@thepbg8453 during the war on Terra, when the Emperor was slain by Horus, many Calibanite guardsmen were sucked into a warp storm, battling demons and enemies of the Emperor for a vast amount of time. After half of the Calibanite were felled, they were able to escape the warp storm and emerge on the other side having found Caliban, their home, destroyed and forged into the Dark Angels Astartes "Rock". After that, talk was held between the timeswept Feudal guard regiment and the astartes and a agreement was made to continue serving the Emperor, a loosely alive corpse, alongside the Dark Angels and allowed them to serve beside them on the Rock. This is the gist of it as we have had campaigns where an ex inquisition Officer betrayed the guard unit and caused various things. There was even a side faction of chaos corrupted Calabanite Guard called "The Broken". Another was a regiment of the Calibanite whom weren't sucked into the warp like the rest, believing they were betrayers and allowed the Emperor to be defeated and Caliban destroyed. They are known by various names, "The Ghosts of what was'/ Caliban's Ghosts" being the big stamp on them as a faction.
