I didn't have time for recording anything and I found this video in my computer #art #krita #drawing
I recommend you stay away (as for now) from foreshortening (what you tried to do with the hand holding a cup) as it requires a more complex understanding of each body part and also a greater familiarity with perspective, even if it isn't that noticeable. Additionally, it would be awesome if you did only arms and/or legs in a couple of videos to avoid wasting time drawing the torso and the head (both which you already, at least, know the shape of) and then, once you feel confident enough, proceed with feet and hands. This way, you will become able to draw many pose combinations without the need of practicing each one separately and practice will result in being much more efficient. Also, to get started with foreshortening (you'll be frustrated tho), what you did with the feet in this drawing helps you to localize the horizon line to then make the proportions accurate to the perspective and then ✨magically✨draw the best poses humanity has ever seen. However, it is much easier said than done, so don't bother xd
that's actually a good idea I'm gonna record just drawing arms and legs I really like that, good idea
If you still feel like drawing legs is hard for you, maybe you could try to make them as cylinders (kind of, at least) instead of straight lines and that will help you to think of them as 3d objects and overlap each other correctly (what you did in first drawing). As for the feet, it would be very useful to define the location of the horizon on the screen to get an idea of from where the viewer should be looking at the feet (you never see feet from the front directly, you see them from above) and then just try drawing a thing that looks like a foot. Nice video!
I'll try those thanks!
that little animation is extremely cute
Thaks I'm really glad someone liked it, it took me way longer than it should have to make it
😶😶😶😶✅
Thanks for making this video 😃 Made me feel like I had someone drawing with me 🙂 I also gotta practice my poses and anatomy 😭 I suck. Also you're kind of funny.
Thanks!
Awesome video sir
Thank you sir
@coolguyjohnson1 SIR, May I know where you make the video from?
America if that's what you mean
Oh yes I actually wanted to know your country
@coolguyjohnson1 The videos are very nice so let's move forward sir.
Keep going brother , be unstoppable ❤
Ok👍
Nice drawings! However, from this point you should start practicing face angles (drawing eyes, nose and mouth; hair is much harder) to actually know what you're doing when doing the eye lineart and to avoid making them look flat or like a sticker. This way, you will also start to get used to drawing "the other eye" and the complexity and dynamism of your artworks will be higher (which makes you like even more what you do if done correctly). Also, for the camera & audio, you could try rotating the phone 180° to bring closer the microphone and avoid having to turn the paper over and over. Keep going, your progress is huge!
Alright I'll draw some heads Also i found something out better for recording the paper but I'm gonna wait until I get a sketchbook to do it
Your voice is great. No problem hearing you.
Good to know! Thanks!
drawing with pens is a really solid idea! forces you to think about your strokes. the bic cristal is really nice for this and it's like 50 cent a piece.
50 cents that is definitely a price I can get around
I notice you drawing alof of faces why not try prokos portrait drawing course on yt which would help alot
You've probably noticed I like proko
I'll try the course next time im drawing faces and yes I've noticed
I agree with the other comment, you really should change to white paper (its not like we don't see anything, but sketches with light lines will become harder to notice if you're planning to do something more complex). Also, try to make the iris in all of your eyes bigger (try to make the top, bottom or both extend beyond the visible eye), they all seem extremely shocked while the point probably was to draw normal ones. Anyways, nice drawings! btw 6:48 starks eyelash
I'll try making the iris is bigger next time Also I'll find some white paper
that thing on your wrist looks creepy. Either way, i suggest you to draw on white paper. The position of cam is better than in was in the last drawing-on-paper video but the shadow is still there. 😔
Which wrist there are things on both of my wrists Also i do not have any white paper that isn't striped and in of of the note books but I'll be getting a sketch book soon
@coolguyjohnson1 on your left one, i guess? (?) looks pretty much like just a scratch tho. Looking forward to you getting that sketchbook, im also getting one soon, lol. Also, a thing i realized recently: pro artists takes reference from real people photos (poses) when drawing characters. Like, im used to search for references as stickmans or simple shapes, like cylinders, boxes, etc (where the legs and arms are mostly presented as cylinders with circles for the joints), but maybe finding real photos of people in dynamic poses and sketching them myself will improve my skills..
