Landlocked: The Midwesterner's Guide to Building and Sailing Small Boats

Tom Pamperin is a writer, sailor, and occasional boat builder based in Wisconsin. He spends his summers exploring the Great Lakes and the inland waters of the Midwest, with occasional trips farther afield. Tom's book Jagular Goes Everywhere: (mis)Adventures in a $300 Sailboat, won an honorable mention for the Council for Wisconsin's Blei/Derleth Nonfiction Book Award in 2015.
Join him for an introduction to the world of sail & oar cruising in small boats that you can build in your own backyard. You'll learn how to plan a small boat cruise--why, where, and how--along with a quick overview of how to choose and build your own cruising boat in your garage, backyard, or (for the truly motivated) your living room.
