One Headlight - Wallflowers - Drum Cover
From the 1997 album "Bringing Down The Horse". One Headlight hit number 1 on a number of charts in the USA and internationally. Jakob Dylan, Bob's son, isn't just another celebrity kid trying to leverage his dad's fame to become a rock star! This guy and that band wrote some really good music and had a great, unique sound. And man, his voice sounds a lot like his dad in my opinion! Chip off the old block! I think that's pretty cool! I bought this album in 1997 so I'm familiar with this song but I never really "dissected" the drum parts or practiced it because it's just kind of a pretty steady, solid, nice, appropriate beat throughout. So, my version may be close but maybe not exact. Still, great song and fun to play!

My favorite ZZ Top song! Iconic classic Rock and Roll tune! Fun to play! I inject the double bass into a couple spots including the opening fill because I just like the way it sounds even though Frank Beard did not use double bass on this very cool fill!

Good song from their hey day! Nothing flashy on the drums for sure. I played this along with a few other E, W & F songs for my sister because we were talking about the songs we both liked the most from them. I probably should have practiced this a few times first, especially the ending!

I just installed and tuned these new heads. They have a nice punch while not being overly "ringy", a little deeper sounding than the EC2's, great stick rebound and overall just a really nice head. I do still put on the Remo drum rings to deaden them a bit more but that's what I like - punchy and low resonance. I don't have them on in this video though.

Have always loved and admired these guys since the early 70's! Funky, tight, crisp and "happy" good music!! Fun to play and try getting down some of that "crisp" sound!!

Thanks man! I started playing double bass when I was a teenager (about 50 years ago!) because of my main influence on double bass Tommy Aldridge blew my mind when he was with Black Oak Arkansas so my thoughts back then when learning drums were "God, I want to be like him"!! The rest is history! I've incorporated various patterns and beats into my normal, everyday playing now and to me just feels natural when a song calls for it or when I'm just horsin' around like in this video! Thanks for watching and commenting! BTW, Tommy is still crankin' out in his mid 70's now and continues to amaze!

Funny you ask that! I received my Aquarian bass drum port ring the next day and installed it in the center of my bass drum front head!! It provides a little more bass drum thump but actually not as much as I thought it would. But, for less than 10 bucks, I'm glad I did it! Thanks for watching and for your compliment! Take care!

I really like playing this because there's so much classic "Tommy Aldridge" double bass going on and he was my primary inspiration for getting into learning to play double bass, oh let's see, about 50 years ago if you can believe that! It's so hard to believe it was that long ago! My iPhone video doesn't pick it all up but It's still somewhat discernible! Take care!
