Castillo Torre, Turn Key Knife Package - First Impressions
Most service members I’ve interacted with hate the M9/92fs. Possibly because they received a service m9. One that had been abused and haphazardly cleaned. Civilian model the safety is much smoother and the Beretta thumb sweep actually works. Poor training/manual of arms can also play a factor.
Update on this? I’m just getting into the pattern and have two now. Loved your review and justifications! Subscribed and hope you’re doing well
Thank you! I still occasionally carry the 97. My pocket slip broke so not as much as I had been. I’ve since switched to a case single blade trapper in 1095 that was a DLT exclusive and that’s been my go to/beater knife for the last year with the occasional SAK US Army issue utility knife for the EDC. When I get another slip the 97 will back to my primary carry.
Preach!
The real trick is in getting a 92G.
What about a DAO version of the M9? Is there anything wrong with that short of the heavy trigger pull that might be overcome with enough training?
The DAO is my favorite version of the 92 platform but they’re getting hard to find. I love the DAO trigger, they’re fantastic and if you really want to make it better a few Wilson combat parts make all the difference.
Nah. Only betas hate the M9 because they dont train w it

@@warspiteseria3093 no idea.
I like the Taurus clone of theat, the pt92. The safety on the Taurus you push up to activate the safety so you can flip off the safety with your thumb while youre taking it out of the holster so by the time you have it aimed it's ready to fire. Also the PT92 is so dead nuts reliable you can count on it firing in the harshest conditions
@@bryankerbow7871 while I prefer the beretta I have met government guys that operated in places we weren’t officially in that did use the Taurus and loved it. They’re quality especially for Taurus.
If only that TT33 could talk nice piece of history you got there
@@vincentsilva5663 thank you!
So this particular bayonet lug would be subjected to heat transfer during firing exercises that could potentially render my streamlight pro tac to damage?
@@drewskee817 never had an issue with my surefire and I’ve put a few magazine through it with the light on.
@ is your surefire metal or polymer ?
@ polymer. I’ve done it with my TLR-1 as well. If you’re not mag dumping a lot I think it’d be fine but then again I don’t go around mag dumping into stuff to find out.
@@redbarronreviews2429 thanks for the responses and information.
Works great unless you have midget-thumbs like me. Lol
WOW !!! I Never knew that … thanks for sharing . I just picked up an 8045 Cougar in .45 and I’m going to try it 👍🇺🇸🥰
Why do you need to carry a double action on safe?
Love the 92fs and the sig mk25 226.
I learned this in 1990. Tech school for USAF Security Police.
What reliability issues
It’s not uncommon in military use, at least in my personal experience for the M9 to have reliability issues. Almost everyone I’ve come across had been heavily used, worn out, and often time issued with the checkmate mags that were supposed to be taken out of service. These factors would make any gun choke. The only time I’ve seen them perform well was when I was in the Marines and that’s because they actually maintained the pistols with a real service schedule. In the guard when we had them they were all worn out and had spotty reliability.
The best safety cum decoker. period. Nothing can match it. You are a decocker person, cool, just move the lock up Or a safety lock person, also cool keep it down
Another solution to safety decocker is G Decok conversion kit. So you don’t have to worry about activating safety decocker when pulling the slide back to chamber a round.
@@retrowoohoo468 proper training is cheaper.
Он что с правой снимаен😂
Love the 1914. Great design.
One more question man, the grip safety. Is it also a Wilson combat if so which one would like to make mine look like yours
@@bertoa.2392 it is. It’s their concealment grip safety. I will warn you that it took me about 2 hours to for it. It was rough and I had to shave off some of the hammer to make it work.
30 years lather , owning that gun , cool video
Who the hell leaves the safety on with the double action
Taurus pt92 frame mounted safety ftw
It's like a Sniper for Pros in Pubg
On the M9 A3, the safety lever is positioned 15 degrees upward, on request of the Marine Corps, in order to avoid to engage the safety when arming the gun ( when wearing gloves ).
I've been into handguns since I was 18 in 2010ish... And I learned something new today. I had no idea. I don't have much time with a Beretta but even I know people hated that safety .. how is this the 1st video I've ever seen showing this.
@@corycarlson8712 there are a lot of little things that get overlooked on this gun. I love it now and this is coming from someone who dreaded to qualify with it in the military. The taught doctrine didn’t do Justice for the M9. Now that we have the M17 I feel like we got cheated out of a better handgun.
@@redbarronreviews2429 I love the way I shoot a Beretta but I carry Glocks. Shot a lot of Taurus pt92s with that 1911 safety but only a few hundred rounds on actual Berettas. They are awesome. I agree 100% about the m17. It's so bad. I love 226s as much as any gun, but the 320 design and QC is a literal joke. 2000s Taurus bad. Thanks again for the info. Give me a m9a4 or Glock 19 over a m17 all day every day.
