Shame the rider is not up to it ....
Awesome video
I was interested in the story...before I ever saw your name on the vinyls. Now I'm really interested in the story.
Why wouldn't they let your son ride ?
why was your son not accepted ?
Yeah shame as a previous comment ask why no more episodes on this. My understanding from viewing Brake magazine is that to show footage from the actual rally you have to pay lots of money, so seeing as these guys were on a tight budget I doubt it would have covered paying for expensive royalties. Enjoyed the build up parts they were able to cover tho, good work from little Pavey.
Fucks sake, note to utube vid makers, don't make your music so loud you have to constantly turn it down and then the speaking parts so quiet you have to turn it up.
Sadly, production of both is terminated.
Very nice video! The song is a great match!
Looks like a great course to do. Good to see Charley and Simon still catching up with each other.
Nicely done!
Do you have the Evo rally kit installed! Thanks
Really nice video, and TBM is very much missed. Shame. Great days.
worst music ever.
tenere will smoke sertao in every department, silly comparison. Tenere is overland serious bike, sertao is a toy :)
Iv used an old inner tube
say...that's a nice husky
No more episodes? What happened?
Awesome stuff! What a legend- the music has to go- makes me feel like knitting a sweater
Great comment about not have to be a pro rider to have an awesome adventure! :P
I was wondering where the music came from in the beginning. I was just listening to that awesome album. And I really enjoy the documentary. Great work!
Inspiring to see how seemingly effortlessly they handle the sand.
What material did you Make the upper frame guard out off, looking to buy a beta just don't want my boots rubbing the upper part of the frame? Thanks
+Enduro X you can use inner tire and zip tie it on couple spots. that would do the trick
Unfortunately, and inexplicably, the little Tenere is not available in the states so I went with the Sertao.
I HAVE THE TENERE AND SHE'S A HONORABLY BIKE AND YOU CAN GO EVERYWΗERE WITH THIS!
Although they appear to be similar, they couldn't be more far apart. Having owned the previous incarnation of the sertao (dakar), and now at 20.000km on my new tenere i can honestly say, they are very different machines (given the dakar engine and the chassis is identical to the new sertao). First of all, stock stuff apart (like suspension which should be upgraded in both machines), the ten is in a different league. It has a much larger fuel tank, it is more maneuverable, much more lower grunt, engine is snappier and "angrier" out of the box even though it has about the same hp, infinitely better brakes (actually, the stopping power of the bike is nothing short of amazing), built in crash protection thanks to the well designed reinforced plastic pads which are also quite cheap (compared to standard bmw prices), better and more intuitive hud, easy access to every major component of the bike (lightbulbs, airfilter, battery, oil filter) - just cleaning the airfilter in the dakar/sertao in the middle of nowhere, having to remove the plastic frame and airbox to get to it, takes quite some time and is annoying as hell). Now, the bike isn't perfect, but the few drawbacks that it has (like the downthrottled engine to fit eu regulations, the ever bending foot brake lever, the bulky stock exhaust, the exposed water pump and the plastic stock engine guard) can easily be fixed with a couple of upgrades that will cost less than a bmw inspection. Also, the bike is not a beginners bike as much as the dakar/sertao is. It handles better, but at the cost of the riders skills. It's not as forgiving as the bmw due to the higher center of gravity, taller stance and larger tank, which make it easier to tip over at lower speeds if you aren't skilled enough to keep it straight. Would not recommend it as a "first" bike. Even though it is built in the eu, and not in japan as most people believe, it's still an awesome machine that takes you anywhere and does everything a human could possibly ask of a big enduro bike. Maintenance prices are also a lot lower that the bmw counterpart. But that's a company issue, not directly related to the subject at hand. Still, it does count a lot. And as a bonus, whenever you look at it in the parking lot, you get an instant grin so large you have to take your helmet off or the face starts hurting.
wrong , tenere doesn't need suspension upgrade, it's perfect stock.
Unless you like it softer. Put hyperpro springs on it and it finally stopped rocking like a boat when braking hard on tarmac. I guess it's a matter of preference.
well done
Tenere is so great bike.
So you need a decent pipe guard, you got stiffer springs, the brake bolt fell out, and you changed gearing.. pretty much what everyone deals with with a bike when they get one... some stuff gets loose and just have to adjust here and there to dial in.. ok.. Looks like you are doing more mx ish stuff. I don't see any of the vid of any technical terrain. ..
Amazing!!!
Fantastic!!!! ;)
tenere é muito linda mas em questao de custo beneficio é melhor a Sertao
Hi Where are the episodes from the actual rally?
song title?
wow man.. I love your camera work! I have been been trying to work out how I can film a RTW moto trip by myself without it looking stupid but after watching this video I have a renewed hope. There was no panning etc and this could be entirely filmed by the rider but still remained really engaging. Where can I add you to get some tips?! I just bought a new Canon EOS 7D yesterday. Excellent work mate, would love to hear which program you used in post also!!
I too am looking at buying my first bike.So far I am looking at the bmw g650 gs Sertao or the Kawaski. What do experience bike riders say when you tell them you have the Sertao as your first bike? How do you like the Sertao on bush tracks?
The Tenere is surely more dirt-oriented, with also a bigger fuel tank (14 liters vs 23). The Sertao has a smoother engine, and a lower fuel consumption (28 km/l at 90km/h!). I have the standard G 650 GS, and it's a very good bike, very easy to drive on the road. But if I have to choose a bike to ride often in off road...the 660 Tenere is the way.
Really good footage, Si! Wish the music was more inspiring ;)
After 25,500 klm's on the Tenere, I can honestly say this bike is awesome, set up correctly, it does anything I ask of it and more, and it does it all beautifully. On road, off road, tracks whatever, it always leaves you with a smile on your face, every time ! If I was in the market for a new adventure bike, I would buy one again in a heartbeat.
Great video. Where is it?
Actually you cant have two more similar bikes, even the power output is almost the same. But there is one difference - dual calipers on front wheel. I´m riding Tenere for two years now and you can stop it with one finger, no prob. For a beginner with longer legs (you need to reach to ground) you can´t make mistake with any of them, but saying that I have to admit, I went for Teneré and very happy about it!
i have a sertao. love it. very cool video of both of the bikes. the windmill adds a nice element (i like the part with the shadow).
Tenere wins :), Tenere is not smooth, it's rough and she is for naughty boys.
i`ve the sertao and this bike is so nice and the bmw look´s MUCH better than the tenere
I have 17,000 miles on the Sertao, good for two up dual sport rides with my daughter. Proved it's self on the Utah Backcountry discovery route. Not fun on freeways. If I had it to do again, I would have bought a KTM 990 or 690. The Sertao will take me everywhere, let you know when I have 100,000 miles on it.
I'll go for tenere
Sertao,fantastic bike, love mine,
Bella e Brava Ténérélla...
very skilled rider but the man is a cu-t , took him to court back in the 90's over a bike parts scam - and won!!!!
I went with the Sertao.. My first bike, newly licensed also. I can't stop riding it!