I just have a lot of bracelets on I'll try using people reference
If you feel like the phone doesn't let you see your work, you could try making two towers and a bridge (to sustain the camera if there's no tripod) or something to put the phone right above the paper (so the video isn't affected by perspective) while still being able to draw as if you weren't recording. I know there are probably a lot of more sophisticated ways to manage the camera's position, but I remember I did that many times before having a tripod and worked really well. I recommend you continue drawing on paper sometimes (mostly for practicing, but please switch to a lighter color) as I've noticed that your faces take almost 4/5 less time compared to the ones made digitally. Also, what usually makes drawing & sketching physically more useful for practice is that there isn't a ctrl z in case you make a mistake, specially when using a pen (although I hate drawing with pen). This way, you will get more used to avoid common mistakes you notice repeatedly and will end up drawing better or, at least, having more knowledge than last time (asking non-artist friends for honest feedback is also great for this certain aspect). Don't worry about the downgrade in quality when switching suddenly to paper; it's perfectly normal. However, when returning to digital (drawing on paper at school and then digitally at home, literally my case) you will feel as if you were better than ever, just like Rock Lee taking off his weights. Good progress!
I might try that bridge thing Also ending the comment with an anime reference 10/10
@@javixsu yeah, the lack of ctrl z is truly annoying
I agree
epic
Thanks
YOU'RE LEFT HANDED??
YEAH! Does that mater
@coolguyjohnson1 OMG SAMEE! honestly, I love watching your videos since we started to pretty much learn around the same time, and it's awesome to see the progress! you should do more paper drawings too as for me personally, it's harder to work digitally without practicing on paper first but that's just for me since I end up getting better muscle memory quicker that I can easily apply to digital :)
LETS GOOO LEFTIES
@coolguyjohnson1 duh
Why does it matter
Haven't watched the video yet, but it would be a great moment to also do art in paper (just sometimes) if the cable is broken!
I did that it's coming out tommorow
looks good so far
Thanks
Are this the real back yard breeders? (i just searched up what does byb mean)
I don't even know how I'm supposed to respond to that
That's alot of james
James is everything and nothing all at once
beautiful.
Thanks!
Wow that's awesome!
Thanks!
Lesgoooo, man is getting better
Thanks
Haven't watched the video yet, but I think I'll enjoy this one very much!
I hope you do It took way to long
@coolguyjohnson1 I just finished watching it. Great video! You could also try improving anime frames (like this one you colored) by adding more objects or improve coloring/shadowing/highlighting so it isn't only a replica of the original, but something better and with your touch. Believe me, it isn't that hard and ends up being more entertaining.
I'll try that
damm this one took a while
wait wtf this is actually better than i th98tu5 it would be
Thanks It took way to long
Yay 🎉
Yay!
I see people wanting you to color it will be fun but Remember to do your fundementals
I just finished coloring like 10 minutes ago that takes way to long I probably won't be doing it a lot
Some more unsolicited advice from me. For drawing poses, try and some tilt for the ribcage and pelvis. The spine is rarely strait, even when standing straight up. Love the daily uploads btw. Keeps me motivated to keep learning.
I'll keep that in mind
One comment from your last video was right. These kind of videos are very good at keeping me focused on doing my art while watching them (don't worry, I use picture-in-picture so I don't just hear it but watch it also). Nice video! And yea, I'm also waiting for you to add colors to your drawings. Keep going!
Well the coloring video will definitely come out tommorow now
@coolguyjohnson1 😃
sorry, i had to wait additional 14 minutes after you uploaded because yesterday i called a weirdo weird. Anyways, i thought you said you would start working with colors already.
Sorry I didn't have time to color yesterday but I will be coloring today so you'll have to wait another day sorry
@coolguyjohnson1 😔
Nice video!
Thanks!
watching this while also drawing poses so it kinda feels like im in a class so i actually get my work done
Ah yes I am very qualified to teach a class I never finished Highschool I am still learning art myself And i have no previous teaching experience
the progress is so real dude. dad and I are so proud of you
Your my mom? Were have you been all these years
General idea of said pose? Try gesture you can watch tutorials by proko on how to do gesture
Also what happened to ur voice today
I'll watch some video on it Also was my voice different? I just watched the video over and i was eating a sucker so that's why my voice was like that Also I've been a bit sick
You are doing great. I can really see the improvement from earlier to now. If you want any tips from me, I'd be glad to share what I know.
Please I'll take any tips you can give me
I'll try not to dump too much info at once. For drawing figures, it's good to figure out the length. For a regular person, the average height is around 7 to 8 heads. You can change this however you want to fit what you like. Once you figure out how tall you want it, you take the space below your head and cut it in half. That will be where the bottom of the pelvis is. The ribcage will be more than half of the upper torso, and the pelvis will change depending on what gender you want. For men, it will be at most the width of the shoulders. For women, it will be at least the width of the shoulders.
