2B's.. used to own a GoPod caravan called Pod, then an Elddis Xplore 304 Sanremo. Now retired on 2.5 acres with a smallholding.
New England Bay
Our Minimoon (Part 2) in July 2021.. New England Bay C&MC site for 4 nights. Very peaceful site, spotlessly clean beach and great weather. Visited Mull of Galloway, Port Logan Fish Pond, Logan Botanic Garden and Aldouran Wetland and Woodland. Just for info, nearest petrol station is in Stranraer.

Electric cable, wind and clean.

Not as easy as it looks .. 🤪. Step is a great help for the winding motion, otherwise knuckles hit the ground. So much faster and always like to put the gear away as clean as possible.

Weight just 6.30kg, light weight material which dries very quickly. Easy to unpack and pack away. Love the fact that the mud skirt reaches the floor and comes out and away for pegging. Rain runs off and not under. Recorded on my iPhone, no frills, just honest talking.
Modifications and tips from our Elddis Sanremo Explore 304 2018.

Great fun .. but watch out for traffic ! Due to a slope upwards from the bend to the glen and the configuration of the surrounding land, it gives an optical illusion making it look like the slope is going the other way ! A stationary car with brakes off will appear to move slowly up hill. Mind boggling 🤪

Our lovely new Pod. Very impressed with it so far. Great features, well made and everything seems to flow, from one end to the other. Modern interior and love the big front window. Too much to say .. so watch the footage on which loads was still missed !

Pod Powwow 2 - 2017 at Naburn Locks, York in full swing with 32 Pods. With much thanks from us Podders to Stratus Photography for the footage. We have limited editing facilities here at 2B's HQ, as the laptop with the 'power' died, but you get the idea. Roll on Powwow 3 !
Pod gets weighed
Переглядів 2 тис.7 років тому
Out of curiosity we took Pod and her holiday contents to a local weigh-bridge. We were a little surprised. Still within the legal limits, but surprised.
£30. Tarp for Pod. For those 1 or 2 night stops.
Переглядів 7 тис.7 років тому
£30.00 tarp with a few modifications for our needs. Easy to put up and take down. Plus a flexible LED strip light which can hang from anywhere.
Pods weights and plates. GoPods are all different, this is how we calculated ours.

