Stick and Move talks to former Light Heavyweight Champion Matthew Saad Muhammad at the 2006 World Boxing Hall of Fame Press Conference
Matthew Saad Muhammad was a classic tale of from rags to riches and back again. He died from Lou Gehrig's disease which could have been caused by the number and force of the blows he took to the head, during his boxing career.
Easy journey, champ.
R.I.P. Champ..🥊🥊Class act all the way!! Sparred with him back in 1979.."Saad" had some power, for sure!! GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY..🙏🙏
great guy all respect
I'm glad I was old enough to enjoy this great boxer that was Julian Jackson.
Julian Jackson, congratulations on your induction! You fought anyone and everyone, a true old school warrior. This breed of warrior is now extinct. You were one of the last boxing greats, there won't be another like you.
One of my all-time favorites.
Thats a bad man !!!!! He is pound for pound hardest puncher in boxing history !!
Was he in the Jackson Five?
nice to see him extremely articulate, boxing is brutal.
Great fighter and a great man.
agreed on that jabs, looking objectively Ive never seen a harder p4p puncher, the number of one punch knockouts he had was staggering, he really should have made more money in his career
He's the greatest knockout artist in boxing history!!
This guy is an inspiration for all, and I am from St. Thomas, and I find it awesome to see a boxer of his caliber come from the same island
@DusTDeMaFFenT fo sho of dat 340 meh boi
this man musta been the hardest hitting fighter P4P ever!!and with both hands too!!!!
not fists no no no grenades folks grenades
@innit27 would you class yourself as intelligent innit27? well just looking at my stupid fuking name should answer that question shut the fuck up fool
Great to hear him sounding so clear and healthy. CuffColl.
I wish the guy interviewing Jackson stress the question he asked; " WHO DO YOU LIKE TODAY ? "
Thanks for posting this, Matthew Saad Muhammad, I remember him beating John Conteh. Its sad to see this interview but he was one of the most inspirational fighters to me and many.
the common slur from retired boxers but granted the kind of bone shattering wars he was in, he don't sound too bad. least he's audible and understandable, wanna see someone in bad shape listen to Bobby Chacon speak.
It's all about taking away the other guys pride. And having a beer afterwards.
this man had dynamite in his hands.
Jackson is a VIRGIN MeMba Dat 340
his aunt told his brother to leave him in a park in phily. his brother toook him there and left him. fuck this world and all people!
I thought Saad sounded better than Chandler. Surprising, since Saad ate way more punches. Hewas a great fighter. Him vs. Michael Spinks in 1980 or 1981 would have been a great fight.
i was a MSM fan. Great boxer. Nice guy. His problems were similar to when a guard would try and play like a center and vice versa; Saad would try and become an inside fighter. These lapses hurt him. Great career though, a true champion.
Tommy Hearns had the boxing ability along with the POWER and SPEED and REACH,However Julian had the punchers chance and Tommy could be knocked out! So it would be a great fight.
FUCKIN' LEGEND
Stop trying to make fun of the Legend he said "I'm not sure about Alexis being in my divison but I liked him" so he knows Alexis wasn't in his division!
finally some one has my name!
hes a good fighter, but calzaghe will win
Kessler is preparing himself for Clazaghes puitty pat The key is going to be that overhand right of Mikkels...One of the best in the business IMO...It is thrown in an awkward angle that is hard to defend against.... just the fact he is over confident and the fact he truly believes this is a walk in the park...Team Calzaghe is looking past Mikkel and using this as a showcase fight. That will be their downfall Yes That right hand will be the factor if Calzaghe sleeps on it
I'm from Finland and am a Kessler fan. He is undefeated and KOs a lot of his opposition, including champions and contenders, what's not to like. Not saying he's gonna beat Calzaghe but he has a chance. A very good chance I might add.
By the way: Why is this video flagged, when you dont flag videos such as the disgusting "deutschland uber alles"?
Calzaghe is a dead man. Kessler will punch him out of the ring.
Calzaghe is very fast, but Kessler is also fast (some clame that Kessler is slow?). Kessler on the other hand has the best jab in the division and the best overall balance. Both fighters have an extremely good timing and ring overview. It would be a very interesting match up.
I think that the odds are around 50-50. Calzaghe has a tremendous work ratio and is able to constantly attacking throwing fast hooks from different angels during all 12 rounds. Calzaghe also has the better upper body movement. Both fighters can punch and both have an ok chin.
is he still doing this? will he do phone consultations?
Don't think so - end of story part II
Calzaghe would kick his arse! End of story!
christ, it looks like the jab is what knocked the guy out. Insane.
One down, one to go. :)
Sorry markkelly23, have you never seen Kessler box more than these 15 seconds ? Mikkel has a lower hand on purpose to invite to hit him. Kessler is extremly fast in defense, and has pretty much never been hit hard. His counter boxing is dangerous too and he can hit from any angel. His way of boxing you saw here is because Beyer is 5 inch shorter and cant reach Kessler. You should see him vs Mundine in Australia, Kessler on foreign ground against all odds. Kessler won easily with a hurt back too.
I think he beats Calzaghe. I think that he could expose the way Calzaghe has a habit of dropping both hands when punching..very low..I think Kessler will be just too strong. However,Calzaghe has proved me wrong before(see Lacy..lol)so it should be a good one.
a fight between him and calzaghe would be fucking awesome

Vamos tata!, tu puedes acabarlo!!
Saad Muhammad talks a lot better than one would expect. That guy took some serious ass-kickins in the fights he WON. And how 'bout Joltin' Jeff Chandler? Too bad he and Lupe Pintor never settled who the best was at bantamweight back in the early 80s.
