I rescued one of these from a basement in 1979. I had to find another carb to get it running. When I finally did, it ran about 80mph red light to red light. It scared that 20 year old half to death! I sold it soon after….It sure was fun for a month or so though and I lived to tell the tale! 😂

I owned one of those in around 1975 ish and was exciting to ride - when it worked. Most of the time it just miss-fired when the power should arrive, 6000rpm. Reset the three settings of points and timing using a dial gauge new plugs and generally it would go like stink but wasn’t long before anticipated two stroke kick would be replaced by frustration and miss-fire. Even more excitement was to be experienced when trying to stop as the twin leading front brake initially gave confidence then it got bored and slowly started to loose interest! Scared my Norton 750 commando owning to death, and me as I was pillion😮. To be honest most of the bikes of that era were similar in some way and wouldn’t have changed had it any different.
