Rio Claro was my favourite river when I was kayaking, and from a nostalgic point of view, it still is. Vente y Dos Tazas was one of my favourite stretches of the river too. It's magical with its unusual geology, and the amazing way the river has shaped the rocks over the centuries. Going under the curtains to the recesses beyond them and running some unique rapids all along the way with new and fascinating surprises around every bend just makes this river amazing and unique. Thank you, Abby, for this wonderful footage, and for the memories of that beautiful area that it brings back.

Best river ever!

That's my favourite river with no exceptions. It's been a long time since I paddled it, but it seems that not much has changed other than the wooden walk way, which was not there in the years when I was going down to Chile to run it. That "river" (it doesn't seem big enough to be called a river by our measurements) is just so epic. It is just very beautiful, but in a few places, it's challenging. Humans couldn't purpose build a water park as delightful as Rio Claro is. It reveals magical sights at every turn, and just beyond every drop, no matter how tall. I hope you get to go down there many times during the coarse of your life. Also, don't miss the other great white water rivers in the area. I don't know how long you've been kayaking, and some of them may be beyond your abilities right now, but someday you will be able to do them all if you keep getting better. Whatever the case, the Rio Claro will always be beautiful and magical. Congratulations on your first descent of this unique river.

I had a lifted 4wd hiace when I was living in a van down by the river, it wasn't quite as tall as your sprinter, but I found that I could use the bow rocker of my boat to help it transition from vertical to flat as I lowered it from the stern. Doesn't work well with everything, but modern high rocker boats were fine most of the time as long as the ground isn't too grippy/abrasive