Superb
Mr B is just a big scrumptious bear!
Can u get mircowave in Ur pod???
Great video thanks going to view one on Sunday
Crazy these caravans cost so much and people have to do their own adjustment s 😢
Looks good, where did you get it from?
How are you getting on with the Pod?
Just got our 304 thanks for the video
Hi..applied to join the Facebook go-pod owners, but was rejected as im not actually an owner yet…shame because I’d hoped to learn a bit …before I made a decision about whether it’s right for me! maybe you can help? I used to own both a 4mtr and 5.2 mtr long caravans years ago - but never really had a proper tow car…and hated towing ! How does the go pod tow ? Subjective issue I appreciate !
Ah that’s a shame. With a suitable tow vehicle it is a pleasurable and easy tow. Not being as wide as a standard caravan sideward rear visibility is greater. Although shorter than a usual caravan, if you are familiar with reversing it is still relatively easy. We felt that it wasn’t affected when being overtaken by high sided vehicles. Which you would normally feel a caravan buffeting. Good luck with what ever you decide.
Where do you buy beading?
It was a few years ago but we found it on eBay
Great video. Have you taken the fold up table out all together? (The one that was at the back of the wardrobe)
Yes. As there’s only two of us and we have the dinette. Don’t feel the need for it.
Great caravan and Dacia duster as well.
Excellent video. What are the dimensions of the little legs you added to support the bed?
Thank you 😊. Dimensions of legs : 4cm wide/deep. 28.7cm long. Would suggest going for a slight longer length, just incase you cut too short. Test it in place before cutting further.
@@2bsatwoldedge770 thanks
Hi I’ve been watching your channel I love this little caravan would you recommend please let me know reason I’m asking because there’s lots of bad reviews
Can only recommend from personal experience and guess there will be those who have had issues and have not been happy with their purchase. Can only say we love ours, compact, the layout is excellent and moving from kitchen to sink to table and sofa it just seems seamless. Love the big front window as it’s not split into 3. Love the L shaped sofa. The hob is near the door, not against a unit, so can use all of it with ease, no banging of pan handles/pans against the side of anything. Bed has to be made up but it’s not an issue for us. If you want to leave the bed up then you still have the use of the dinette. Only advice we can give is : if buying second hand make sure you have a recent/less than 12 months damp report. If new : go through everything in your ‘van, check under everything, including plastic sheeting. Check all locker catches and doors, just to name a few. Just check everything and if not happy raise it before you leave the forecourt.
This would be perfect for me being a single Man. Stock it up on Friday afternoon. Friday night arrive, get the beers out and enjoy
How practical is it to make up the bed each night ?
Once you have a routine going, it’s easy enough. Top cushions removed, slats pulled out, reposition the lower cushions and add the top cushions. We also put a topper on. I sewed it to a large bed sheet and added elastic loops to the topper corners so it’s easier to fit and remove (the sheet hangs down over the topper so it can be tucked in). If we’re out for most of the day we leave the bed made up. Beauty of having the dinette to sit at.
@@2bsatwoldedge770 yes having the area to sit in the corner is a bonus .........and the van can be towed with a smaller car too....thank you for your reply .helped a lot .
We have just checked our tyres and the van bought new in 2016 but the tyres are 2014 so is that a case of manufacturers stock piling tyres and if so my advice to anyone buying a new caravan check your tyre dates and if two years old get the dealer to replace them,
Really useful and explained simply, Many - thanks.
Hi Mr &Mrs B, watched your diy tarp vid, v good, wot diameter beading did u use and wot is length of channel on roof?
Thanks for the video. I'm not sure the factory weight includes things that Red Lion may add such as the TV and gas bottle. I'm minded to take mine as it was from RL, and then add my stuff on from there.
Weights are complicated but the important matter is the MTPLM (max weight) is not exceeded which in your case is 750kg. MIRO is the weight the caravan left the factory including standard equipment. It is taken by the industry that items such as gas, battery, microwave, oven, mover, tv etc., are not standard, whereas a spare wheel if fitted from the factory, is. The items that are not standard can be further categorised, but in short are classed as user payload and it is the weight of these items that must be monitored so as not to exceed the MTPLM.
Peter Cannon you also asked about weighting whilst attached to the car - weight transfer is a separate matter in itself. We already knew our nose weight. The point we were trying to make, was that even travelling very light as we did for this exercise, it was very easy to exceed the MTPLM, especially with the optional extra equipment being offered on various models. We just added our known nose weight to the weight provided, by the weight bridge.
Don't dig to deep, every thing and everybody can carry a bit extra weight. The tyres are rated for a ton. Life's little risks make things interesting, although I do under stand that some poor folk can hardly cough without consulting a rule or instruction book.
I was just wondering, can one park go pods on the road, as I have no garage or drive way
Ban Powel .. took this off Caravan Guards web page ... It is not illegal to park your caravan on the road, but some insurance companies will not be able to insure the caravan if it is stored on the road. If you are parking the caravan on the road it must be lit at night and comply with the other normal parking rules (the nearside must face the pavement so the rear lights are at the rear for approaching traffic). The caravan should not block anybody’s driveway or create a hazard to other road users, such as blocking visibility around a tight bend. Some local Councils also take a strong line on the nuisance value of caravans and do, in some cases, take legal action. It’s worth checking with your local authority before parking on the road. It’s also worth checking the deeds of your home, or any covenants or tenancy agreements to make sure you can store your caravan within your property, as sometimes restrictions can apply. ..... Plus, as the GoPod is so small, it may well not be there for very long.. hate for you to come home or wake in the morning to find it gone !
