Does Dr. Yeh know how to use nutrition instead of drugs?
This is so helpful, i have suffer with my eyes ive heen to the opticians, the hospital and my local doctor and ive been diagnosed with chronic dry eye, then it was diagnosed as blepharitis, then just dry eye again so i have felt let down by my docs they just gave me droos and that was it really , so frustrating because it feels like its worse than ever, constant build up in my eyes , constantly trying to clear them and so paranoid about how they look it effects my everyday life so much i no longer feel lime the person i used to be. It takes the fun out of putting make up on because as fast as i putbit on it is effecting my mental state because even if it isnt building up i am constantly thinking about it, wanting to go to the bathroom/ toilet/ rest room. Then the 2 times a day warm compressions and cleansing, so time consuming because the more i do it the more i feel like it accumalates, i feel like i could just massage and cleansw and its still never ending. But this was so informative and it obviously is more likely to be MGD which i have never heard of until i watched your video. Thankyou for putting this out .
Like excellent explanations information about rop case

Who are fear operation, this drop is appropriate, ?pl tell,
I lived in canada, i was 16 when they first started seeing issues, was initially diagnosed with macular degeneration, i was 24 when cone dystrophy was the conclusion( still getting “are you sure its not glaucoma?”) im now 34, i wear sunglasses clips for my glasses, i uses the zoom on my phone to look at restaurant menus. The light blindness sucks and i get the whole “your not blind” because they think legal blind is the same as total blindness. I hope you are doing well on your journey, personally im having issues with the anxiety on it but i appreciate you have such a positive addieude on the matter
Great overview of what to expect in the first year of life. It's so important to engage with our babies during this time. Thank you for organizing and sharing this.

This is so scary. I see floaters now im terrified
Sorry to hear that. What stage are u now? I had just been diagnosed with background retinopathy I only started to see in and out tiny blurry. once I was told, I became hypersensitive. though I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2022 and have kept my glucose between 5.2 to 6.2mmol. for some reason, I still got caught up with this.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
This is a fabulous focus! As an eye care professional of 45 years and unfortunately a 15 eye surgery/procedure it is so IMPORTANT to share this message
Should i do the same with a drone and when i look with my fpv goggle any worry for my eye ?
fpv goggles are not a concern for your eyes - there's no direct conncection between the camera lens and your eyes - but you do need a solar filter for your drone camera lens
I Experience vison loss due to high blood sugar my alc now 5.4 blood sugar 9.7
Most ND filters are not ISO certified to block the UV and IR radiation from the sun.

Glad it was helpful!
I have glaucoma also, Tasha. It is so important to have regular eye exams just like one should have regular physical exams! I had no symptoms but my glaucoma was caught during an annual eye exam. I take eye drops every night and will forever I imagine. That's fine by me as long I keep the glaucoma from worsening.
Your story is compelling, Tasha. Thanks for sharing.
Informative video

Important information. Great job presenting by Dr. Steinemann and Jeff Todd!
Thanks Sherry!
So is a progressive thing it 😢😢will not get better
The best place to start is to set up an appointment with your eye doctor to assess your eyes and vision and find out what's going on and what treatment options you might have.
This is getting scary. I've got very prolific retinopathy and the medicine shots and laser surgery is not working. My A1c is now 6.1, but was terribly high for a very long time. I don't know how I'll cope. I am extreme poverty and have been raising 4 kids alone. I was abused all my childhood and have zero contact with any family. My kids dad ended up being more than a monster and he's not in the picture in any way. I survive by making plans for all worst cases... it's like all I have for back up. When you cant turn to your parents or family, then being prepared for anything and having a plan IS your safety and security net. I do have a steady boyfriend now, but these kids need their home to stay stable and unchanged. I have 3 left at home and even the oldest who's moved away still worries me. She's not where I can say she has her feet under her yet. I'm scared.
I'm so sorry for all you're going through. We do have a list of financial resources for vision care: preventblindness.org/vision-care-financial-assistance-information/ and more about health insurance here: preventblindness.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Insuring-Your-Eye-Health.pdf
I am a single Mother . My sns are 18 and 22 now but I am now 53 years old and do not mind being on my own now with my sons..I have had disabilities for the last almost 28 years now....Don't expect so much of yourself and enjoy your kids .
Surely doctors can find a cure for this disease. It’s ruining lives and it’s like no one cares.

