Solo Canoe Camping Puzzle Lake Provincial Park Part 2
Part 2 of my solo trip to Loyst Lake, part of Puzzle Lake Provincial Park. I canoe and portage from Gull Lake over to Loyst Lake and then check out Mud and Norway Lakes. Most of my gear is #mountainwarehouse but I swear I'm not sponsored by them. (Give me a call Mountain Warehouse). A typical backcountry camping trip in Ontario fishing for smallmouth bass and exploring the woods.

Sturgeon Fishing Fraser River

Fishing for Sturgeon on the Fraser River out of Chillawack, BC. We chartered a jetboat from Pursuit Sport Fishing Charters for a half day of fishing for a species that should be on everyone's bucket list. There nothing quite like a sturgeon breaching, or fighting a fish you're not sure you can win. Holding these giant prehistoric armored beauties is nothing short of magical.
DIY Canoe Seat Replacement

Your canoe seat is going to wear out. That's just a fact. Replace it yourself by making your own. That's all well and good but what happens if you have an old canoe with no inwales to hang the new seat on? Well I'll show you my solution in this boat building / canoe repair video.

Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park

Took a backcountry trip to hike the Sheldon Lake Loop of the Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands non-operating provincial park. Backpacking into site 40, a small pond site with not another soul to be seen. A nice July quick overnight trip.
Pine Portage Lodge Fly in Fishing Algoma Ontario

Pike and Walleye fishing with my Dad and Brother. The "family lake" Kabinakagami or Kaby Lake sits north of Wawa Ontario in the Algoma Region and is accessible only by float plane. Our journey begins at Watson's Skyways and ends at the North end of this 108km2 Walleye and Pike haven. Wildlife includes loons, beavers, gulls, pine martens, bald eagles, groundhogs and even a cow moose and her calf...
Canada Day Solo Kayak Hammock Camping 2023
Переглядів 2836 місяців тому
In anticipation of my week long solo trip I'm testing out new equipment (stove, hammock, etc) and making sure I can fit everything I will need in this Canada Day solo trip. 2023 kicked off with an array of wildfires making it a smoky trip without any campfires permitted. Fishing was bonkers, mostly small ones this time of year on such a small lake but still a lot of fun. Saw lots of wildlife as...
Solar Eclipse Totality Backcountry Camping
Переглядів 1076 місяців тому
Backcountry camping during a solar eclipse. I hiked an early spring trail to the perfect spot to see the eclipse. This video has it all! Totality, starlapses, hiking, me! I'm usually a canoe guy but I booked this trip back when I thought there might still be ice on the lakes. I had planned to hike in from the main entrance as the other lots are closed until later in the season but through a str...
Solo Winter Camping 2024

Went out camping over a frozen lake in the Canadian bakcounty. First trip of the year. Had been -10 to -20 for a few weeks but the day before my trip it got above 0 and rained 10mm. Created a slushy mess on the ice and soaked all the fallen trees leaving nothing to burn. Warm during the day but the lack of fire at night was unpleasant. Tried a little bit of ice fishing but no bites. The wolves ...

What's it like to take a shower in Niagara Falls?
Looks like a beaver.
Took care yourSelf out there brother.. what you are doing out there Looks fun
Always is
Very nice video. Thanks for sharing. sub & 👍23
Thanks and welcome
Is this wilderness/crown land camping or are you required to book, pay for your sites?
This is crown land. You just have to be careful you're not on private property cause there are a lot of cottages around. And south of the lake is a provincial park
@@sandinshorts thanks!
Looks like a nice time you had, what more could a man want!
Maybe some fish and fewer bugs but one can't be too greedy.
@@sandinshorts haha that's why it's called "fishing" and not "catching" haha
Mushroom mushroom mushroom 🍄
But no badgers 🦡
Looks like a good trip!
Thanks. I'll be back again
Cool video, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Fished there a few years ago. The staff was awesome, and the shore lunches were something you looked forward each day. Landed fish after fish, unfortunately done of them were close to trophy size.
I caught a Pike over 40" at the south end of the lake on a different trip. This one was pre-pandemic. Haven't been back since it changed ownership. Was a great lodge. Hopefully the pandemic and new owners hasn't changed that.
Hi. thanks for sharng theses beatifull moments. I am planning to purchase a Sportspal canoe and a motor. Thinking about an electric one. What are you using?
Thanks for watching. I have a 32 lb thrust minn kota. Has plenty of thrust for calm water but I wouldn't trust it out on a choppy big lake.
Awesome shots!
Thanks a lot!
great shots of totality
Many thanks!
Loved the nighttime clip with the coyotes/wolves. Although wet, it looked like there were some peaceful moments on that trip. Well done👌
Thanks 👍
You are good at editing!
I try
Do you use cut cap
No. Davinci Resolve. I've got capcut on my phone but I've not actually tried it yet.
Niceeee
Yeah. Pretty sweet
Cool 👍👍
Thanks
Your 1st tree still had leaves on it, surely not dead? Nice vid though, subbing for more.
It had been downed by a beaver. You can't see the chew marks cause I cut that part off the trunk off camera or I wouldn't have been able to move it. Thanks for watching.
@@sandinshorts but did it burn? I was just thinking that would be a lot of wasted effort for no heat 😂
Bottom was pretty dry. Top was a little green and I didn't bother cutting up the top. Stuff I cut up burned fine. My guess is it was felled a few months ago.
Keep going ❤❤❤❤
Did and will. Got lots of content coming.
😊
Nice work! You make all the work that goes into these trips look like fun. Also, what did you do with those feathers?
Sitting in my kitchen. Figured out today they are Osprey feathers
Can you make me a headstone? Thanks
Remind me next year
Hh love it 😂
Thanks
Awsome😂😂😂
🙂
Whole build video please
Eventually. Until then enjoy another boat build highlights reel. ua-cam.com/video/5haY00OhmRE/v-deo.html
You are the best UA-camr
Thanks E.
Liked the under water shot to see how it looked in action!
Thanks
Love a good campfire! 😍
I may do a higher quality long version next time I go camping
Looks like fun! Does it feel similar to actual skydiving?
Not really. Skydiving you could travel half a km sideways and not realize you've even moved.
This looks like so much fun! Is it loud?
Yes. But you wear earplugs
Tuck and roll!

Thanks. Her name is Cricket.
how do you throttle
The guy throttles for you. That's why sometimes I just kind of fall down to the water cause he thought I was going to fall
