anymore 😢
Did you end up keeping this or interested in selling it?
How did you replace the motor in that Vectron?
@@zmanifest it’s the original motor, I just had it serviced
@@mitchellfox1998 That’s great! I have just acquired a 1996 Fantom Thunder and I am getting ready to restore it. The challenge I have right now is getting into the motor housing to clean the dust out, I would like to get into the motor to clean it up properly and thoroughly. The Thunder is notorious for its lack of pre motor filtration, and the last thing I want is excessive dust accumulation to eventually lead to the motor burning out. If you can do a video of how to get into the motor housing, that would be helpful. Thanks
I’ve never used one of those but I’d love to
Do you by chance have this one or the broken one you mentioned still? And if you do, would you consider selling one?
The 9 amp models were identical in design to this one other than the lights and color. I think they also had white cords.
@@DonivanCurtis900 they were similar. The 9 amps did have black cords. The vectron actually had a 10 amp motor, but similar to the 9 amp motor.
Nice machine.
Love this
I could listen to this guy talk all day... He has a total ASMR voice to me... anyway.... just so I'm clear.... the airway was great back then because they basically used a HEPA bag?
For the time, the genuine Air Way bags filtered to a very high standard, yes. They weren’t hepa, I forget what exact type of paper it was. Unfortunately the genuine airway bags are no longer made.
@@mitchellfox1998 That's a shame. I wonder how they compare with today's HEPA bags? I'm just curious
@@One-Day-After-Another hepa is definitely better, but the airway came very close to
That wand and PN are straight up Tacony products! Thank you for showing this off!
Hi Mitchell, hope you’re doing well. One of my neighbors had one of these a long time ago and I remember she bought it since it was new. I remember using it at her house too when she got it definitely a rare Kenmore you don’t see too often. 😊
I remember theses whenever they were new and had a brochure with it
I just ordered one of these for only $100! Given the outrageous prices people charge for Fantoms now I think I got pretty lucky. I wonder if it would be possible to make a DIY pre-motor filter for it so that less stuff would get into the motor.
There really isn’t sadly, given the design of the machine because there was never a compartment designed to house one. The only way to keep the motor clean is to not pick up too much pet hair and fine dust.
Wow, I definitely love your vacuum collection looks very nice and nostalgic, which I like. 😃😉
I have the same vacuum but it’s only blowing air any suggestions??
Make sure you’re inserting the hose in the correct spot and screw the hose in tightly.
The red dirt devil my aunt and uncle had it for years but they got rid of it instead of giving it too me I want to find a new one for myself
Would you say that these clean well enough for daily use? I am considering buying two of them, one for my collection and another to just use around that house. I have a German Shepard and Lab and a couple of cats so I need a really good cleaner and something that is built well.
They clean carpet very well. I would not recommend them for daily use. The primary reason is replacing parts when they break, as they don’t make anything for them anymore besides belts. They also tend to get brittle so small bits and pieces will start to snap off as it’s so old. Over all that, pet hair is a death sentence to Fantoms. The cyclones aren’t efficient enough to stop hair from getting to the motor, which will eventually cause damage to it. You’ll notice that if you pick up large quantities of pet hair it will start to collect on the filter. I know this after using my fantoms in my parent’s house with our dog. A much better option is a modern Dyson upright, or even better, a good bagged upright like a Riccar or Hoover.
@@mitchellfox1998 Thanks for letting me know! I'm probably gonna get a Dyson Ball Animal 3 instead then, and I would just keep the Thunders for collectors items.
We share a name. I have that same vacuum, too.
Indeed! Unfortunately I sold this machine many years ago.
Wow what a collection of my type of vacuums! What I noticed was the Eureka Excalibur. Those used to be sold as a Volta Mega or Volta F1 models here in Europe. I have White/red Volta F1, but sadly the original motor burned up. All these are made in Sweden and Volta has a lot of to do with Eu Electrolux. Many models crossbranded. My Mom bought brand new Volta Mega in early 90's. It was red with black trim. Very powerful Electrolux 2-stage motor. 1150 watt if I remember correctly. We never saw powerhead models.
Very cool! The translucent blue Kenmore canister and green Eureka whirlwind are also imported Electrolux models!
This is a cool video Mitchell did you ever get the power switch to work on the Dirt Devil? 😊
Yes it’s working!
O Good I’m glad it working Great now! I know before you had to hold down the switch to make it work. I’m assuming when you got the other Dirt Devil, it had a good switch in it from the one of my coworker’s That you sold the shark too. 😊
A beautiful selection of vacuum cleaners! All of them have a strong history too.
nice selection of vacuums :)
Very nice!
Do you still have this vacuum and did you have to replace the motor?
What type of bags does it take
Look up Bissell digipro vacuum bags on eBay or Amazon, they are on there
These direct air or bypass?
Direct air
My mom had this exact vacuum! I grew up with this vacuum running in my house all of the time. I want to get one again.
They are very easy to find on Facebook marketplace, eBay, or a local vacuum cleaner repair shop!
@@mitchellfox1998 Thank you! I will check it out!

my grandma on my dads side of the family also had a similar machine just like this one here too sometime during my early childhood in the early 2000s & then she decided to let me have it at 1 point sometime during like maybe the late 2000s or early 2010s but then unfortunately my parents decided to throw it out as it got old & started wearing out
I have this exact model--still working great. I bought B Style bags for it last week and the hole in the bag is too small. It is only 1 3/4" in diameter. The foam ring inside is 2 1/4" on the outside diameter. I was wondering if perhaps there is a step down piece I accidentally lost. It would fit inside the foam ring of the chassis and then the bag would go over it. Can anyone please tell what I need to do to get bags in the vac? Thank you in advance.
Just found one in my old vacuum shop! Another uncovered!
Very cool, congratulations
