Thanks for the video man, I just changed the heater core on my ‘12 gli. Used to have nothing, now it’s nice and warm for the winter! No unwanted coolant hose leaks either, as of now. I appreciate you taking the time to film all this, that must have been tricky.

Dude my heater core pipes will not pop back in like yours did it’s like the holes aren’t align anymore just slightly and it won’t budge

The bottom inlet hose is warm on mine but the outlet metal hose is cold. I think that should mean the heater core is out right?

Happened to me today after making a sharp u-turn. I’ve been putting on more highway miles on my mk6 GTI lately and haven’t had the chance to check my oil levels. Sure enough, the oil levels were low. Got a quart of VW specific oil and topped it off. So far so good. 😅

The white clip that connects to the low beam bulb doesn't go all the way in for me (and yes I did pull the black thing on the back of it). My old harness clipped in very easily. The light still works, but since it's not connected properly, I assume I'm going to have some problems in the future. Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey, i removed the dashboard. I also removed the knee airbag but can‘t remove the metal piece where the knee aurbag is attached to. This metal piece does not let me pull out the heater core now because the heater core pushes against the metal piece. I don‘t know what to do. Any ideas?

Glad to see that you are doing this repair. I'm in the same situation but my car is a MK6 GTI 2 door. I'm wondering how difficult it will be to get the headliner out of the car. Did you disconnect the battery to keep the airbags from deploying? I kinda want to do a DIY but it looks a little sketchy.

Just did this antenna gasket replacement. On my 14’ GLI had 3 antenna connectors. I took off all 3 rear head rests and was able to bend the rear head liner enough to my chin to see everything and work those connectors off and back on. Used a 7/8 socket for that nut. Unfortunately I waited to replace the gasket for so long water seeped in the liner and I got loose pockets. Another project for another day.

Does this affect both pass/drivers headlights at the same time? Mine flickers both lights high/low and it don’t matter if I have lights in auto or on. Had halogen bulbs and leds now. Does it with both.

What about an epc light that came on as I was breaking .. car shook.. restarted car and now it’s fine and the light hasn’t come back on and car running normal

Constantly having light going out even after this fix

My issue with my 2009 VW Passat is that when I’m accelerating my engine light flashes and sometimes my EPC light comes on. Im going to diagnose tomorrow. I’ve had to replace the coolant system ( radiator , water pump, and hoses due to corrosion on the plastic parts) I’m very curious to know what’s causing this. Your video helped me a lot to know what to pinpoint on. Thank you! I appreciate your knowledge. Shops are just way too expensive. 2-5k? Heck no. UA-cam, diagnose, junk yard , DIY in that order 😂🎉
