Welcome to Unreal Habitat, my name is Danelo and I will be sharing my process as an environment artist using Unreal Engine 5, Blender and Substance Painter. As well as tutorials I will make along my journey of things that I have learned and find useful to others :)

Welcome Back Sorry I was Very Busy But Now I Will Be Regular ❤
Thank you Head :D
Do you have a tutorial on Udemy or something? Love the content.
Thank you, not yet, but that would be a great idea :)
This method exports outer borders as opacity, sometimes we have inner opacity like fence, Chainmail etc. By this method inner opacities are lost.. Trying to find a solution...
Since this method uses opacity it will override the original opacity map of your textures. Im not sure its going to work in that case. I will suggest keeping those materials separate
How can I get the asset pack of all the stuff you used in building the world please reply
Most of this assets come from Synty Studios
im doing this but it seems like only works if the part of character is visible by camera. can you help me please
This is not a great solution for performance, what version of UE5 are you using?
@@unrealhabitat 5.4 , for performance im thinking since its only for a mirror inside only one room its not ganna take that much effect in performance i believe/ , but yeah its weird that im chacking all the steps you mentioned in description and still have no clue on why its not working. i just want to have some reflection using lumen , and i saw your video but no luck for me....
can you reply
@@arash5550 I see, if you join my Discord and send me a message, I can send you a small project file with this mirror, for you to see the settings I used
@@unrealhabitat yes plz send me invitation
Textures come out black from Substance Painter when doing this. Does this happen to anyone else?
this might be because you need to add an opacity channel to each layer and export using transparency, also I haven't tested this on the latest version of Substance Painter
this looks cool
Thank you ❤
Very nice, how long did it take you?
this video is a time lapse of 2h 36min you can check the entire process in my channel under the live video section
Before your videos I didn't think that so much work was needed to model all this
All the 3D assets you see were made by Synty Studios. My job as a worldbuilder is like going to a Lego store and putting different boxes of Lego together to create something cool. Making 3D assets from scratch takes a lot of work but it can make your game more unique. I try to play with textures, materials and sometimes I do modify the geometry of these assets to achieve something more interesting :)
i randomly clicked into the video and my message was read out :D | sample comment | lorem ipsum | bla bla i procrastinate from doing relevant things
haha that's funny :)
incredible work man
I really appreciate it, I'm building this world using Synty Polygon Asset packs :)
hi, is it possible to use this workflow for some mesh that already use opacity ? As for a character with transparent clothes for example ?
That's a great question, I haven't tried that yet, but usually for transparency I use a different material, because it will need to be set up differently in Unreal Engine
Good vibes, Im enjoying these vids. 🤟
Thank you so much :)
It hurts me inside watching you hand place items when you can use PCG.
I do use PCG :) Foliage tools and hand placement. Also spline blueprints and the Dash plug-in. There is nothing nicer than hand placed assets
Lookin' good! A question if you dont mind: I'm designing a big jungle covered island map in a realistic style. I'll have a mountainous area with a volcano but other than that, can you think of any interesting elements I can add to the map? The gameplay will revolve around primitive tribes fighting each other and the perspective will be top down
Thank you, that's so cool! I would def look into reference from real world locations to get inspiration. But you can never go wrong with hanging bridges, vines, fog, light shafts and indigenous sculptures :D
Awesome stream! Glad I found the channel today
Thank You
Okay thanks
Isn't it just easier to export padding as "Dilation+ transparent"...simple..
The idea here is to have all different materials merged into a single image, if you are using a mesh with multiple materials there is no need for this workflow :)
FYI - the playlist is backwards.
I'm sorry, I need to fix that and separate the vertical version from the horizontal one. Thank you for letting me know 💚
I got the Playlist fixed, now all Horizontal videos from the Worldbuilding series are in one single Playlist, unfortunately UA-cam does not let me reorder them as I wish, even though they are named correctly sometimes UA-cam shuffles them in a weird order. Again thank you so much for our interest in my work! @AsaTaylor
@@unrealhabitat That's a shame. Oh well.
This video saved me. Thank you <3
I'm very happy this worked for you :)
Hello nice videos, how do you make these massive worlds without running out of video memory because anytime i try to create a big map it just starts to lag and my pc stuggles.
Hello, I might have to do with using low poly meshes without much textures. Also my PC is kinda beefy :)
What asset pack did the volcano and lava caves come from? Looks awesome man! Keep up the good work.
Its a very old asset pack that Unreal Engine gave back in version 4.27, unfortunately is no longer available, not even for purchase haha Synty has a similar one though
What are these nice looking clouds?self made or somemarketplace asset?
Hello, all assets are from the Unreal Engine Market Place, I belive these clouds are from Polygon Fantasy Kingdom pack :)
@@unrealhabitat thank you for hint;)willa chech for surę.good luck with your project
❤❤ great 👍
I Love your series
Thank you :D