I am 69years old and live in the tiny island , named Mauritius, Indian Ocean. Often I get redness in my eyes. Through advice of Opthalmologue , I was advice to use Predmet eye drops twice or thruice a day through intervals. The redness vanishes but reappears after one month. This last for nearly 6 months.Recently I visited a n eye specialist , and on doing a scan test he concluded that I had cystoid Macular Edema. And this can be cured by injunctions, which will be twice or thrice. But no guarantee..The actual Opthalmologue are treating me with Soludone 20 MG and 10mg each for 15 days .On 27th , Sept, doctor will check me to know further.I will let you know further .thank you very much for the guidelines
What a great video!!
Thank you!! Jessica and her father really went the extra mile to make this story informative and engaging for our audience.
Hi there! I am 37 years old - I was initially diagnosed with early onset AMD at 21 years old. I have lots of drusen in both eyes, but I have recently (this week) been diagnosed with Geographic Atrophy. Thank you for having these videos available - it helps navigate the situation and get more expert information about what this really is. Is there any kind of average prognosis for a timeline? It's really hard to know how much to prepare and how quickly... especially in someone my age. Thank you.
ALSO - my visual hallucinations FINALLY explained! Thank you!!!!!
Thank you so much for your comment. Disease progression can be different for everyone, so it's important to monitor your vision on an ongoing basis and work closely with your ophthalmologist. We're glad there are now treatments available for GA. We also have a lot of resources at lowvision.preventblindness.org if and when GA does affect your vision, and there are also a lot of helpful resources at hadley.edu/ - among other programs they facilitate discussion groups and ways to connect with other people with similar experiences.
Thank you for a wonderful podcast. Life is suffering, but Life also gives us many beautiful moments if were open to it. Thanks again.
None of this helps!
It's important to know for sure what the issue is if you're experiencing symptoms, so scheduling an exam with your eye doctor is the best place to start.

i have rod/cone dystrophy. diagnosed at 72, now 76. it is getting worse. NO ONE, not even my friends, believes me. i have photophobia, color blindness, and use a white cane too. i cannot see white on white, anything clear, cannot see with a flashlight, outdoors during the day, and pretty much the same as you. i cannot drive, which has ruined my life. i have a live in to drive me around. i have an IPAD PRO, but cannot use my cell phone at all. i stay in my dark bedroom mostly with my two dogs and cat. People just dont understand. i do see certain colors and for some odd reason, Wheel of Fortune is very colorful as well as certain Cartoons and ads on TV. othernthannthat when i watch movies on my IPAD are all black and white. i grew up with black and white TV so i feel i went backwards in time. Now i have a large cataract on one eye and i do notice that the vision is a little worse innthat eye. i will try to access your website since it is late here. thank you for yournvideo.
I have Rp😭
Hi, I too have RP. I always wanted to connect to people wo are suffering same as me.I want share feelings about how it feeels to have RP with people llike me. can you put your social media handle here so that i can connect to you
I know the pain and people don't understand 😢
They should be running PSA's on tv telling the overweight type TWO diabetics that you might be able to prevent it by losing enough weight!
Some Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics (my aunt for example) have gone blind due to not monitoring their high glucose levels and not changing their diet accordingly and taking medications.
What you stated is actually the number one cause of blindness in diabetics..although this can still happen even if you are controlling your blood sugar. I was just diagnosed with Diabetic Retinopathy and I'm about to make some big changes in my diet and lifestyle to save my vision. Very scary..but I'm going to do my best and my heart goes out to everyone dealing with this. Diabetes is a monster..and we need to find a cure already.
@@Nightbird. My ophthalmologist has been injecting a medication into both eyeballs on a monthly basis for the past 18 months in an attempt to arrest further vision loss.
My dad too type 2 . It’s not genetics but he doesn’t control…makes me even mad when he refuses medications 😫
@@Landis_Grant I wish you the best of luck with that. Please keep me updated. My vision in one eye went a little blurry the day after my blood sugar went to normal from super low carb eating. Scared me badly because it literally happened overnight. My doctors office said if it doesn't get better soon to come in for them to look at it. Keeping my fingers crossed it's just my lens going back to normal after being swollen from high glucose for so long.
@@chloecosmina1243 I'm so sad to hear this. Show him this video and tell him something along the lines of "I love you..and don't want you to have to be blind and/or have to get dialyses 3 time a week." Good luck..I know it's hard.
Thank you. I have the same condition. With two children that inherited this condition too. I totally relate to what you are saying. I was diagnosed at birth in the uk.
Was it stationary? And how was it
i am sorry to hear that. i was diagnosed at 72, 76 this month. as far as i know, no one in my family history had this. i have to have a live in to help me. i stay out of light of any type
Thx. Good info. I used to wonder why we don't need the special protection glasses in our everyday life but do need them for an eclipse; it was good to hear an explanation.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the Post I was diagnosed with cone dystrophy about 12 years ago. I've been lucky I only have moderate vision loss. I have never met anybody else with their diagnosis.
