Wow very Impressed! You are a fantastic Artist. I have a huge collection of beer steins, glass, metals, ceramic but my Favorites are 1 liter Stoneware. What is difference between ceramic and Stoneware ?
Stoneware is a type of ceramic clay. There’s porcelain, stoneware, and earthenware. Porcelain has no impurities, which is why it’s white. Stoneware has some impurities (like iron and stuff) that color the clay grey. Earthenware has the most impurities and can be red (if there’s a whole lot of iron) or black or what have you. They all act differently on the wheel and in the kiln because the levels of impurities give them different consistencies. For example, earthenware is less prone to warping or slumping in the kiln, but my ceramics professor said of working with it, “It just kinda mushes around.”
I like the base of mug
thanks. wish we could see your right hand though! how your pulling, tools using etc are out of view.
What was that tool that you used at 1:22
This video is so cool. Though, I wouldn't be talented enough to be able to do it myself!!! If anyone is interested, I am in possession of a renaissance festival beer stein that is handmade and signed: www.ebay.com/itm/171235118594?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
How did you make your templates for the impressions on the mug? Thank you
Its like magic!