@@2bsatwoldedge770 cheers for that, I may look for a garage to rent. Safer
Didn't think this site was quiet ! thank you for your feedback - we will give this a go - -
Where did you get the wrap from?
Rebecca Jones When we initially designed the wrap back in 2018 Van Comfort were very interested and took on the production of the wrap and sold it online as a bespoke item. Minster Products then got wind of it and took an interest, they also produced the wrap at a greatly reduced price. They were selling at around the £50. mark back then, don’t know if they still do.
Only came on here to research Windermere lodge parks - now I'm going to research Pods and Kayaks!! Thanks for video ❤️
Well we were inspired to go and do this next year in our 304 and now having watched all 3 videos, we are going. So thanks for putting these up, we really enjoyed them. Also we were wondering if you've ever posted your itinerary anywhere?
Paul Atkins we have a Facebook page but to be honest, the itinerary is as the videos. If you wish for clarity or have any questions, feel free to drop us a line. Bsinapod-2@hotmail.com
Lovely sites and has the new shape dusty exceeded expectations of the trip too and which variant model is it or will you do a review on how it compares to the older duster comfort, mpg, does it feel like it's towing the lovely pod2 elddis thankyou
Rich Road Thanks for watching our Outer Hebrides tour.. Yes they were really good sites, all provided just what we needed. We love the Duster and this is our second. This one is just one month old and has exceeded all expectations. More rugged looking and better quality/finish inside. Ours is the 2019 4wd diesel Comfort, which replaced the 4wd diesel Laurette and after our trip of 1299 miles, on average we did 34 mpg, 95% was towing. We believe that's a brilliant result. At the moment we don't plan on doing a video review, but it's something to think about.
@@2bsatwoldedge770 thankyou this is what I should have done in the first place instead of our 2015 new shape Renault Traffic converted campervan but a good conversion all the same but miss having a car or suv as it our main transport lol hindsight! Plus I was looking into driver training for caravan towing didn't get much done Wife seen traffic campervan so plans went different never mind one day
Mesmerized
Wow and wow again fantastic scenery I don't care about the wind it's part of the journey keep it up
Thanks for the video tour, very useful. Is the only storage area for bedding/quilts/pillows etc under the two small seats of the bunk beds? or can you store under the main seating in the lounge? thanks
Mr SteveVee There isn't much storage space under the L shaped lounge as this is taken up with the heating system and a drawer. We store one box in the left corner, next to the battery. The box is 40cmL x 33cmW and 18cmT. This is the largest clear area under the seating. We store pillows, Hoover and TV under the small seats. The duvet, topper, sheet and collapsed foot stool/storage box goes in the top bunk instead of the mattress and ladder which are now in storage at home. Hope this helps.
Yes that helps a lot thank you, appreciate the swift reply. As someone who is new to caravanning (and new to retirement as well lol) your video was of exceptional interest as the 304 the one we are most interested in, we did consider a pod so we watched your other vids but decided that if we managed to stoop low enough to move inside, our old bones wouldn't ever straighten out again! Enjoy the van and keep posting them videos :) Thanks @@2bsatwoldedge770
Mr SteveVee If you’re interested.. On Facebook there is a 302/304 page. Here many people join to obtain feedback on the vans before making a decision to purchase. Just an option. Good luck on what ever you choose.
Thanks for the heads up, I'll give it a visit
Great video! So did you sew on the caravan beading to the tarp or did you buy it with the beading already on?
Hi. We sewed it on. Hand sewn too as didn’t have a sewing machine at this point 😁. Sewn twice along both edges of beading leaving a 3 to 5 mm gap at the beading edge so it was possible to feed it trough the rail.
@@2bsatwoldedge770 Thanks for your reply. I have a tiny Kip caravan, and I'm thinking of doing something similar. Thanks for your video, it's great. :)
5 year date stamp. Is it UK Law or s recommendation to replace them at 5 years cheers

I love how much you love your new little 'van. It seems tiny to me, having a fixed bed 'van, but I imagine after your pod it seems huge. It does seem to have a lot of room in a tiny package. Happy new caravan :)
David Bell Thank you. Yes, she's huge to us but still small compared to many. 👍

scottie scott. If you do venture onto FB look out for ‘go Podpals (owners)’ Secret Page dedicated to Pods only.
The tyre on the caravan is not a commercial tyre it should be a 175r13c the tyre shown was a 175/70r13
I guess it adds up for social media memes but the initial purchase price of £280 plus the sims would buy a lot of site wifi.
Yes it adds up. Horses for courses you might say. Caravan & Motorhome club and camping and Caravan Club yearly wifi is over £30 each and neither allow more than one device, so there's an increase in its self. Plus we also use independent sites with their own wifi setup and Pod all year round so we think it's great value for money and as we see no end in our caravanning life it will soon pay for itself.
Current chassis plate no longer shows the factory weight.
Matt where is this site ??? I've just bought a touring caravan, might check this site out , As you where . !!!!!
R JONES .. west coast of Scotland, North Ledaig. CCC and C&M list it on their club sites but it's open to anyone .. been twice in October and had brilliant weather .. as you can see 👍
