Tommy is right the one that got away, these things happen and at least you didn’t shy away from it and not publish it so fair play. The way I’d see it is that’s it’s great miles in the legs, dinner on top of the mountain and of course something you and Tommy can look back on in years to come. @@Jamiethemouse-hk8ju this experience was my worst wild camp I've had. I've a funny feeling they won't be back so you should be fine. Saying that if you want to be around that area for a camp pass that forest and head on down the forest behind is way better / nicer.

It nearly broke me, sore for a few days afterwards.
Tough hike Bearnagh but definitely worth it as I always say it's the best mountain on the Mournes. As for the buns you can't go hiking without sweet treats 😂