Sorry for the wall of text, it's hard to simplify it past that. If you need clarification, feel free to ask.
No its fine I've read much longer texts that gave me less information so thanks
@coolguyjohnson1 😅
You progress so quickly, how many times do you draw in a day?
We if I'm being honest I usually the only time I draw is in my videos (so around 20 to 30 minutes a day) but sometimes I draw for pretty much the entire day although that's pretty rare
@coolguyjohnson1 understood
Also if your trying to learn yourself the most important part is just draw what you want because you improve more when you enjoy it
what a good boy.
And your other comment was removed try to keep things pg13 in here I have family that watches these
@coolguyjohnson1 you got a family already? and here i was, thinking that i had a chance to be your lover
Considering that we have never even seen each other or talked not in comments you do not have a chance sorry Also by family I ment like mom and dad
epic as always my guy
Thanks
Do more prokos basics course and do the assignments
Ok sounds like I should
oh dang thats good.
Thanks
You know you're growing when you get a hater xd. Keep it up, great work!
Yah know I don't even know if I can call that guy a hater because he kept saying he loves me And he just called me a good boy I am confused by this guy
@@javixsu a hater??? im literally his biggest fan, tf you on
@@javixsu also i just said he did a great job, wtf your problem is
If you love me don't hate on this dude he's a big help
@coolguyjohnson1 fine. Since you're asking so nicely.
You can like anime. It doesn't make you dumb. What makes you dumb is just acting dumb. Not what you watch. You can like anything you wanna like. Dont let others take away what you like. Nice drawing, it seems like you are getting better and better with each video. Very inspiring for me cause I'm a beginner artist. Keep up the great work!
I agree with you i just was done talking to the other guy
@@kat_eternity2.0 shut up feminist
@coolguyjohnson1 😈
Why you her a feminist no one even mentioned anything like that
@coolguyjohnson1 Just for a good point Also just look at her account.
nahh not naruto 💀 still a great job though.
What's wrong with naruto?
@coolguyjohnson1 its rather cringe
Nah it's not that bad
@coolguyjohnson1 👎
Seems as if we have many contradicting opinions What anime would you recommend then
hey, im very glad you got into drawing. Love these progress videos, keep going man!
Thanks, will do!
You could try to make your first proper piece of art with details and everything out of this drawing (since your krita file has high resolution) and learn (or at least try) the processes that follow in the way. I don't think is the most efficient way to improve, but it certainly helped me to like enjoy my art more and be hyped for what I'll do next. Then, at least in my case (nothing related to the video though), there was a point where I, instead of noticing my mistakes first and then become frustrated, started to congratulate myself for doing a decent-looking drawing in paper. Almost 8 months have passed since then (I started drawing as kind of a "new year new me" this year) and today drawing is probably my favorite activity to do in my free time. I have never felt this great with myself in the past and, even if I still erase everything sometimes, would like you to feel the same way for what you do. It is great to prepare the soil with practice, but perhaps it's time to start planting the seed. Good video!
@@javixsu I got 3 things to say First that's kinda the same reason I started drawing to and that's why I usually laugh at my drawing a lot because I'm happy about them Two if you don't mind me asking how old are you? You don't have to answer if you don't want to And three are you some type of philosopher? Ending that comment with those wise words
@coolguyjohnson1 I'm 17 and from South America (sorry for my bad english) 😅 Nothing special really.
@@javixsuhey cool were the same age Your english wasn't bad it was actually good my English isn't that good
i hate cheese. but i still love you
How could you possibly hate cheese
@coolguyjohnson1 its terrible
Your terrible Do you just not like some cheese because there are so many different kinds how can you not like it
@coolguyjohnson1 its all gross. No you're terrible
Well I strongly disagree but your opinion is your opinion
Dang!! 🔥
👍
Nice practice! Specially the one from 16:34. From this point, try practicing the poses you'll draw the most (try learning male first, as the muscles help you to divide it in small parts) and you will become better at anatomy and drawing in overall. Also, you should also try drawing faces from different angles (don't start with sharp ones) or from the side, as it helps to recognize the eyes as 3d objects instead of a sticker (as well as the nose and mouth, even if these are just a couple of lines). Keep going!
Alright I'll try that and thanks
doing great man 💪