@@corycarlson8712 the M17 isn’t bad from the perspective of training new officers to use a handgun. It’s definitely easier than teaching them a DA/SA which has seen 1st time qualifications go up. But with experienced shooters the M9 is far superior. I wouldn’t say the M17 is trash, but it’s for sure not my favorite. I really think a M9A4 centurion is where it’s at. At this point I prefer beretta over anything other than a high quality 1911. I sound like a fudd but a 1911 built to run instead of shoot groups is pretty hard to beat. I dig the classic sigs. I like glocks if that’s all you’re gonna shoot. It’s pretty difficult to shoot them and then be successful on another platform without a lot of practice due to grip angle.
Just buy the Taurus version...

I replaced all the springs in this firearm, completely disassembled, soaked in solvent, inspected and cleaned. It’s in good mechanical condition.
I'm a huge Beretta fan and this safety trick is new to me. Thank you. Even more it makes it my favorite hand gun ever.
Glad I could help! I’ve got another tip video on the M9 coming soon.
I like that safety
I just don't care for DA/SA triggers.
The Joker and his henchmen used them in the 1989 Batman film.
I never had a reliability issue with mine’s with over 10k rounds. No malfunction. I had it for over ten years now. 🤙🏽
There wasn't a reliability issue with the 92FS. The reason most military M9s had problems was because of units failing to follow the maintenance schedules associated with the guns. You cant shoot guns with high round counts neglect maintenance then act surprised when the guns fail.
ВЕСЩЬ 👍🇱🇹
I got big long ailen hands. and them don't have to break my grip to drop the safety
What is the smallest iteration of the m9? Don’t want full size for conceal carry
@@willdrake1052 the make the compact but it’s still kinda big.
Seen one with a silencer on it and it's almost a whisper from it very quiet
is NOT a safety, it is a deckocker
Country of old men,he saw;s it off!
Good Movie!
I carried one for years in the Marine Corps, we practiced everything you said in the video. Our biggest concern was when you were charging the pistol you would accidentally put it on safe. From time to time
@@WilDayne I need to do a video on this as well. It does happen but easy to train around.
@@redbarronreviews2429 definitely can train around it. Unless you're doing one hand, manipulations, racking it off your belt, etc. kind of just unneeded risk.
Awesome handgun!
Bigger question is why would you carry a DA/SA gun on saftey? I thought that was kinda the whole point of DA guns so the trigger pull is stiff enough so you don't have to rely on the safety like a 1911, cause otherwise its just a 1911 style operation with a way worse trigger.
@@maxatrillionfatstacks there are decocker only models or you can modify what you have. Being made for military it has to be idiot safe.
@@redbarronreviews2429 I did initially carry my Bersa thunder with the safety cause I wasn't sure how impact safe the hammer was and doing chainsawing with it OWB it seemed possible that a big log could drop and hit the hammer causing it to discharge and the safety actually blocks the hammer from hitting the firing pin. But after trying to train a smooth draw with taking the safety off and only being able to get it to disengage about half the time and having to break my grip, cause the Bersa safety is similar to the Beretta but smaller and way more awkward, I realized I'd rather take my chances of an AD into my leg from a log falling on the hammer than go to pull it when I need it and not be able to disengage the safety. I'm definitely confident enough in my gun handling not to rely on a safety, I'm very comfortable carrying a revolver with a transfer bar, it's just the exposed hammer with no additional mechanical safety made me a little nervous but I'm sure they've got some other kind of internal drop safety mechanism in the Bersa
Sometimes you wanna throw a loaded gun into a bag or or door pocket someplace weird where the risk of shit shifting around or something weird happening resulting in an ND is a possibility. Me personally, I don't feel safe pocket carrying guns for extended periods if they don't have a safety and DA trigger. DA alone, a weird snag with some force and bang. Safety alone, all it takes is something bumping the safety and then later a light snag and bang. Both combined, I feel like the chance of everything lining up to go wrong is so low it's basically zero. If you have a proper holster you don't have to ever worry about that, and you should always use a proper holster when available, but sometimes the situation calls for a gun shoved in a bag or pocket. Or glovebox.
Excellent tips, a 92a1 is my EDC and I love it!
I bought one just thinking I’d collect it since it was only a 380 but after shooting mine I fell in love and carry it all the time I love mine it’s very accurate and reliable but I also don’t like plastic guns
I carry mine in winter. I take it to the the range all year round. The only issue I’ve ever had was the very occasional failure to eject. That’s an ammo issue, not a weapon issue.
